A grotesque and positively gargantuan aquatic creature born from the moon. It serves as a mini-boss in the Winter Forest level.

* AllThereInTheManual: [[https://www.deviantart.com/cosbydaf/art/Moon-Beast-full-body-896609956 This drawing of the Moon Beast]], which [=CosbyDaf=] uploaded to his [=DeviantArt=] in 2021, shows off what the Moon Beast looks like in full.
* BeastWithAHumanFace: The top of its head is roughly shaped like a human face, with largest of its eyes serving as the "eyes", and the hornlike protrusion on its head serving as the "nose". This seems to confirm that the creature is indeed transformed from the curled up humanoid that hatched from the moon.
* EvilIsBigger: This thing is very, VERY large, to the point where it takes up a considerable portion of the screen even while being partially submerged for the whole battle.
* ExtraEyes: The Moon Beast sports six eyes on the left side of its head alone.
* MixAndMatchCreature: It resembles a hybrid of many different (mostly aquatic) creatures, sporting a Mosasaurus-like head with what seems to be an imitation of a human face on top, a hairy mane of some kind, long limbs similar to that of a crustacean's, and a finned tail.
* OurMonstersAreWeird: It hatches from the moon like an egg as a curled up grey humanoid, which falls into the water below and transforms into this aquatic nightmare shortly after. Uh...
* RuleOfSymbolism: Its jarring appearance after a calmer segment in the Winter Forest level could represent Melissa's sudden death after a peaceful night of watching the stars with Zach. The fact that the top of its head resembles a human face and its eyes being in sort of a blank stare seems to support this.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Its back is lined with numerous spikes, with some lining its tail as well.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Its eyes are colored with an orange-yellow gradient, befitting its otherworldly nature.
* ThatOneBoss: In-universe, Zach describes it as the most difficult fight up to that point. Due to being forced to play as Mothra at the time, even with her [[BalanceBuff Balance Buffs]] in mind, Zach saw it as almost impossible.

!Debuting in ''Godzilla: Replay''

!!Main characters

[[folder:Carl]]
!!!'''Carl'''
The main protagonist of ''Godzilla: Replay''. He bought Zach's copy of ''Godzilla: Monster of Monsters'' from eBay after learning from his story. As he started his playthrough, he quickly learned the game was even weirder than he thought.

----

* AmbiguousSituation: Carl plays the game for whatever reason knowing the sinister nature of the cartridge through Zach's playthrough. As of Chapter 5, his motives for doing so remain unknown.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Unlike Zach, Carl is much more casual in regards to the game, more explorative, and knows far less about the Godzilla mythos.

* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Subverted. While he can fight Red, this doesn't make him particularly powerful next to the rest of the playable kaiju. As such, [[DickDastardlyStopsToCheat Red screwed himself over by blocking off Zach's access to Acacius]], as Zenith prevents Zach's kaiju from healing and wears down his kaiju before the final battle, meaning Red just kept Acacius in his prime at full health for when Melissa made him available.

Added DiffLines:

* DidntThinkThisThrough: He's initially adamant about not breaking the rules, but he ends up cementing a stalemate where the only answer is to break them himself, when he takes away Acacius from the board- note that Acacius is only capable of defeating him, but not necessarily powerful enough to do so if injured enough. Without Acacius available for use, Zach technically can't lose, meaning the fight won't end without Acacius under Zach's use.

[[folder:The Sin monsters]]
A group of monsters that serve as the "leaders" of the Replay worlds. Fittingly, they each represent one of the seven deadly sins.
*BossOnlyLevel: The Sin levels only feature the boss fights.
*SevenDeadlySins: Each of the bosses are based off of them.

!!!Lethar
The leader of Gelid. He's a large, blue, cycloptic gorilla creature.
*FreezeRay: If the player is too far from Lethar, he shoots an ice beam from his eye that freezes them in place.
*MeaningfulName: His name is similar to lethargy, fitting his theme of sloth.
*MightyGlacier: Has very poor movement powers, but he's so strong that even Godzilla's heat beam does paltry damage to him. At least, until he grabs him and levels their faces...
*SevenDeadlySins: Is based off of the sin of [[RidiculousProcrastinator sloth]], emphasized by the icy themes of Gelid.
*SuperStrength: He's strong enough to lift the 20,000 ton Godzilla with a single arm.

