Even then, this Soushi loves Ririchiyo's reincarnation and wants to replace his past self for her sake. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't work out because Ririchiyo decides the previous Soushi is the only one she loves. It's until Chapter 34 that Ririchiyo realizes that no matter if he's a reincarnation, Soushi is still Soushi and she admits she could have loved him the same as his past self [[spoiler:had they gotten more time together before the time reset.]]
* EvilCostumeSwitch: He wears a black outfit in his youkai form as opposed to his original white one. Subverted when it's revealed he's not actually evil.

As they spent time together and he tried to understand her better, Soushi gained emotions that he never knew before and made him feel alive, leading him to fall in love with Ririchiyo.

* LastNameBasis: This Soushi calls Ririchiyo by her last name, one of the first things Ririchiyo notes is off about him.
* LoveBeforeFirstSight: Even though he lacks the previous Soushi's memories, he subconsciously kept yearning for Ririchiyo and thought of her whenever he saw women with long black hair. When he met Ririchiyo's reincarnation, his feelings grew stronger and it didn't take long for him to fall for her as hard as his past incarnation did.

* ReincarnationRomance: Subverted. Reincarnated Soushi does love reincarnated Ririchiyo, but she rejects him because his past self is the only one she loves.

They also rarely get to interact with each other since in this life, Zange's not Watanuki's SS Agent, and there are moments where it's painfully obvious that Zange misses their old relationship.

* BefriendingTheEnemy: [[spoiler:He unknowingly does this with Inugami. Not being able to remember anything from his past life, Watanuki approaches Inugami and befriends him. Surprisingly, this manages to make Inugami develop a soft spot for Watanuki and their friendship even made him consider to put a stop to his eternal resets to live a normal life. Inugami then tries to forget about his friendship with Watanuki by going back in time again and erasing the "If World" with it. In the end, Inugami couldn't stop considering Watanuki his friend and this lead to his defeat.]]
* DontYouDarePityMe: He hates how his fellow atavists, especially Karuta, look down on him for being a kid as he was the last to reincarnate.

* HeroWorshipper: In sharp contrast to their former relationship, Watanuki's reincarnated self greatly admires reincarnated Soushi for his physical abilities.

After they became friends, Mikoto found himself enjoying a world in which the Shimon he loved died and started considering living a normal life in that world. Mikoto then tries to get rid of those feelings by resetting the timeline all over again, but he can't stop seeing Watanuki as his friend and this ultimately leads to his defeat.]]
* OnlyFriend: To [[spoiler:Inugami. Watanuki was the only one, other than Shimon, to approach Inugami and try to befriend him. While it was unclear how much Inugami actually appreciated him at first, Inugami did enjoy spending time with Watanuki and considered him his closest friend.]]

* SheIsAllGrownUp: The reincarnated Karuta is already 20 years old -- the oldest female in the household -- and has let her hair loose (in addition to being bustier) by the time she is seen again, 23 years after she died at the tender age of sixteen. * SugarAndIcePersonality: She presents herself as an aloof and sharp-tongued person as part of a self-defense mechanism. After Soushi and her friends aren't put off by that act, Ririchiyo can show the sensitive, good-hearted, and caring girl she really is.

* TinyTyrannicalGirl: {{Subverted}}. While she's very short, Ririchiyo only pretends to be bossy and abrasive due to a "bad habit" she developed in her childhood. She really dislikes herself for verbally abusing people and wants to try her best to grow out of this behavior.

* GoldDigger: A... somewhat more sympathetic one before he became Kagerou's servant and met Ririchiyo. It stopped when he found Kagerou's mother and got to convince her to release him from the Miketsukami family.

However, Ririchiyo can't let go of her love for the previous Soushi.

* LegFocus: Nobara sees her long legs as her major CharmPoint.

* SourOutsideSadInside: Described as such by Nobara; Ririchiyo acts mean and haughty and then walks away to sulk somewhere. This is because a very isolated family environment and bullying left her with emotional baggage and virtually NoSocialSkills, something Ririchiyo hates herself for.

* SugarAndIcePersonality: She presents herself as an aloof and sharp-tongued person out of a bad habit to push people away before they can hurt her. After Soushi and her friends aren't put off by that act, Ririchiyo can show the sensitive, good-hearted, and caring girl she really is.

* {{Tsundere}}: An interesting variation, along with {{deconstructed|trope}}. Ririchiyo says she picked up a bad habit of putting up an arrogant front and verbally abusing others as a coping mechanism for the bullying she suffered in the past. She actually feels bad about lashing out at others all the time and tries her best to grow out of it. She also treats her love interest quite nicely even though he explicitly wouldn't mind to be mistreated by her.

* ShanaClone: A different take on the archetype. She's a rich, childlike fifteen-year-old {{Tsundere}} with black hair and Grade A ZettaiRyouiki. Unusually, she dislikes her common approach to people and is trying her best to improve her social interactions. Also, her love interest, who specifically ''asks'' her to call him a dog and treat him like one, is such an ExtremeDoormat she actually finds it very difficult to do so.
