* JerkAss: UpToEleven and [[ExaggeratedTrope exaggerated]] in many ways. Keroro is a terrible person who treats people horribly for his own amusement, is afraid of being useful in any capacity, and sees all of his life's problems as being NeverMyFault. The MythArc of the series is people hating and wanting to kill him either for this or his uselessness. The end of Season 2 through Season 3 is based around pulling him out of this state into someone who is capable of thinking of others.

* AmbiguouslyGay: Averted in the early episodes. As soon as he makes a pass at Tamama when the character is introduced, he outright says "I'm gay! The end!". Also inverted, because he seems to have an attraction to women but won't come forward about it like he will his attraction to Tamama. Subverted by Episode 11, where he comes to grips with his sexuality and [[BiTheWay decides he is Bi]]. Doesn't stop his relationship with Tamama from getting any worse.
