** Everyone in the game is based on a Classic Disney Movie. Sam, on the other hand, takes his inspiration from a modern one [[labelnote:note]]''WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog'' came out in 2009[[/labelnote]].
** Additionally, Sam is the only character in the game known to be from the Jubilee Port.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers:
** The monster in Dwarfs' Mine aside, Jamil is the only Overblot victim to not be a dorm leader. However, this does continue the theme of victims being based on the Great Seven Disney villains.
** Idia and Ortho are the only victims who overblotted at the same time and become a DualBoss.
** Malleus overblots early in the chapter as opposed to near the end, has a much larger area of effect than the others, and is somehow able to maintain full control of himself.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: His slightly pointed ears and glowing eyes, and is stated to be ''much'' older than he looks, but no official words been given on what he is

The headmaster of Night Raven College. He's the one who takes in the protagonist after they fall into Twisted Wonderland, giving them a place to stay and enrolling them in Night Raven College while he searches for a way to send them home.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: With the current exception of Sam whose past is unknown, Vargas is the only teacher who did ''not'' attend Night Raven College in his youth, his voice line instead mentioning that he used to be enrolled in a different Magic school in the past before becoming a teacher in Night Raven College.

* PromotedToPlayable: The 2023 rerun of "Glorious Masquerade" has him be made playable as a limited SSR unit.

** Meleanor Draconia: In order to win against the Silver Owls in the Human-Fae war, Meleanor expended much of her magic to defeat them and overblotted. Though the name is unknown at the time, Silver, Sebek, Yuu and Grim all surmise that Meleanor died in her overblot state. Meleanor is ultimately defeated and given a MercyKill by the remorseful Dawn Knight, ensuring the Silver Owl's victory.

An organization that is not associated with any particular government or country with a focus on investigating blots and Overblots in general. In response to this, they have authority on capturing certain overblotted individuals for their investigations, with some meeting a grim fate. They are led by the Shroud family, a branch family of the Jupiter family and located in Isle of Lamentation. They serves as an antagonist group in Chapter 6.

* MonsterBrotherCutieSister: DownplayedTrope in that Henrique isn't monstrous and more, {{Gonk}} looking, It's at least implied that his sister, Leah, is considered beautiful according to the knights under him.

* FantasticRacism: Have a bad case of elitism and racism against those not of dragons among the Fae Folk and easily deride and berate Lilia for being a bat Fae. It's to the point that they ' exile Lilia and disrespect Meleanor's LastRequest for Lilia to hatch Malleus' egg in her stead and choose to be UngratefulBastard's when it's ultimately Lilia who manages to get Malleus to hatch.

* OutlivingOnesOffspring: Her daughter and son-in-law passed away and the only living relative she had left is her grandson.

* FatalFlaw: Stubbornness and Pride. Lilia admitted that from a young age Meleanor would always throw his warnings to the wind and would constantly cause trouble for both herself and Lilia, and given that she's descended from a very powerful lineage of fae royalty she became quite powerful but also grew to view herself as above all possible opponents (or at least human opponents) no matter their tricks and tactics. [[spoiler: When the Silver Owls and their allies have the castle surrounded Meleanor refuses to believe it possible for them to defeat her and once more ignores Lilia's warnings to flee the castle for both hers and Malleus's sakes which leads to her death.]]
* GoneHorriblyRight: [[spoiler:Before sending her son's egg away with Lilia, Melenoar gave her son one last blessing that was meant to protect him in a time of war, that he'd be revered by the fae, and feared by humans. Fast forward centuries later, Melenoar's blessing is shown to be working... with Malleus being isolated by many in a time of peace and is seen as TheDreaded to the people that he could mingle and make connections with, connections and networking that could be useful for his future as the crown prince of Briar valley. The blessing was twisted to a curse instead during a time of peace]].

* EveryoneHasStandards: [[spoiler:Baul was absolutely pissed and disgusted by the Royal Senate for taking away Malleus's egg away from Lilia despite the fact that it was Meleanor's very LastRequest for Lilia to hatch and take care of Malleus, and later for being UngratefulBastard's towards Lilia after he essentially saved the royal family by making Malleus hatch, all because they couldn't accept that Lilia's familial love for Malleus is what ultimately got Malleus to finally hatch out of his egg after two centuries and that Lilia "tainted" the Draconia Blood Purity with his love. Had Lilia not stop him, Baul would be all too willing to go on a rampage at them for Lilia's sake.]]

* BorrowinSamedi:
* {{Bowdlerise}}: The skull tattoo and markings on his design is removed for the English localization in order to avoid unfortunate implications that his original design would bring.

* {{Catchphrase}}: "Aren't I kind?" and variants, mostly when he does anyone a favor, especially the protagonist.

* SadistTeacher: As many characters note, Crewel is rather harsh when it comes to teaching. In his introduction scene, he exclaims that he'll "beat the names and appearances of 100 types of medicines into our little brains." Not to mention that he speaks to his students as if they were dogs. In the Halloween event story, he was ready to use fire magic on misbehaving Night Raven visitors until he was stopped by Trein.
** It seems Divus also likes to make students that upset him break down and beg for forgiveness, given he puposefully gave Epel an ImpossibleTask to try getting this reaction when Epel accidentally spilled a rare necter. Epel catches on thanks to Cater and instead proves himself to be TheDeterminator.

* BreakingOldTrends: Just like Stitch, he is someone from Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon itself since [[spoiler:Mickey]] appears in the game.

* PetTheDog: Despite all the emotional turmoil he's caused Leona on account of being born into their family, his initial appearance and interactions with Leona imply that despite those circumstances, Leona still can't bring himself to be a jerk to him directly. That said, it's also possible that Leona has no choice given that Cheka is still next in line for the throne and his brother's kid.

* MoralityPet: Despite all the emotional turmoil he's caused Leona on account of being born into their family, his initial appearance and interactions with Leona imply that despite those circumstances, Leona still can't bring himself to be a jerk to him directly.

* GoodParents: She tried her best to raise her son as best as she could alone.
