* VehicularTurnabout: Though the crew didn't strictly steal the ''Roci'', they obtained it under dubious circumstances and have no intention of giving it back. The hostilities between Mars and Earth make this a moot point for the first two seasons, but after the TimeSkip and truce in season 3, Mars sues the crew to have their property returned.

The ''Rocinante'' began her life as the MCRN ''Tachi'', a Martian Navy corvette that operated out of the MCRN ''Donnager'', the Martian Navy's flagship. In the wake of the ''Donnager'''s destruction, the ''Canterbury'' survivors claimed the ''Tachi'' as their own and re-christened her as the ''Rocinante''[[note]]Spanish for "Work Horse" as well as the name of Literature/DonQuixote's horse, see Jim Holden's entry below[[/note]]. She's given a superficial makeover while at ''Tycho'' to look like a common gas hauler, but still retains her original arsenal of weapons.

Like most things with Amos, though, itís hard to say for sure, as things that would be meaningful for anyone else are often (but not always) meaningless to him, and itís often anybodyís guess which is which.

->''"Go in too fast... and the room eats you."''
->'''Played by:''' Creator/ThomasJane

A mental construct generated by a cluster of the Protomolecule left behind on the ''Rocinante'' following the battle with the Hybrid. It has taken the form and consciousness of Joe Miller and appears only to Holden as a hallucination, guiding him towards an unknown purpose.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: He never remembers his previous sessions with Holden, since each iteration is a new construct, repeated until the desired result is achieved.
* NiceHat: Wears Miller's trademark fedora.
* SpiritAdvisor: The simplest way of explaining it. The Investigator seems to be the disembodied consciousness of Miller after he and Julie smashed Eros into Venus, repurposed by the Protomolecule to guide Holden towards an unknown end. He appears and disappears without warning.
* TheUnintelligible: The first few times he appears to Holden, he is distressed and incoherent, babbling random things Miller has previously said. He does get a few moments of lucidity, but these tend to be brief.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's impossible to discuss the Investigator without spoiling Miller's fate. Hell, it's impossible to even ''look'' at him without doing that.

->''"I thought patching up a bullet wound was gonna be the strangest thing I did today."''
->'''Played by:''' Creator/TerryChen

A Belter botanist on Ganymede Station. When Ganymede is caught in the crossfire of a Earth and Mars battle, he finds himself taken to Tycho station and begins a search to find his daughter, Mei.
----
* AdultFear: His daughter is being held by a group of people with dubious morals that likely want to experiment on her with a dangerous virus.
* TheChewToy: Life is not kind to him. His daughter contracts a rare disease, he's taken millions of miles away during an attack, leaving Mei alone [[spoiler: with a doctor who may have been using her for his own experiments. Then he watches a group of Inners get shoved out the airlock.]] And that's ''before'' he encounters the crew of the ''Rocinante''.
* FireForgedFriends: He initially sees the Roci crew as dangerous thugs who dragged him on a half-baked mission that he nonetheless needs to find Mei. In return, they consider him spineless [[TheLoad deadweight]] that they're helping in order to find TheConspiracy. After saving Holden [[spoiler: from the Hybrid]], they've warmed up to each other considerably.
* {{Foil}}: To Jules-Pierre Mao. Both are scientists desperately searching for their daughters after a tragic incident, hoping for their safe return. However, Prax is a Belter without any power who nonetheless holds more of an ethical backbone than the manipulative Mao.
* GenderBlenderName: In some sense. He's probably named after the moon Praxidike, which naturally has no biological sex; however, its namesake is a Greek goddess (or in some accounts, a facet of Persephone) of vengeance and judicial punishment.
* GreenThumb: As a botanist, his job was to help develop new plant strains to grow in Ganymede's agricultural domes. He says that he is better with plants than with people. Aboard the ''Rocinante'', he cobbles together a plant-based air-filtration system to ease the burden on the ship's limited air scrubber supply.
* NiceGuy: Is nothing less than polite to everyone he meets. And even when he knows his daughter could be brutally tortured and experimented on, he makes the call to save Draper and Avasarala first.
* PapaWolf: When he finds his daughter's backpack, he opens fire on a room full of armed people.
* PutOnABus: After the TimeSkip in "Delta-V", [[spoiler:he and his daughter leave for Ganymede Station to aid in the rebuilding effort]].
* ScienceHero: Slowly evolving into this. [[spoiler: He's the one who masterminds a plan to lure the Hybrid out of the ''Roci'' by comparing it to his plants.]] He similarly uses his science know-how to improve the Roci's air filtration system.
