* PragmaticHero: While he does genuinely want to help Vanon because he [[spoiler:wants Tuka and her unborn child to survive]], he does have ulterior motives - [[spoiler:as Ulthuan cannot hope to hold the Falmart side of their gate with the elves they have, he wants to unite the Falmart elves under one banner and have them guard the gate, and he plans to have Vanon and Tuka's child as their ruler, because said child would have blood of elves from both worlds]].

** TheBusCameBack: Shows up in the chapter after [[spoiler:Mannfred raises all of the dead from Elbe to Italica]], which focuses on the dwarves' journey.

* HonorBeforeReason: While she doesn't like her father's plans for dealing with the empire, she still goes along with them out of loyalty to him and Sadera.

However, while petty, Zorzal was ignorant of just how much beards mean to Warhammer Dwarfs.[[spoiler:Turns out he did this on purpose, knowing exactly how much dwarfs treasure their beards, and deliberately enraged Kregan into taking his life so he could switch to a new body.]]

** DragonWithAnAgenda: While he doesn't seem to be planning to betray Mannfred (at least at the moment), he does want to become stronger and more powerful in his own right.
