The series focuses on the time-displaced Scott Summers, who was plucked out of his own time along with his friends by the present day Beast at the beginning of the ComicBook/AllNewXMen series. He is told that this was done in order to stop his modern-day self, who is described to him as essentially being the next Magneto, from starting Mutant rebellion. This Cyclops meets his modern-day self, and eventually sides with him after learning that all was not as it seemed. He eventually discovers that his father Corsair (Christopher Summers) is actually alive, and after a while, Scott leaves his team in order to spend time with his father and to have the childhood he never had.

->"When I was eight, I had a list of things I wanted to be when I grew up. You know the kind of list I mean. All the kind of stuff you think is possible. All the stuff you can believe about yourself before life starts punching you in the mouth. I wanted to be a pilot like my dad. I wanted to be an astronaut. I wanted to be a pirate. I wanted to be a knight. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to do good. I've seen the man I become. I don't like him very much."

Cyclops is an ongoing monthly comicbook series published by Marvel Comics, debuting in May 2014. The series focuses on the time-displaced Scott Summers, who was plucked out of his own time along with his friends by the present day Beast at the beginning of the ComicBook/AllNewXMen series. He is told that this was done in order to stop his modern day self, who is described to him as essentially being the next Magneto, from starting Mutant rebellion. This Cyclops meets his modern day self, and eventually sides with him after learning that all was not as it seemed. He eventually discovers that his father Corsair (Christopher Summers) is actually alive, and after a while, Scott leaves his team in order to spend time with his father, and to have the childhood he never had.

The two quickly learn that they don't really know how to go about their relationship. Chris was never a parent to a teenager, as he was abducted by aliens when Scott and Alex Summers were pre-teens, and Scott doesn't really know how to be a teenager, since he was always preoccupied with saving the Mutant race even before the time-travel occurred. Chris decides that the two need to bond, so they embark on a father-son road trip across the universe.

Since this book is essentially a spin-off from the "Trial of Jean Grey" story arc, this page contains unmarked spoilers regarding All-New X-Men.

!Tropes associated with Cyclops 2014
* AmbiguousGender: Vass, who works for Baroque, has an androgynous appearance and is not referred to with gender pronouns in their first appearance. Although there is no guarantee their species has sexes recognizable by humans.
* AwkwardFatherSonBondingActivity: The entire series is essentially this for Scott and Christopher.
* BadassAdorable: Scott. Just not with a sword.
* BecomingTheMask: Scott found himself getting along a little too well with some of the more ruthless Space Pirates. A little longer and he may have actually have stayed with them.
* BrainBleach: Hepzibah says something that turns Scott on, so he has this reaction.
* BrokenPedestal: After spending some time with his dad, he realises that he wasn't the romanticised space pirate like he thought.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Scott, by some Kaloseri, which seem to be an alien race of nudists.
* Expy: Ch'od looks a lot like the Abomination.
* FishOutOfWater: Unlike his modern incarnation, this version of Scott has only ever been to space once, literally days before the beginning of the series. It really says something when an Earth superhero, or any in the Marvel Universe for that matter, doesn't know what a Skrull is.
* FutureMeScaresMe: Even after learning that Modern!Scott isn't that bad, Scott still doesn't like what he becomes.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Scott bounces his optic blasts off a pillar, splitting it into three smaller ones, to take out some bounty hunters.
* IncurableCoughOfDeath: has one, and is injecting with something to try to fight it off. Turns out, it's due to the way and he has to inject himself to keep the effect going.
* LatexSpaceSuit: Everyone has skintight space suits.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Ch'od says Scott has his father's sense of humor and Hep says he's as brave.
* NoodleIncident: Baroque, one of Corsair's friends, says that whatever he told Scott about himself and Ch'od's all-nude revue is BlatantLies.
* ParentalNeglect: Corsair, both to Modern!Scott and Teen!Scott, which is why he thinks he's a bad parent.
* RecoilBoost: While Scott is immune to his own powers, in space, the recoil of his beams sends him flying backwards. Hep and Chris quickly figure out a way to use this to his advantage, and give him a face-mask with an energy field that is synchronized with his visor, to avoid the whole ExplosiveDecompression issue.
* SpaceFriction: Averted. Scott tries to stop himself from hitting a ship by stopping his beams, but the remaining force is still there...
* SpacePirates: The Starjammers.
* TeamPet: Cr'reee for the Starjammers.
* TimeSkip: Between issues 2 and 3, a lot of time has passed. Enough for Scott to grow disillusioned about his dad, and for him to see Corsair buying drugs consistently enough to think he's a junkie.
* TheUnintelligible: Cr'reee.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Corsair and Scott in issues 4 and 5 when they are stranded.
* WalkingTheEarth: Well, space, but it still applies. Scott and Corsair decide to travel space for father-son bonding.
* White-Skinned Space Babe: Hepzibah.
* WickedStepmother: Averted. Hepzibah is very nice to Scott, and he really likes her. Although she's not actually his stepmother, he himself says she's his "almost-stepmother".
* WomanScorned: Vileena didn't take Scott breaking her heart well... to say the least...
