* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: The Fiendish Five were a group of criminals who worked outside of normal society. By contrast the Klaww Gang weasel their way into prestigious lifestyles and pretend to have legitimate fronts. Dimitri is a nightclub owner, Rajan lives in the palace and desperately tries to convince others he's royalty, the Contessa and Neyla are DirtyCops, Jean Bison owns a logging business and Arpeggio is a stereotypical aristocrat. They'll put on a front of legitimacy even if it's an open secret they're criminals.
** Compared to the members of the Fiendish Five who all had different schemes and operated independently of each other the Klaww Gang members are united by the illegal spice they trade, though they do have their own jobs to do when not trading it. Rajan manufactures the spice, Jean Bison transports it, the Contessa uses it during her hypnosis, Dimitri puts it in the food he serves at his night club and Arpeggio (and later Neyla) uses the hate caused by Dimitri's serving of it and the hypnosis techniques perfected by the Contessa to fuel Clockwerk's parts.

** The Fiendish Five has a personal connection to Sly by being the ones who killed his parents, motivated by their leader's jealousy towards the Cooper Clan. The Klaww Gang has no prior connection to Sly or anyone in the gang, or even to the Cooper Clan as a whole. They also share the same goal as the gang in ''Sly 2'', only for a different motivation.

The leader and founder of the Fiendish Five, Clockwerk is a monstrous robotic owl of unknown origin. He turned himself into a robot in order to hunt down and destroy the Cooper family, his greatest rival. He is at least 3200 years old, showing up even in the earliest parts of the ''Thievius Raccoonus'' (''Thieves in Time'' marks him as ''even older'' as he's visible in the background of the ice age level). He possessed an incredibly well-fortified hideout in the Krakarov Volcano in Russia before being defeated by Sly and having his parts sent to a museum in Cairo. But then the Klaww Gang stole his body parts and repurposed them for their criminal schemes. The Cooper Gang managed to steal these powerful components back only to have them stolen by Jean Bison after the Lumberjack Games. From there the pieces were sent to Arpeggio which turned out to be part of a plan to not only acquire Clockwerk's powerful body for himself but also his immortality through a complex scheme involving the operations of the rest of the Klaww Gang. However, Neyla betrayed Arpeggio and took the Clockwerk frame for own desires, dubbing herself "Clock-La" and engaging the Cooper Gang in battle. Clock-La was defeated and Carmelita destroyed Clockwerk's core which killed Neyla and caused his body to decay into nothing. However, while the threat of Clockwerk was presumably eliminated forever victory came at a great cost; Bentley lost the use of his legs due to a crushing bite from Clock-La's beak which was a serious blow to Murray and the team's morale.

In the present day, Le Paradox has come into control of Paris, with banners of him on his museum and even a giant scupture of his head on the Eiffel Tower. The ending cutscene of the episode, "40 Thieves", shows Dimitri illustrating on hologram Le Paradox's Gang logo over Earth. This, coupled with illustrating Le Paradox and his Rat Trooper guards standing on Earth in the opening cutscene of the Paris Epilogue, both allude to Le Paradox not only having become the ruler of Paris, but the whole world!
