* MeaningfulName: Uboa's name is a corruption of "uhoa", a Japanese scream [[note]]for example, Emperor Mateus' death scream in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasy2''[[/note]]. However, the syllables in the creature's name [[TheUnpronounceable don't sound right together]] in Japanese, not unlike "Cthulhu" in English.

* GutturalGrowler: {{Exaggerated}}; the only noise it makes is a [[SensoryAbuse harsh]] static growl. The most comparable noise would be a garbage disposal.

* ShoutOut: He looks like one of Louis Wain's later painting of cats.

A one eyed, one footed crying alien found in the very depths of Mars. In the manga, it is the entity behind the Revival Pouch, a nightmare realm it rules like a god. It imprisoned Madotsuki, Poniko, and numerous other girls inside the dimension to traumatize the into becoming "good girls".

* TheStoic: She barely shows much of a reaction to all of the strange events and creatures she encounters.She's more expressive in the manga, however.

* AlasPoorVillain: She's a complete jerk in the manga, but after learning about her backstory, it's hard not to understand where she's coming from. [[spoiler: Like Madotsuki and presumably other girls before them, she was trapped in the Dream World's LotusEaterMachine against her will, so she could be [[BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood turned]] into a "good girl". When that didn't work, whoever was in charge of the project decided to just lock her away in the program, making her prolonged stay in it a AndIMustScream - situation.]]

* EyesAlwaysShut: The only exceptions being a few of her Effects. Subverted in ''Dream Diary''.

* AmbiguousGender: There was some debate on if Uboa is female like Poniko or if they're male, as they don't have Tertiary Sexual Characteristics (like Nekoin's eyelashes). The Manga subscribes that they're female by giving Uboa a ponytail (like Poniko).

* HalfHumanHybrids: Their species name literally means "bird person".

* ShoutOut: Her full-screen event is possibly one to [[shorturl.at/tAIJY this girl]] from ''Anime/SerialExperimentsLain''.

* BigDamnHeroes: In the manga, [[spoiler:he defeats Mars-san and saves Madotsuki from its DemonicPossession by tossing all the effects inside it]].

* AbusiveParents: The manga [[ImpliedTrope implies]] that she has these, if her [[spoiler: begging Uboa to stop beating her up is an indication as she says "Mom."]]

* AndYourRewardIsClothes: If a towel is considered "clothing."

* AscendedExtra: In the game, she's just another dream resident that aimlessly wanders her room. In the manga and light novel, she's an important character in her own right, to the point of being [[spoiler:the narrator]] in the latter.

* TheCutie: In the manga, she certainly is. [[spoiler: At least at first.]]

* MeaningfulName: In a meta sense, as it was named after the [[shorturl.at/vzFGI first people]] to find it.

* AxCrazy: [[spoiler: In the manga her rage over being beaten up and robbed by Uboa causes her to go on a killing spree.]]

* AmbiguousDisorder: Poniko in the novel is given several PTSD-like association tests at the hospital, and she responds negatively or aggressively at certain prompts.
