to:

* BerserkButton: Don't try to rip him off when selling kilju to him, he'll slash your Satsuma's tires.tires and unbolt the brake lines.

* VehicularSabotage: If the player swindles him with low quality kilju, he'll slash the tires and cause a leak in the brake lines of the Satsuma.

* MrFixit: Can repair more or less any form of damage the Satsuma takes, and can also perform operations the player is entirely unable to do like rust removal and gearing adjustments. The only issue is he expects to be paid for his work, and cash is hard to come by in this game.
* SitcomArchnemesis: Has a running feud with Lindell, the guy who runs the inspection shop. Visit him often enough and he might call you one night [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy while drunk]] and ask you to take the Gifu and dump sewage on Lindell's property. You'll get fined by the police for doing it but he will reward you with ten bottles of booze and a steep discount on services at his shop.

* NoNameGiven: He doesn't tell you his name, and Sirkka calls him [[HeWhoMustNotBeNamed "that thing"]], but sharp-eyed players can spot his surname, Ritoranta, on his mailbox.

* TheAllegedCar: Heavily downplayed compared to the other clunkers in this list, but the van's suspension is quite old and questionable and driving much more than 100 km/h will result in a persistent death wobble that can easily result in flying off the road into a tree. Not that you'll have much reason to drive it that fast anyway since in Finnish law it belongs to a category of vehicles that cannot legally be driven faster than 80km/h.

* UnexpectedlyRealisticGameplay: Starting and driving the Kekmet can be pretty arcane for those not familiar with it. First, the hand throttle needs to be pulled back to set the idle, then the ignition can be used to start the vehicle. Turning the engine off will also need to be done via the hand throttle rather than the key like most cars. There is also a range selector required to access three of the six forward gears and the second reverse gear. Oh and to tilt the trailer to dump firewood out you'll need to crank the handle throttle to max to give the hydraulics enough power.

* BigBadassRig: Not super glamorous considering it's a septic tank pumping truck, but this is easily the most competent vehicle you'll have access to in the midgame. While the engine is very fuel inefficient, and the 6-speed high/low truck transmission takes some getting used to, the vehicle is almost completely immune to getting rammed by reckless NPC drivers and it's far and away the best vehicle for towing wrecks to Fleetari. It also provides access to one of the game's better money making opportunities. Just keep in mind that despite how durable the truck is, you are not immune to death from slamming it into stationary objects such as telephone poles.
* MadeOfIndestructium: The only form of damage the Gifu can take is losing its windshield. It utterly ignores any other form of damage, physical or mechanical (you, on the other hand, will not, so make sure to wear your seatbelt and don't try to ram anything rooted to the ground).

* UnexpectedlyRealisticGameplay: As the Gifu is a heavy diesel vehicle, it needs to have its glow plugs warmed up before the engine can be started. It also has a realistic air reservoir powered brake system, and due to a leak in the system you'll need to recharge it after periods of disuse by revving the engine in neutral before it can be driven. It also features a twelve speed, unsynchronized truck transmission with a range selector, which is a step above what is required for any other manual transmission in the game.

* FragileSpeedster: While not susceptible to damage itself in the way that the Satsuma is, it's very prone to tipping over and leaves the player exposed to the elements. In particular if driven too fast without a helmet, the player may be killed by a bumblebee flying into their eye.

In particular if driven too fast without a helmet, the player may be killed blinded by a bumblebee flying into their eye.

to:

A car that can be adequately described as a rusted pile of metal.metal in the vague shape of a station wagon. It can be forcibly started using a screwdriver, or won for keeps by betting the Satsuma in a round of Ventti against the Ventti Dealer. It runs on gasoline.

* AbsurdlyHighStakesGame: Can be won from the Ventti dealer, but only by wagering your Satsuma. Losing this bet is a NonStandardGameOver since while you still have the car itself you've bet the keys and can no longer use it during that playthrough (unless you win a subsequent bet that involves wagering the keys to your parent's house).

* HassleFreeHotwire: All you need is a screwdriver in the ignition to steal this trash heap. Justified, as it's an ancient 1960s era vehicle, and also subverted by the fact that starting the car in general is difficult and time consuming. Also, trying to start the car will get you swarmed by wasps if you haven't dealt with the nest first.
* MyCarHatesMe: The starter of this car is absolutely trashed beyond repair and as a result you'll be lucky if you can get the car to even crank the engine, let alone start, in a reasonable time. It also has issues with stalling when left at idle and can also stall when attempting to shift into first gear, so hopefully if you're driving this car you don't need to be somewhere in a hurry.

----
* AwesomeButImpractical: This massive V8-engine, four-door muscle car is right at home on the highway but is sorely out of place on the rough, claustrophobic Finnish backroads that you'll spend most of your time driving it on. It's also an automatic, which sounds great if you're annoyed by having to use the manual transmissions of the other cars but in practice the car is so overpowered you will have to use the towing gears almost exclusively to avoid spinning out and flying off the road. It's also only a loaner and if you try to keep it for too long after Fleetari finishes whatever you paid him to do to the Satsuma, he'll get angry at you and dump the Satsuma upside down in a local swamp.

