* SubmissiveBadass: Typically no push-over, but when it comes to Courtney, he loves it when she walks all over him.

* TookALevelInJerkass: For most of the season, he is pretty much just a DumbJock. However, when Cameron took immunity instead of him in episode 11, he's Understatement rather bitter (even though it was his own fault for showing off before then). While his personality doesn't really change, he's notably more antagonistic towards Cameron and Zoey, and effectively replaces Scott as the villain near the end of the season.

* PunnyName: Possibly. As pointed out on the WMG page, "Burromuerto" combined with the nickname "Al" might be a reference to a Spanish saying about not having glory when you die.

* WrongGenreSavvy: Tells Brick to ignore his "no man left behind" instinct when she and the other Maggots are caught by the "spider" and finish the challenge in "Finders Creepers", figuring him making it to the end first will win the challenge. He does make it first before the Rats' Sam and Scott, but it turns out that the team with the most members at the end wins it.

* IMeantToDoThat: His confessional response to the WrongGenreSavvy incident below (as it actually helped his strategy).

* WrongGenreSavvy: For winning the first challenge in "Ice Ice Baby", the Rats are allowed to choose which fort they will command for the second challenge. While most of the team immediately chooses the more impressive one, Scott convinces them that it's a trick and the other fort will look nicer on the inside. It doesn't.

* IronButtMonkey: Just check any opening sequence he's in.

* CatchPhrase: "Later, losers."

* CollaredByFashion

* DeadpanSnarker
* Delinquents Delinquent: Fresh out of Juvie.

* ForTheEvulz: Mainly does bad things for fun.
* GenreSavvy: Serves him well in Action, especially when the movie genre is a sort of horror or monster movie. Duncan is also one of the more difficult characters to be manipulated.

* GrumpyBear
* GuileHero: Duncan is not above cheating to win, but being a silent manipulator isn't his forte.

* LovableRogue

Added DiffLines:

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite being evil, he's a gentleman and has his standards.

Added DiffLines:

* NotSoSimillar: J.Z. Has Mal's traits, except he's against killing.

* Badass: Anyone who spends the majority of a season walking on their hands while still being ridiculously efficient deserves this title. He also managed to walk across a tightrope on just his hands and still managed to save Heather on said tightrope.

* Badass

* TheWorfEffect: When the show needs to either show how Badass someone is (Courtney) or how someone has TookALevelInBadass (Harold, Cody) the first stop seems to be beating up Duncan. Was on the giving end of this, however, when his dodgeball strategy played a major role in ending the Screaming Gopher's winning streak.

* Badass

* Badass: Gotta give him this, at least. He punched out a shark in the first episode of Total Drama All-Stars.

* TheBadGuyWins:

** Killing innocent peoples not his top priority. For example, despite being fan of Mal, J.Z. never liked the way he tried to kill people.
