* DubNameChange: In Japan the characters have different names from their original versions because they're supposed to be their descendants or reincarnations. Natsume streamlined it to be an AlternateUniverse, but this causes some {{Dub Induced Plot Hole}}s because other references weren't changed.
* GenerationXerox: Almost everyone. Seriously, this takes place one hundred years after ''[[VideoGame/HarvestMoonAWonderfulLife A Wonderful Life]]'' and yet all the villagers have the same appearances, homes, and even ''[[AncestralName names]]'' as their ancestors. The name part is more so Natsume's fault, they had different names in the Japanese version. The home thing makes sense too since they've probably lived in the same valley for generations.

* AlliterativeFamily: He's May's grandson named "Mason".
* LongDistanceRelationship: You commute with him over the phone. You learn more about him every time you purchase five items at a time.
* NoNameGiven: A last minute subversion. At no point in any of your conversations does he actually introduce himself, and you only learn his name when the game asks you if you accept his marriage proposal or not.
* NonStandardGameOver: If you accept his proposal, the game will end with you moving to Mineral Town.
* RealMenWearPink: He inherited the tailor business from his mother and grandmother. He also loves to cook.
* SecretCharacter: Even more so than Skye, as absolutely zero information was officially released about his existence and his interactions with your character are triggered through a method not many players would think to do on their own.
* VersionExclusiveContent: You talk to him when you call May's Tailoring, which is a store only accessible in ''Cute.''
* TheVoice: He lives and works in Mineral Town, and you never see him in person.

* AdultFear: She washed up on shore due to a hurricane, separating her from her mother in the ocean. Unless you court her long enough to see all of her heart events, she'll stay in Daryl's bathtub forever and apparently never see her mother again.