A combine harvester that currently only exists in the experimental branch. It runs on diesel.

to:

A combine harvester that currently only exists in the experimental branch. a local farmer can ask you to drive back to his barn. It runs on diesel.diesel.
----
* UnexpectedlyRealisticGameplay: As a piece of heavy agricultural equipment like the Kekmet, it has a similarly convoluted method required for starting and driving it. Also the fact that it lacks a visible fuel gauge and is only used for a single mission might lead the player to believe that it doesn't need fuel, but it actually does and likely doesn't have enough in its tank to start with for the player to actually get to their destination without a resupply from the diesel jerrycan.

!!Vehicles

[[folder: Satsuma AMP]]
The titular Summer Car, it begins in literal pieces so the phrase "some assembly required" is rather apt. It runs on gasoline.
----
* FragileSpeedster: The only vehicle that can be performance tuned, and far and away the one capable of the greatest top speed. The downside is that it's also presently the only one susceptible to major wear and tear, so significant abuse will ultimately require pulling parts out of it and replacing them outright.
* TheAllegedCar: Sure starts this way thanks to all of the initial wearable parts being in bad condition (to the point it may be valid to postpone building the engine until the parts for a wholly brand new engine can be purchased), though the main offenders to bad performance are use of the stock tires, which can barely grip the road (though this effect is mitigated since while the tires originally spawned in the garage, they've since been moved to a haunted mansion that's walking distance from the mechanic, close enough you might as well get them fixed up before you take them home in the first place) and the stock radiator, which overheats if you look at it funny. Naturally it breaks away from this title as you get aftermarket parts installed, though most of them have the downside that they will cause it to fail inspection. The Racing Radiator, thankfully, is not among "most of them", so if ordered early there is no reason to ever use the stock Radiator at all.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Hayosiko Pace]]
The blue van owned by the player character's uncle (Toivo Kesseli). It was originally available from the start of the game, but can now only be acquired by loaning it from the uncle once he decides to show up. It runs diesel.
----
* UnlockableContent: Of a sort. It can't be used until Uncle Kesseli shows up, at which point talking to him will cause him to give the player the keys to the van, though it will disappear if they wander too far away from it or sleep. After a while he'll start sitting outside and mention that he lost his license due to speeding, at which point the van will appear next to the inspection shop where it can be taken for keeps.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Kekmet]]
A forklift owned by the player's family. Its main use is delivering wood using its trailer, with its secondary utility being its ability to tow heavy objects. Other than that, it's rather slow and finicky. It runs on diesel.
----
* CrutchCharacter: As much of a character as a vehicle can be, anyway. It has the upshot that it's available from the start of the game and is capable of having things thrown into its cabin for transport (unlike the other starting land vehicle, the Jonnez ES), plus it's big and heavy enough that a collision with Pena is not likely to result in an untimely death. The problem is that, as stated above, it's also slow and finicky, so it's still generally a good idea to change to the Hayosiko or Ruscko as a primary vehicle as soon as possible.
* MightyGlacier: As stated above, it's big and heavy enough that the player will be safe from a collision with Pena, and can be used for towing heavy objects such as wrecked cars. But also as stated above, it's still slow.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Gifu]]
A septic truck owned by Uncle Kesseli. It was originally available from the start of the game, but can now only be acquired after Kesseli loses his license, though there are complications with that. Its main role is to drain septic tanks. It runs on diesel.
----
* MightyGlacier: It's bigger than the Kekmet, and can ignore Pena just as easily, as well as having similar capabilities when it comes to towing wrecked cars and whatnot.
* PermanentlyMissableContent: If the Hayosiko is filled with Fuel Oil before Kesseli loses his license, he will receive a fine because of it and end up selling the Gifu. Since there's no way for the player to buy it back, that means it's gone for food.

A moped which belongs to the player, and which is available from the start. It runs on two-stroke fuel.
----
* FragileSpeedster: While not susceptible to damage itself in the way that the Satsuma is, it's very prone to tipping over and leaves the player exposed to the elements. In particular if driven too fast without a helmet, the player may be killed by a bumblebee flying into their eye.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Boat]]
A small motorboat owned by the player which is available from the start. It runs on two-stroke fuel.
----
* BoringButPractical: Far and away the safest way to get to Teimo's shop (provided you don't forget to leave a can of two-stroke fuel on it and run out of gas in the middle of the lake), but not exceptionally fast.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: RCO Ruscko]]
A car that can be adequately described as a rusted pile of metal. It can be forcibly started using a screwdriver, or won for keeps by betting the Satsuma in a round of Ventti against the Ventti Dealer. It runs on gasoline.
----
* VideoGameStealing: As stated, it can be forcibly started by using a screwdriver, leading to the obvious conclusion.
* TheAllegedCar: It has clearly seen better days and suffers from major neglect, to the point that a live wasp nest has developed on the passenger side. Considering the player's wasp allergies, using it is inadvisable until the nest has been dealt with, either by taking a fire extinguisher to it or dunking the whole Ruscko itself into the lake and pulling it out with the Kekmet or Gifu. In spite of all of that, once the wasp nest is dealt with it is still vastly superior to the Kekmet when it comes to doing Kilju runs and generally getting around, so if the Hayosiko is taking a long time to show up then winning or stealing may be worth doing early. Just remember to fill it up, as it also starts with barely any fuel in its tank.

[[folder: Burnet Ferndale]]
An American muscle car owned by the mechanic, Leif Fleetari. Cannot come into the player's ownership, though Fleetari will allow it to be borrowed while he's working on the Satsuma, but it's better to not keep him waiting when he wants it back. It runs on gasoline.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Arvo-Algotson]]
A combine harvester that currently only exists in the experimental branch. It runs on diesel.
