* CloningBlues: For the most part, averted. Jessica doesn't really care that she's a clone, her problems stem from who she's a clone of.
* DeadpanSnarker: Uses copious amounts of sarcasm to cope with her lot in life.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first part of Chapter 1.1 serves as this for her. Her skills and charm are on full display from the word go.
* FieryRedhead: Downplayed. Jessica is usually a cold IceQueen, but she is also rather quick to anger.
* FreudianExcuse: Jessica's Jerkass tendencies are implied to stem from her Tykebomb less than ideal childhood, her mostly loving but still villainous mother and Blackburn in general being a ViceCity that keeps kicking her in the teeth.
* Jerkass: Starts the series as a sarcastic ex-con with an anger issue, though she draws the line at torturing her enemies to death.
** JerkassWoobie: She doesn't deny it when Alex suggests she just wants a real friend.
* RedheadsAreUncool: Used subtly. Carlos is shocked to find out the woman whose beaten him up is a freckly ginger, and Alex notes that there's not many white women running around in the underworld, where it's implied she's an outcast (though hardly just for her hair).
* Tykebomb: Was raised by her mercenary mother to be a solider from the day she could hold a gun. She beats up an armed gangbanger, several mercs and half a dozen prison inmates before she even becomes a Maverick.
* VerbalTic: "Hmph." It's implied she gets it from her mother.

* TheBigGuy: An absolute juggernaut who can flatten almost anyone just by running them over.
* CareerEndingInjury: Had one of these as a college quarterback star, and is determined not to let it stop him from being a Maverick.
* CastingAShadow
* CoolMask: Wears a tinted gas mask with a voice filter.
* DumbJock: Not the brighest bulb on the tree, and played linebacker in college.
** Though he makes up for brains in the heart department.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: As much as Fritz ribs him, they've been best friends for an indefinite amount of time.
* KindheartedSimpleton
* MellowFellow: Unlike the other characters, he almost never loses his temper over anything.
* NiceGuy: Easily the nicest main character, as noted by Fritz.
-->"Dont listen to this idiot, hes got all the gall he needs to fight this crap. Absolutely no sense of self-preservation, determined as hell, too pure for his own good. I know Id trust him to save a city."
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Fritz. More so from Fritz's side, but Alex gets a few good jabs in himself.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Desperately wants to earn his father's approval as a superhero after dropping out of college after a football injury.

!!The Underworld

* TheAlcoholic: Which only makes her anger issues worse.
* EvilRedhead:
* FieryRedhead: Played more straight than with her daughter.
* HairTriggerTemper: Is willing to deploy lethal force over minor slights.
* KnightTemplar: Uses her massive PMC to slaughter criminals wherever she gets a chance to.
* VerbalTic: See Jessica's entry.
