* FusionDance: In his last battle, he fuses with Zeus in one last attempt to kill the party.
* GreenEyedMonster: He's jealous of how Cram gets to wield Cronos Noah, causing him to use Zeus Noah to become stronger.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Using Zeus Noah causes him to exagerrate his envy of Cram to murderous extremes. This is because Zeus is an imitation Machina made from the core of a broken Machina, resulting in a more painful experiece for Felmut when he tries to operate it.
* WorthyOpponent: Downplayed. Cram is creeped out by his obsessive rivalry, but he notes that Felmut is talented in different ways from him.

* DragonWithAnAgenda: Inverted. [[spoiler:Gertheim is the one with ulterior motives and eventually betrays her.]]
* PragmaticVillainy: In the beginning, she orders Felmut to only spy on Cram because there's no evidence he could threaten their plans yet. It's only after he becomes a threat that she her minions permission to fight Cram. Even then, they're only supposed to slow him down because he's their UnwittingPawn.
* TheUnfought: She doesn't fight the party herself and instead sics the [[WolfpackBoss entire Elite Four]] on them when they confront her.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Gertheim claims that despite her religion's [[WellIntentionedExtremist good intentions]], [[spoiler:their usage of Attributes could threaten the planet's Ether balance.]]
