* BoredWithVictory: VictoryIsBoring: Heavily implied to be what drives his conquests he is a blood knight seeking new challenges and after he conquers one he has to be find another because he is just that bored.

* AmbitionISEvil: Saki was the most ambitious of the 5 warriors and it was this ambition that made him susceptible to the Tengu's temptation.
*AwesomeEgo: He really is smug and arrogant but with how powerful and invincible he is his ego comes off as very justified and every moment he is onscreen he backs it up.

* BadBoss: He regards his minions as virtually nothing punishing his mystics for suggesting he should deal with Karai. After the turtles defeat them for the first time he openly calls him the lowest of his minions despite them being his most powerful and loyal in the end he just let's them be killed by the turtles and acolytes without a care.

* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: He's much less subtle and more active in his pursuits to kill his opposition, and doesn't have a goal involving getting back to his home planet or getting revenge; he just wants to TakeOverTheWorld. He also lacks the personal enmity the previous Shredders had with the Turtles, and thus frequently underestimates them.

* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: He's much less subtle Despite having the same voice actor he has virtually nothing in common with Ch'rell. Ch'rell relied almost entirely on science while the Tengu Shredder relies almost entirely on magic. Ch'rell had a relationship and more active in dynamic with each of his pursuits minions while the Tengu Shredder didn't bother to kill his opposition, and doesn't have form relationships with anyone. Ch'rell was motivated by a goal involving getting back desire to his return home planet or getting revenge; he just wants to TakeOverTheWorld. He also lacks and exact revenge on the utroms while the Tengu Shredder is driven solely by a need for a challenge which motivates his conquest of the world. Finally Ch'rell had a personal enmity the previous Shredders had grudge with the Turtles, turtles which made him a NoNonsenseNemisis who took no chances with them while the Tengu Shredder did not know them and thus frequently underestimates them.would often underestimate them.
* BloodKnight: He is obsessed with finding a good challenge and is often disappointed with how easily he can crush everything to the point that he is full on excited when the turtles and acolytes prove themselves even a semblance of a challenge.
* BoredWithVictory: Heavily implied to be what drives his conquests he is a blood knight seeking new challenges and after he conquers one he has to be find another because he is just that bored.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: His interaction with Karai during their battle is very creepy having quite a few rape analogies especially the moment he forcibly holds her in place and strips away her armor before commenting on how fine of a slave she would be.

* FlatCharacter: Saki nor the Tengu get much in the way of characterization except for their goal to conquer the world.

to:

* FlatCharacter: Saki nor Subverted Legend of the Tengu get much five dragons definitely looks like this will be the case but after his resurrection he gains a personality that completely contrasts him from Ch'rell and every other villain in the way of characterization except for their goal to conquer the world.show.

* FusionDance: Both Saki and the Tengu merge together.

to:

* FusionDance: Both Saki and the Tengu merge together.together however it seems to be Saki who is the dominant personality.
* GoForSlavery: He makes a very suggestive comment to Karai after stripping her armor off even saying she would make a fine slave. In his backstory he is shown to be surrounded by 2 slave girls.

* ItAmusedMe: He constantly makes comments about how he is seeking amusement and it seems to be the driving reason for a lot of his actions be they ones that are truly monstrous, just borderline trolling or a weird mixture of the 2.

* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Only implied considering it is a Saturday morning cartoon but the women surrounding him in his backstory are clearly sex slaves his confrontation with Karai also has a lot of rape analogies.

** RealityWarper: He can create almost anything or alter the world around him in almost anyway he wishes. This varies from turning New York into a hellscape, creating weapons, or an army of monsters.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: In a sense. We get his basic backstory in that he was a powerful warrior who got corrupted and we also get to see him display his power many times over. However, not much more in the way of characterization and exploring his motives or personality more in-depth are given. It also didn't help that the Ninja Tribunal season was only about half as long as an ordinary season, thus ensuring that the Demon Shredder wouldn't get anywhere near as much focus or development as Ch'rell did.

monster.
* TakeOverTheWorld: A rather intriguing case as it is very clear he is not even remotely interested in actually ruling the world and is only doing it because he is so bored with his great power that taking over the world is the only thing that requires even a little effort and once he actually does conquer something he no longer pays it any heed.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He runs into this every now and again as he pays the turtles no heed even after they turned into dragons which results in him getting blasted through the roof. Hamato Yoshi effortlessly hands him his ass while he's in the middle of trying to threaten him.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: In a sense. We get his basic Ultimately averted as he has just as much backstory and characterization as Ch'rell the only reason he comes off as underdeveloped is because of first the type of person he is in that he was a powerful warrior who got corrupted doesn't bother to interact with anyone and we also get to see him display second that unlike Ch'rell he doesn't have a personal history with the heroes but he is still given a character and motive of his own in particular that he is a blood knight so bored with his great power many times over. However, not much more in that he became a conqueror as a form of entertainment for himself the way season also gives hints that he is a product of his time as his treatment of women shows.

characterization and exploring his motives or personality more in-depth are given. It also didn't help that motive the Ninja Tribunal season was only about half conflict with him just isn't personal as long as an ordinary season, thus ensuring that the Demon Shredder wouldn't get anywhere near as much focus or development as such he seems underdeveloped but he is actually no less explored than Ch'rell did.so this trope is averted despite his limited appearances.

* Diabolus exNihilo: Even though they get an expanded role, there is no explanation as to what they are or where they came from.

Added DiffLines:

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he significantly softens up in the fifth season (due to the Tribunal generally being massive jerks), he's a bit rough and [[BrutalHonesty very blunt]], with at least one of his lessons almost getting Leonardo killed, and at one point smacks him over the head for being too long-winded about his troubles. Outside of this, he's a helpful teacher, and he does enjoy Leonardo's company.

* AdaptationalVillainy: While Saki is no saint in the original comics and despite Adaptational Heroism mention above, he is far to evil than any incarnation after his fall.

Added DiffLines:

* AdaptationalHeroism: To a way minor extent, the original Oroku Saki has no records of originally being a hero, while in here he was one of the five heroes before falling to evil.

Added DiffLines:

* MergerOfSouls: The Shredder Tengu and Oroku Saki became one after the former made a deal with the latter.

Added DiffLines:

* TheDreaded: Given that he is considered the greatest evil to ever walk the face of the Earth and the immense power he wields, the Ninja Tribunal, the Ancient One, and soon everyone else, has a good reason to fear him and try their hardest to keep him from resurrecting.
* FallenHero: He was once a comrade of the Ninja Tribunal before becoming corrupted by the Tengu and merging with him.

Added DiffLines:

* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: The reason they turned on Karai. Unlike Ch'rell, she had no respect for them and ignored their opinions, declaring that since she possessed the Heart of Tengu, they would do whatever she pleased.

Added DiffLines:

* TheVoiceless: Hisomi is the only member to not speak. Justified since he embodies silence, one of the three pillars of ninjutsu.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Saki nor the Tengu get much in the way of characterization except for their goal to conquer the world; he's more an obstacle for the Turtles to defeat, and the most powerful one up to the point he was introduced.
