*** To be clear, at the end of the story Dahlia tries to sacrifice Gilbert to a god her cult worships, and Gilbert points his gun at her, thinking bemusedly that he isn't at all upset by this outcome, implying he really didn't care as much about Dahlia like the ShipTease implied. (This even makes it seem like the ShipTease was only there for the extreme ShipSinking that was to come.) Gilbert concludes with a calm "Sorry, but [[SingleTargetSexuality my flesh and blood belongs to Oz.]]" This is pretty much the end of the Gilbert x Dahlia ShipTease/the climax of the Gilbert x Dahlia ShipSinking, but there's [[UpToEleven even more ShipSinking right afterwards,]] when Gilbert talks to Oz and definitively says he [[TransparentCloset wants to spend the rest of his life with him.]]
