He spends the majority of season three as a disembodied head trapped with Megatron aboard Omega Supreme, and just when he finally gets a new body, [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness Megatron blasts him (He recovers).]] And in the finale, The [=AllSpark=] fragment that was keeping him alive is pulled out, thus killing him. And if you count the comic adaptation, he gets humiliated and blackmailed by Professor Princess. One can't help but feel a bit sorry for him.
