* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Certain mystical devices in the ruins will resonate with Trico's horns, driving it into an uncontrollable frenzy. The big creature's [[RedEyesTakeWarning eyes will glow]]. That's your cue to ''run''. [[spoiler:Later on in the game after Trico has grown fond of the boy and it ends up brained washed again, it's eyes can be shown flashing multiple colors that time, indicating that it's [[FightingFromTheInside desperately trying to wrangle control back of it body.]]]]

* GutturalGrowler: A rather literal example but it's roar is much deeper and more raspy than our Trico.

* ShooTheDog: [[spoiler:At the end, after Trico brings him home, in order to prevent his village's people from killing Trico.]]

* DoesNotLikeShoes: He's barefooted the entire game, save for the ending cutscene after he's returned home [[spoiler: and grown up]]. It doesn't slow him down, even in cold weather, rocks and metal. Justified in that he was actually stolen while asleep in his home with no other supplies available in the game's locations.

* BadassBaritone: His narration as an adult is delivered in deep rumbles. The Boy we see in the game proper is an aversion, being a prepubescent TenorBoy.

* BrokenAngel: If you look carefully you'll notice that its wings have been cut off, perhaps due to some previous injury or maybe by the armored soldiers to act as some kind of guard dog.

* ImpossiblyGracefulGiant: Despite being roughly the size of a tyrannosaurus, Trico has the agility and balance of a cat, being able to jump very far and high and can balance on very small standing points.

* InvincibleBoogeymen: [[PlayingWithATrope Played with.]] There ''are'' things the boy can do in order to take them out himself, but they're so hard to pull off in the head of the moment and the possessed armors often come in mobs of them that actually accomplishing those tactics is far too [[AwesomeButImpractical impractical]] to be a reliable. As such, the most effective strategy is to just avoid them until the boy can either get back to Trico or get Trico to them.

* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:There is a few hints that Trico is consciously aware of what his body is doing when [[BrainwashedAndCrazy he was possessed by the Master of the Valley/the antenna rooms]]. Trico always spits up the body once he manages to regain control of his body, and after the second time it happens his body language seems very remorseful. Also, during the ending, Trico is able to carry the unconscious boy back to his village, which he'd only know where it was if he was conscious/aware during his first time there.]]

* ConversionOfNinjutsu: ''Very much [[AvertedTrope Averted]]''. [[spoiler:The boy's Trico would have likely died if the boy hadn't thought fast enough to destroy the Master of the Valley.]]
