* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: In ''Legends'', Max is a complacent dimwit who enjoys stuffing his face and never frets much about the crimes at the palace beyond showing sympathy for some people like Leia. However, the Disney comic ''Return of the Jedi- Max Rebo 1'' shows him fighting suicidal urges due to the misery of living around Jabba and seeing friends like Oola die while he has to be a StepfordSmiler who is constantly in danger himself.
* AdaptationalBadass: In ''Legends'', Max is an easily cowed and complacent dimwit who never opposes Jabba beyond showing sympathy for some of his victims like Leia. However, the Disney comic ''Return of the Jedi- Max Rebo 1'' has him briefly try to poison Jabba.
* ArmlessBiped: As a result of a retcon to make the Ortolan species more in line with the original intent of the Max Rebo puppet, what appears to be arms are actually their legs, which they still use as arms. In ''Legends'', Ortolans were usually depicted as humanoid (and most writers presumed Rebo's lower body was concealed by the organ).
* BigEater: All Ortolans are this. Jabba bribed Rebo [[FoodAsBribe with free meals]] in exchange for his band being a permanent attraction in Jabba's palace. To say that the rest of the band (who are neither Ortolan nor as food-motivated) was pissed with Rebo's decision would be an understatement, and the band broke up after Jabba's death.
* BizarreAlienBiology: He can eat and drink through his toes, again, like all members of his species.
* ButtMonkey: Downplayed, but as of “From the Desert Comes a Stranger” he’s narrowly escaped two literally explosive battles on Tatooine; first was Luke Skywalker’s defeat of Jabba the Hutt, then [[spoiler:the Pyke Syndicate’s bombing of the Sanctuary.]] The little guy keeps losing his [[WesternAnimation/RobotChicken gigs!]]
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: He's the responsible one to Azool Phantelle's foolish one, the latter of who swindled people for fun, [[BullyingADragon regardless of how risky a target they were]].
* IdenticalTwinMistake: He and his brother Azool look exactly alike aside from Azool wearing a black vest. This gets Rebo into trouble when Azool starts swindling people in Jabba's territory, with people mistaking him for his brother.
* MadeOfIron: While he did survive the destruction of Jabba's sail barge, he was on the barge's top deck when it exploded and was sent flying off the side opposite of the Sarlacc.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: The ''FACPOV'' short story "Fancy Man" reveals that Max is just a shortened version of the name "Maximillian".
* SchrodingersCanon: In ''Legends'', Max Rebo is actually a stage name, with his real name being "Siiruulian Phantele". While this has yet to be explicitly canonized, the fact that his brother Azool has the surname (albeit [[InconsistentSpelling spelled as "Phantelle"]]) suggests this may still be canon.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Just like in ''Legends'', he and the rest of the band fled from Jabba's sail barge when the skirmish at the Pit of Carkoon erupted, saving them from certain doom. However, the band split up afterward.
* TragicKeepsake: His red ball jet organ was inherited from his father. When the skirmish at the Pit of Carkoon breaks out, he laments that he has to part ways with it forever.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: In “From the Desert Comes a Stranger”, he isn't seen performing in the Sanctuary [[spoiler:before it gets bombed]]. Apparently he had the night off, leaving the door open for future appearances.

[[CruelAndUnusualDeath fed to a minute rancor]] after defying him. Even worse, this was only days before Jabba is killed by the heroes of screentime, the film, meaning they could probably have freed her if she'd still been alive (in ''Legends'', Luke Skywalker actually was intending to do so, but sadly she got on Jabba's bad side before the plan could be realized).
* CensorShadow: It is something of a small miracle that Oola's outfit made
it was into a movie rated PG, as the transparent fishnet allows her breasts to be plainly seen in proper lighting. However, Jabba's palace is dark enough to get where this is not immediately apparent in the scenes she is actually in; it's mostly notable in [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oola.png behind the scenes pictures.]]

Jabba
Wise was the Hutt's Uncle Ziro conspired with Count Dooku to kidnap Jabba's son Rotta, reasoning that when sister of Myarga Anjiliac Atirue, and the chief diplomatic envoy of the Hutt Clan during the High Republic era. During the Drengir crisis, the Jedi sent Order came to retrieve Rotta died, her to negotiate a lasting peace between the Republic would be forced to apprehend Jabba, leading to Ziro gaining control of their clan. When and the conspiracy unraveled, Ziro was imprisoned on Coruscant. Cad Bane freed him and turned him over to the Hutt Council, who feared that Ziro might tell the Republic of their many dirty dealings. Ziro escaped the Hutts, but could not outrun his past.Hutts.

