[[folder:Autophage]][[folder:Autophage (Unmarked Spoilers)]]
A race of individualstic machines that are related to, but distinct from, the Korvax. Described as "They Who Returned", Autophage are cast away Korvax consciousnesses that have, through willpower, returned to physical existence in self built bodies and become something entirely new. Because of their connection to non existence, they also have a connection to the Void Mother.

Added DiffLines:

* BadPowersGoodPeople: Their connection to the void, most forces of which subjugate and conquer worlds in the name of the Void Mother, is undeniable. However, the Autophage seem to want nothing more than to exist again, and do not seek to antagonize or corrupt the world.
* {{Foil}}: To the Korvax. Rather than trying to form massive collectives in imitation of the Atlas, the Autophage live in small tribal camps and value their individuality, though also have a strong communal streak.

* TheEmpath: InvertedTrope. Due to a bizarre evolutionary quirk, the way Geth empathy works is that (via pheromones) the observer is basically told by the subconscious of the observed both how the observed is feeling and how the observer should feel about that... meaning that in any interaction with a Gek ''you'' are the empath whether you like or not. Most Gek do not abuse this ability, or are possibly unable to, but you do encounter some who are clearly using it intentionally to further their own ends.

Added DiffLines:

* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler:According to the Farmer, they might not even be a Gek - which, considering that the Overseer clames that they amount to a universal constant and that there will always be a Gek that will always repeat their offer verbatum no matter what part of the universe the player goes to, isn't as unreasonable as it sounds.]]

Added DiffLines:

* FantasticRacism: While they refer to the player as "interloper" and use demeaning language like "pathetic", that appears to just be how they refer to Travellers in general. However, they appear to have a ''very real'' hatred of the Gek - they remember the First Spawn's imperial ambitions, and because they have no context for ''why'' the Gek turned away from war to trading are intensely skeptical about their new path. A planetary archive will state that the only reason the Vy'keen haven't already wiped out the Gek is because they believe the Gek will wipe themselves out through their own failings.
