The Yo-Kai that appear in the sequel series ''Anime/YokaiWatchShadowside''.
----
[[foldercontrol]]

!Prominent Yo-Kai
[[folder:Jibanyan]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jibanyanlight.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Jibanyan's Lightside form]]

30 years after the original series, Jibanyan returns with a brand new look. Now partnered with Nate's daughter Natsume, they work together to battle mischievous Yo-Kai.
----
* TheAce: Zigzagged. He is incredibly powerful, but can suffer from TheWorfEffect and StrongAsTheyNeedToBe
* AmnesiacHero: Has no memories of the past. Though episode 11 makes it clear that [[spoiler:he regained at least part of his memory sometime before episode 3.]]
* ArtEvolution: Jibanyan's appearance changes from his original one especially in his Shadowside form.
* CatsHateWater: He is extremely ticked off when Natsume summons him to fight Gesodrill, a squid yo-kai, because of this trope. He refuses to fight, tells Natsume to never summon him near water, and [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere leaves]].
* BrainWashedAndCrazy: Gets infected with the soranaki virus. It isnt pretty
* FromNobodyToNightmare: In the orginal series, he was so weak he couldn't even dent a truck. In Shadowside he's regularly destroying trucks with extreme prejudice and causing traffic accidents.
* KidHeroAllGrownUp: Jibanyan is no longer the cute little kitten he used to be [[VocalEvolution with the cute little voice he had]] 30 years ago.
* IneffectualLoner: Starts out as this, initially refusing to join Natsume in the movie.
* TookALevelInBadass: Jibanyan has drastically gained more power than he did in the original series. Especially in his Shadowside form he can practically defeat almost any Yo-Kai he encounters.
* VocalEvolution: Jibanyan's voice sounds [[BadassBaritone incredibly deep]] compared to how he sounded in the original series. Granted, this series takes place 30 years after the original series, [[KidHeroAllGrownUp so he would've gotten older by then.]]
** Though in episode 12, when he reverts back to his original form, he gains his cute voice again briefly.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Whisper]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/whispershadowside.png]]
[[caption-width-right:250:Whisper's new appearance]]

30 years later. Whisper returns with a brand new look. Like Natsume's father Nate, he becomes her butler. As always he'll try his best to provide info about Yo-Kai.
----
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Whisper is considerably more competent than he was in the original series. He teaches Natsume about the new Yo-Kai watch and is well versed in the concept of Lightside and Shadowside forms.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** While he's still a ButtMonkey even after all these years, episode 8 shows that if people aren't willing to cooperate, [[BewareTheSillyOnes he allows them to see him so he can scare an answer out of them.]]
** In episode 28, when the others are having trouble stopping Sebas-san, he tackles her and stops her from controlling Keisuke and his friends.
* ButtMonkey: Like in the orignal series, Whisper is prone to being this.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: While this is still part of his backstory, this trait is considerably toned down as he isn't relied upon to identify Yo-Kai anymore and thus doesn't make things up while frantically browsing Yo-Kaipedia.
* PerpetualSmiler: Not quite as expressive as his past self. Usually anytime we see him, he's sporting a toothy grin. It helps with the unsettling appearance Shadowside forms can have.
* SmugSnake: Much like in the original show, he provides snarky commentary while ignoring his own personal flaws. Though unlike Micchy, he's not quick to throw himself into danger and is mostly just full of hot air.
* SuddenAnatomy: Whisper used to just be a wisp-like ghost. Now he has ears and fingers.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Micchy and Junior.
* TruerToTheText: Whisper's compentance is now closer to his original portrayal in the very first game.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: Out of all the reccuring Yo-kai, Whisper probably looks the least like how he used to. Though him having hair and wearing clothes makes him resemble [[spoiler:Nonuttin, his former self]].
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Or purple, in this case.

