* ContinuitySnarl: In ''ComicBook/NewXMen'', Xorn was just an identity fabricated by Magneto so he could infiltrate and destabilize the X-Men from within. Later stories {{Retcon}}ned this so that Xorn was a separate character, a Chinese mutant who deluded himself into thinking he was Magneto after being exposed to the drug Kick. One issue of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe then claimed that Xorn was a duplicate of Magneto, a result of the Scarlet Witch altering reality after [[ComicBook/AvengersDisassembled losing control of her powers]]. The confusion about who really truly is, as well as his connection to Magneto, is acknowledged in-universe: When Vision says [[ComicBook/NewAvengers his files on Xorn are incomplete]], Wolverine retorts that "Xorn's files on Xorn are incomplete", implying that not even Xorn is sure of his true nature at this point.

He was also designed with a genetic flaw that meant his powers often turned against him and would ultimately kill him, meaning he wouldn't remain as a threat to Sinister. Emerging at the physical age of 17 with all the vast psionic power that his half-brother Cable should have had and then some, he turned on his creator, defeated Apocalypse with Magneto's aid, and survived the collapse of the timeline. Afterward, hopeful but mistrustful and mistrusted thanks to his vast power and HairTriggerTemper, he spent a lot of time looking for somewhere to fit in and a cure for his condition, including bonding with his alternate reality parents - particularly [[MommasBoy his mother]]. A loner by nature, he briefly joined the X-Men to help the Mannites, before once again going their separate ways. He would eventually be a member of the X-Men again in his new reality, the ComicBook/AgeOfXMan.

However, in ''ComicBook/AgeOfXMan'', he is visibly much smaller after [[ItMakesSenseInContext melting a significant amount of his wax onto Armor]], and he might be in danger if he burns long enough for it to reach his bones or organs.

* SuperToughness: It's nearly impossible to hurt him thanks to the unique make-up of his skin. Even a bomb strapped to his chest didn't leave a scratch on him. The most he has ever been hurt has been when he was strapped to the front of a rocket to substitute for a heat-resistant tip to get back to Earth, and that was only a few broken bones.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the hellish Age of Apocalypse mental simulation that he, Rockslide, Pixie, and Armor were trapped in with Nate Grey, when Legion was trying to keep the latter locked away. It lasted five minutes, but it felt like months, and Glob became powerful enough to take Rockslide in a fight.
* TookALevelInKindness: Several levels: after his history of rioting and betraying the school, Glob mellowed out considerably, starting with learning lessons in heroism from Spider-Man's special class at the institute. This change is acknowledged in ''ComicBook/NewMutants2019'', in which Glob tells Magik that he had an epiphany one day about how he had become a hateful man like his father and wanted to change.