!!!Exalton
The leader of Corona. He's a winged purple humanoid with a single large horn on his head.
*AwesomeButImpractical: He's got a very spammable lightning attack, and can even recharge his power once the meter runs to nothing. Problem is, that's all he can really do. When he does run out of power, he can only fly away and recharge himself, which gives a huge opening for the player to attack him.
*LightningBruiser: Carl says that he's much more mobile than Lethar was.
*MeaningfulName: His name is similar to exalted, fitting his theme of Pride.
*PurpleIsPowerful: All of Corona has purple to it, but Exalton is entirely purple and leads the world.
*SevenDeadlySins: Is based off of the sin of {{pride}}, evidenced by the platforms in his arena having his face on them.

!!!Odia
The leader of Amorphis. He's an aquatic green quadruped with the ability to shapeshift.
*HoistByHisOwnPetard: One of his attacks has him push his opponent into a spiky wall. This gives Carl the idea to do the same to him, which kills him.
*MeaningfulName: His name is similar to odious, fitting his theme of Envy.
*MirrorBoss: He can transform into the opponent (Or at least Godzilla), which he utilizes in alternation to his normal form.
*SevenDeadlySins: Is based off of the sin of [[GreenEyedMonster envy]], indicated by his green color and ability to shapeshift into his opponents.

!!!Salaac
The leader of Tempest. She's a blue pterodactyl-like monster with a long pink tongue.
*FlunkyBoss: She sometimes flies away to summon her own children to attack.
*MeaningfulName: Her name is similar to salacious, fitting her theme of Lust.
*MultiPurposeTongue: Her tongue can latch onto her foes to drain their health.
*SevenDeadlySins: Is based off of the sin of lust, and shows the part, attacking her foes with a draining [[LecherousLicking tongue attack]] and summoning what appears to be her own offspring.
*TheSmurfettePrinciple: So far, the only female Sin monster in the game.
*WindFromBeneathMyWings: She's able to fire off gusts of wind by flapping her wings.

!!!Avidus
The leader of Alkali. His appearance has yet to be seen.
*MeaningfulName: His name is similar to avarice, fitting his theme of Greed.
*SevenDeadlySins: Is based off of the sin of {{greed}}, having turned Alkali into an industrialized CrapsackWorld by corrupting the populace with greed.
*TyrannicalTownTycoon: He's turned the entirety of Alkali into his own wage-ridden hellhole, where citizens are divided into wealth groups and given lives better or worse based off of it, and having anyone overworked to death [[TheSecretOfLongPorkPies turned into meat packs that are sold as health powerups]].

Carl is always happy to see him and whenever he's upset/in distress, Carl's first instinct is to either comfort him or help him. He's the one character Carl shows anything other than mild curiosity for, and [[spoiler: when he gets kidnapped]], Carl is ''thoroughly'' pissed.

* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: In-universe. Zach starts realizing something is ''really'' messed up the moment he insults Red and he responds by turning around to look at him. Things start going south from there, and things reach their peak in the final battle where Red traps Zach in his chair in the real world unable to move except with the controller, causes him horrible and real pain with every hit he scores on Zach's monsters, and even tries to stop Zach's heart when he loses all his monsters except for Acacius. This last is what spells Red's defeat, as he had broken the rules by doing so, and had denied Zach use of him out of cowardice leading to a stalemate.

* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat: When Zach got to Zenith, he wasn't getting back health from defeating enemies anymore, which meant that his monsters would've been worn down by the time they make it to the decisive FinalBattle with Red. Despite the fact that Acacius is his AchillesHeel, [[SelfFulfillingProphecy Red would've had a far higher chance of survival if he just let Zach use Acacius throughout Zenith instead of locking it away from him]] for the reasons stated above since Acacius would inevitably start to wear down as the world progresses instead of being fresh and ready to go when the DarkestHour rolls around.

* PerpetualFrowner: It's ALWAYS grimacing. Even when he's in an advantageous situation, he never stops frowning.
