* {{Adorkable}}: Even though he and Azura are in a very serious relationship, he can still get a bit flustered and be something of a dork around her. His attempt at being romantic just before consummating his marriage falls flat, but Azura doesn't care and is just happy to be with him.

* SkilledButNaive: He's a good swordsman with dragon powers and a keen tactical mind, and personally defeated Anankos and ended his reign of terror, but he has a rather bad habit of underestimating just how evil some people can be. Best shown in chapter 15; he challenges Jiro, a {{Jerkass}} daimyo who openly hates Nohrians and has been actively plotting against him the entire time, to a duel, expecting that Jiro would actually adhere to Hoshidan armor and accept his defeat gracefully. He's proven wrong in the worst possible way when, upon being defeated, Jiro [[spoiler:impales him with a Wyrmsbane pike the very second Corrin turns his back, sending him into a coma and very nearly killing him; Corrin survives, but suffers permanent damage to both his heart and sword arm.]] When he wakes up, Azura and several of his siblings chew him out over it, lecturing him on how stupid he was to think Jiro ''wouldn't'' pull off such a dirty tactic and telling him he ''has'' to accept that not everyone is as honorable and good-hearted as he thinks they are.

* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: In chapter 15, his belief that [[{{Jerkass}} Jiro]] would actually adhere to Hoshidan armor and take defeat gracefully is proven completely false, and nearly gets him killed.

* AssholeVictim: In chapter 15, Azura [[spoiler:orders him hanged with the other rebels]]. Considering what a racist {{Jerkass}} and SmugSnake Jiro is, and the fact that he was a DirtyCoward and SoreLoser who [[spoiler:attacked Corrin when his back was turned]], he ''really'' had it coming.

* GoodIsNotSoft: She notes that Corrin would {{Easily Forgive|n}} the rebels. [[spoiler:Corrin is rendered comatose by a Dragonpike to the heart]], however, so the decision falls on her shoulders. They ''hang''.

* YouAreTooLate: He is unable to defeat Haitaka fast enough to prevent him from [[spoiler:executing his father out of spite]].

* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:Out of fear of Corrin transforming into a berserk dragon like his father before him, Nestor betrays him to Jiro.]]

* FantasticRacism: He freaking ''hates'' Nohrians, and considers Corrin to be nothing but a sell-out.

* SoreLoser: Hoshidan honor demands gracefully admitting defeat after losing a duel. Jiro does not do Hoshidan honor. [[spoiler:Corrin gets Dragonpiked in the back for his trouble.]]

* ButNowIMustGo: Once again, he decides to leave after all is said and done since he worries about the negative effects his presence might have on Corrin's image. However, this time he agrees to keep in touch with Corrin.
