* FiveManBand: Shareen's court fits the position very nicely.
** BigBad: Empress Camilla.
** TheDragon: Xanesha, Camila's right-hand woman.
** TheEvilGenius: Kulan Gath, the resident CourtMage. He also pulls double duty of TheStarscream.
** TheBrute: Ruthazek, a big and fierce dire gorilla. (He serves as Kulan Gath's personal [[TheDragon Dragon]]).
** TheDarkChick: Phondari, a Black Martian and the most genuinely friendly member of the group.
** SixthRangerTraitor: Merisiel, who is revealed to be in league with them 20 years before the event of the series.

* NotSoDifferent: Tarzan and the twin brothers Romulus and Remus were wild children raised by animals (Tarzan was raised by apes, while the twins were nursed by a she-wolf). They tell him they are all very much alike in their WeCanRuleTogether offer.

* ChurchMilitant: The Holy Therns are an [[CadreOfForeignBodyguards bodyguard force]], an [[ChurchPolice religious police]] and clergy rolled up into one. They are also an very evil example of this trope.

* DeadlyDecadentCourt: Shareen's court delights in watching fights to the death in the arena and boo at the champion who spares their defeated foe.

* FaceHeelTurn: Merisiel of the Pathfinders adventuring party is revealed to have joined Camilla's DeadlyDecadentCourt. [[spoiler:Turns out it was a fake-out, she did initially join them years ago when she was a less moral person, but had her memories wiped out by Fantomah and was returned to Golarion. After going back to the Worldscape with her friends, she pretends to help Kulan Gath to steal the Scepter, but she is actually following Fantomah's will all along]].

* WretchedHive: Shareen, the Worldscape's capital city, since most of its residents are killers, fighters and thugs brought from all over the cosmos, and many are the worst of the worst. It seems like a truly lawless place since its DeadlyDecadentCourt is just as corrupt and depraved as its people and the only rule they seem to follow is [[BanOnMagic banning magic]] [[TheTheocracy on grounds of it being blasphemy]].

* EvilAlbino: The Holy Therns are depicted as unnaturally pale HumanAliens in service to Empress Camilla, in contrast to ''ComicBook/WarlordOfMars'' where they have more Scandinavian features. Justified as these Therns belong to a completely different version of Mars from the one see in Dynamite comics.

* CoolVsAwesome: Adventurers from an [[TabletopGame/{{Pathfinder}} D&D-inspired game]] joins forces with pulp-era heroes including several classic [[NatureHero jungle kings]] and the ComicBook/WarlordOfMars alongside his [[MultiArmedAndDangerous Green Martian]] [[TheLancer best friend]] against a court of tyrannical slavemasters, their [[LightIsNotGood creepy]] [[AlwaysChaoticEvil White Martian]] [[CadreOfForeignBodyguards enforcers]], an army of intelligent apes and a [[EvilSorcerer an evil sorcerer from Hyborian times]].

* TheBusCameBack: Its revealed what happened to Phondari after her departure in ''Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris'': she spent all this time trapped in the Worldscape.

* AGodAmI: An rare heroic example, as Fantomah makes this claim to Seoni (see BadassBoast below), but assures her that she has nothing to fear from her.

* InfantImmortality: Played with. In Issue #2 Seoni and John Carter find a school bus with the skeletons of many little children, and then they are reanimated by [[spoiler:Kulan Gath]] to attack them.

A third volume was released in late 2018 featuring Dejah Thoris, {{ComicBook/Vampirella}}, Hebert West the Re-Animator and the Swords of Sorrow reunited as a direct follow up to the series.