* ArcVillain: One of the main villains of the movie, and returns as the secondary antagonist (behind Cad Bane) of his titular arc in the series.
* AssholeVictim: With the possible exception of his mother, nobody really liked Ziro enough to care about his death at Sy Snootle's hands. Not even Obi-Wan Kenobi cares enough to look into his death any further, in favor of trying to capture Cad Bane (who only regretted not being able to kill him himself) instead.
* BadBoss: When one of his most "trusted" assassin droids failed a mission, he was outright glad, that he finally had a reason to have it dismantled.
* BigBadWannabe: He entered into an alliance with Dooku solely to gain hold of Jabba's territories and with it, control over the Hutt Council. However, he ends up kriffing the whole thing.
* BlatantLies: When Mama asks him what he's been doing all the years he didn't call, Ziro claims he was doing things on and off solely for the betterment of his fellow Hutts.
* ButtMonkey: Of all the Hutts introduced in the Star Wars villain, Ziro is probably the least competent and threatening of all of them. Most of his appearances have him whining about his own problems and trying to kill him.
* CampStraight: Despite his effeminate speech-pattern, easily-induced fits of hysteria, and colorful appearance, he's straight as revealed in "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS3E9HuntForZiro Hunt for Ziro]]".
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: A minor example; during his escape from prison, he complained right after being released because it was too bright out and would've preferred the breakout to have occurred at night.
* ComicBookFantasyCasting: His voice was based on Truman Capote's.
* DeathByWomanScorned: He is shot to death by Sy Snootles, of all people.
* [[DramaQueen Drama Crime Lord]]: Just listen to how he describes life in prison to Cad Bane...
* DirtyCoward: Best exemplified in the pilot movie: Ziro takes great pride in his involvement in kidnapping his nephew's son to Count Dooku, Padme Amidala and in private, but becomes utterly terrified [[NeverMyFault and blames Dooku for what happened when he's forced to admit to his actions to Jabba.]]
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: He said he couldn't bring himself to tell Mama the Hutt that his father had run away and died because he didn't want her to be miserable.
* EvilLaugh: He has probably the hammiest laughter in ''The Clone Wars''. Lampshaded by Ahsoka, who heard it in a vision of hers in "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS3E7Assassin Assassin]]":
-->'''Ahsoka:''' ... I hear laughter... ''Bizarre'' laughter...
* EvilUncle: He tried to have his nephew Jabba and Jabba's son Rotta murdered, so he could take over Jabba's "businesses" and position.
* FatBastard: Typical for a Hutt. However, he takes the cake when he plots to have his great-nephew kidnapped and killed in order to rise in the Hutt ranks.
* {{Homage}}: His voice, appearance, and mannerism are a homage to Creator/TrumanCapote.
* HatedByAll: As an egotistical and smug DirtyCoward who's also completely incompetent as a crime lord, Ziro is loathed by just about everyone, even his fellow Hutts. The only reason the family elects keep him alive ''at all'' after his attempt to kidnap Jabba's son is due to him sitting on and threatening to leak sensitive information that could incriminate all of them. Even then, Jabba manages to hire and use [[WomanScorned Sy Snootles]] to kill and take the information on his behalf, and is very pleased with the end result.
* HotSkittyOnWailordAction: Granted, he's small for a Hutt, but Sy is still considerably smaller than he is.
* InterspeciesRomance: At some point, he (Hutt) had a relationship with Sy Snootles (Pa'lowick).
* LargeHam: Being based on the CampGay Truman Capote, this aspect of his character was inevitable.
* ShoutOut: As he dies, he mutters "[[Literature/TheWonderfulWizardOfOz Oh, what a world]]..."

EnemyMine: When Keeve reveals that his father had run away and died Lourna killed Myarga, she convinces Skarabda to have the Hutts form a truce with the Republic once more to combat the Nihil, if only because he didn't want her to be miserable.
* EvilLaugh: He has probably
the hammiest laughter in ''The Clone Wars''. Lampshaded Nihil are likely put their foot down on the foots if their territory is claimed by Ahsoka, who heard it in a vision of hers in "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS3E7Assassin Assassin]]":

* HatedByAll: As an egotistical and smug DirtyCoward who's also completely incompetent as a crime lord, Ziro is loathed by just about everyone, even his fellow Hutts. The only reason the family elects keep him alive ''at all'' after his attempt to kidnap Jabba's son is due to him sitting on and threatening to leak sensitive information that could incriminate all of them. Even then, Jabba manages to hire and use [[WomanScorned Sy Snootles]] to kill and take the information on his behalf, and is very pleased
resuming negotiations with the end result.

He was eventually imprisoned in Megalox, becoming one of the Galaxy. After criminal rulers of the Galactic Empire raided her domain, she and her henchmen fled. * {{Acrofatic}}: Downplayed. Grakkus was more muscular than fat in his prime, but he was still bulky enough to be barely mobile on his own. He was augmented with cybernetic spider legs to help him move faster.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Unlike most other Hutts, who are always shown speaking subtitled or translated Huttese, Grakkus speaks Basic in his dealings with others, like Ziro and Mama.
* AllThereInTheManual: His full name is provided in the ''Smuggler's Guide''.
* ArcVillain: He is the primary antagonist of "Showdown on the Smugglers' Moon", the second arc of the ''Star Wars'' comic series.

* BadassInDistress: [[spoiler:After being defeated by Kreel, Grakkus is arrested by the Empire and his collection is seized by Darth Vader]].
* ButtMonkey: All three of non-cameo his appearances have so far ended in pain and humiliation for him. His attempt to collect Luke as the crown of his collection of Jedi artifacts ends with him under arrest and his collection seized by the Empire. His attempt to double-cross Han Solo ends with him still a captive, and now outfitted with a device tuned to subject him to electric shocks at Han's whim. His attempt to use Terex and Poe Dameron to escape jail ends with him still in jail, but now minus the force field that protected said jail from the planet's crushing gravity.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: Has a large collection of Jedi artifacts including lightsabers and holocrons.
* {{Cyborg}}: Has several artificial spider-like legs, allowing him to move faster than normal Hutts.
* FatBastard: Averted for a Hutt, he is instead pretty muscular. Played straight later as he has lost quite a bit of muscle while in prison for several decades.
* PlayingBothSides: Manipulates both the Resistance and First Order into breaking him out of Megalox by offering information on Lor San Tekka to whoever frees him.
* StoutStrength: While in better physical shape than other Hutts in his prime, Grakkus still had some bulk on him. He's also strong enough to lift a full-grown humanoid adult off the ground with one hand.