[[folder:Komasan]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0487efa0e52acdfae2b29f29aaad9330e3bad90d_hq.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Komasan's Lightside form]]
A dog that belonged to Akinori's family was crushed under a Komainu statue and died, turning into this Yo-kai.
----
* AnthropomorphicShift: Inverted. In the original series he's a bipedal Komainu who looks more cartoony than realistic and resembles a CuteKitten [[InformedSpecies more than the actual animal]], but here he's quadrupedal and looks more realistic. Justified as he's actually a different Komasan entirely.
* CartoonCreature: Subverted. He looks like a dog now, unlike in his original design.
* ContinuitySnarl: His backstory doesn't match the original Komasan's in the slightest, raising the question of whether ''Shadowside'' is an AlternateContinuity and/or this Komasan is a different person that the one we know. From the backstory given for him, he seems to be a different Komasan. The latter seems to be confirmed in episode 27, He only took the name Komasan to remember his brother Komajiro.
* EyesAlwaysShut: In his Lightside form, at least. For his Shadowside it's...
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Or red pupils, in this case.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the original series, Komasan was a wimp who got lucky in the only fight he was ever in, now he comes in second to Jibanyan in badassery, if it's the same Komasan.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Komajiro]]
A frog who has a brotherly friendship with Komasan. He was crushed under the same Komainu statue as Komasan and became a Yo-kai.
----
* AdaptationalSpeciesChange: He's now a frog instead of a komainu.
* InformedAttribute: He is apparently bipedal in his lightside form but only the reverse has been seen
* UnCannyValley: Dear God the way his shadowside form moves is creepy!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Micchy (Slimamander)]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/slimamanderlightside.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Micchy's Lightside form]]
Formely a terrifying Boss Yo-kai, Slimamander has come to admire humanoid Yo-kai, and wants to be a heroic knight, too. One of Natsume's Yo-kai Partners.
----
* AdaptationalWimp: Went from being one of the first bosses in the game to being the designated jobber that gets defeated in one hit.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: He admires humanoid yokai and humans in general. He even gave a DeclarationOfProtection to a human!
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: He considers Natsume the DamselInDistress he has to save.
* ButtMonkey: Like Whisper, he's prone to this.
* KnightInShiningArmor: What he thinks he is.
* MilesGloriosus: What he actually is.
* TakenForGranite: Still has his petrifying gaze attack.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Whisper and Junior.
* TimedPowerUp: Hyper Micchy, though he usually gets distracted explaining and bragging rather than being useful until time runs out.
* UnwantedAssistance: He will show up to fights without Natsume's permission.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Junior]]
[[quoteright:252:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/junior_8.png]]
[[caption-width-right:252:Junior's Lightside form]]
A small Yo-kai, both ghost-like and cat-like, who is said to have a deep connection to a certain Yo-kai.
----
* AdaptedOut: He doesn't appear in the Shadowside manga.
* BrutalHonesty: He doesn't hold back telling people what he thinks of them. His first comment on Akinori is that he should lose weight. He also tells Keisuke his comedy sucks and that he should give up in episode 6.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Snarky tendecies aside, Junior is this.
* FromASingleCell: [[spoiler: How he was born. He was formed from the pieces of flesh that came off of Jibanyan when he took a huge wound fighting Shinigami.]]
* GenerationXerox: He and Keiskue have the same relationship as Nate and Jibanyan
* HumanDisguise: Redhead.
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: His Shadowside form.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: He's even voiced by Etsuko Kozakura, like classic Jibanyan.
%%* TagAlongKid
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Whisper and Micchy
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Can transform into balloon-like copies of beings and objects he sees.

[[/folder]]

!Other Yo-Kai

[[folder:Jinta]]

A human anatomical model that has been in Keisuke's elementary school for 50 years turned Yokai. His Shadowside form is Jingeki.
----
* ShoutOut: Jingeki heavily resembles the [[Manga/AttackOnTitan Colassal Titan]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pakkun]]

A yokai of a venus flytrap. Having a vision the woman that worked at the flower shop would get involved in an accident on her usual route home, Pakkun turned into a yokai in an attempt to prevent it.
----
* ShoutOut: Akinori named her after the [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros Piranha Plant]] (Pakkun Flower in Japan). Her Shadowside form brings to mind [[Theatre/LittleShopOfHorrors Audrey II]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Atsushi Kamamoto]]

An idol producer turned Yokai.
----
* BenevolentBoss: According to some of the former idols he helped produce, he was a kind and helpful producer that worked hard to help them improve. In fact, his negative emotions that turned him into a yokai were not over being run out, but rather feeling he failed the idols under him by letting them get overshadowed.
* MeaningfulName: Atsushi means 'hot' while Kamamoto means 'pottery', matching his idol groups having a pottery theme and his former occupation. His Shadowside form Kamadouma is a play on 'cave cricket' and 'furnace horse', and he resembles a bug-like creature shaped like a pottery kiln.
* WasOnceAMan: While there have been other Yokai that were once humans, Atsushi stands out as he didn't die and rather turned into a yokai because of his negatives emotions of his idol groups being run out of business. Reflecting this, he's the most human-like of the yokai in Lightside form save for his eyes and skin and is able to be seen without the Yokai Watch.

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Hana-chan]]

A yokai formed from the spirit of an old doll on display that desired to play with children again. She chose to inhabit the mascot costume of a new character in an amusement park named Hana Poncho ten years ago, but her enthusiasm caused the character to be retired on the same day after she inadvertently scared the children. Being possessed by Shinma and desperate, she began kidnapping children from the amusement park to be her playmates.
---
* BrainWashedAndCrazy: She and many other Yokai are possessed by Shinma.
* CreepyCute: Discussed InUniverse. Hana Poncho was partly retired due to not appealing to an audience when first introduced ten years ago (on top of Hana's actions frightening the children). But as Natsume tells Hana-chan, nowadays there's appeal for characters like Hana Poncho, which allows for the character to make a comeback and return to being active.
* CreepyDoll: Her general motif resembles traditional Japanese dolls and katakuri.
* GoofySuit: She inhabits the costume of Hana Poncho as a way to interact with children.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Hana-chan's real body is an antique doll on display. Because of this, she split off from her body so she could be able to find playmates like she used to do.
