* GoryDiscretionShot: We don't see the human and Venn soldiers get devoured by the arachnids in Issue #2. We do, however, see blood squirt into the air, implying that none of them were SwallowedWhole.

* NeverMyFault: One of the reasons why Brother M'Thall hates the humans is because he didn't expect them to kill so many Venn when he and his minions [[spoiler:invaded the ''Fate'' spaceship]]. At no point does he address that ''he'' was the one who started the fight by invading human territory with the intent of stealing from them.

* ShadowDiscretionShot: [[spoiler:Brother M'Thall's]] death isn't shown in full detail. We only see a black shadow of [[spoiler:Seph]] blowing his head apart with her staff.
* SomebodySetUpUsTheBomb: [[spoiler:In Issue #9, we find out that Bram secretly reprogrammed a power core's igniter to self-destruct once it was plugged back in. Which it does, right in front of several Venn soldiers]].

''Reyn'' is a comic book published in 2015 by Creator/ImageComics and written by Kel Symons, with Nate Stockman as the illustrator.

Following the events of the [[CataclysmBackstory Great Cataclysm]], a "noble" swordsman named Reyn wanders around the lands of Fate helping those in need. But when Reyn encounters a sorceress named Seph and attracts [[TheReptilians the Venn]], Reyn and Seph soon find themselves on a quest to defeat the Venn and discovery the secrets that Fate holds.

----
!!''Reyn'' provides examples of:

* AliensAreBastards: [[spoiler:The Venn species are actually aliens, and all of them want to either enslave or eradicate all of humanity]].
* AndTheAdventureContinues: In the end, Seph decides to [[spoiler:let Aurora wipe Reyn's memory of everything that took place in the comic.]] They then head to a village to help its residents fight off monsters, which was exactly what Reyn was doing in the first issue.
* BigBad: Brother M'Thall, the leader of the Venn.
* CataclysmBackstory: The Great Cataclysm is only vaguely referenced in the first issues of the book. Brother M'Thall reveals that [[spoiler:said cataclysm was a result of ''Fate'''s control systems being damaged, which triggered an ice age, amongst other disasters]].
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:Seph removes Reyn's eye so she can use it on a scanner and gain access to ''Fate'''s control room]].
* GenreShift: The first four issues seem like a typical fantasy setting set in medieval times. [[spoiler:It quickly turns into science fiction]].
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: PlayedForLaughs. A flashback in Issue #10 shows Reyn having been impaled with a sword. [[OnlyAFleshWound He doesn't seem fazed by it]].
* InterspeciesRomance: When we first see Brother M'Thall, he's in bed naked with another human being. While it's not outright stated, it's easy to figure out what the two of them were doing.
* PrecisionFStrike: How Reyn responds to getting impaled with a sword.
--> '''Reyn''': "Well...'''fuck'''. Just how bad does this look?"
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Or amphibians, in this case. The Venn species all look very similar to salamanders. And all of them are evil and malevolent towards humans.
* TheReptilians: The Venn look very similar to anthropomorphic salamanders.
* TheReveal:
** Issue #5 reveals that [[spoiler:Fate is actually ''Fate'', a giant spaceship that's been in outer space for hundreds of years]].
** Issue #9 reveals that [[spoiler:Reyn is actually not human, and is in fact some kind of cyborg or android]].
* TalkingToThemself: Reyn is frequently seen talking to an entity known as Aurora, and everyone, naturally, assumes he's crazy. We find out later that [[spoiler:Aurora ''is'' real, and she's actually ''Fate'''s A.I.]]
