!Dungeon Residents

[[folder: Masuda Keima / Keima Goren]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/p9owthk.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Who dares disturb my slumber?!]]The protagonist and titular Dungeon Master.
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: One of his first BeyondTheImpossible moments is essentially an act of ''willful'' ignorance. Niku the slave is trapped under a bed in the burning dungeon and the only way to rescue her is to bring her inside the dungeon core area. Except that this action can only be done with items, not people. So Keima essentially ''argues with the dungeon system'' that Niku [[{{Dehumanization}} counts as an item]]... ''and it works''.
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: He loves to pet Niku on the head because it makes her happy.
* AmbiguousDisorder: Left to his own devices, he sleeps a 12-hour stretch, wakes up to eat and relieve himself, before going to sleep again for another 12-hour stretch, and still isn't getting enough rest. This indicates a serious sleep disorder of some kind, from sleep apnea to some kind of narcolepsy...
* AntiVillain: Though he's anything ''but'' a hero, as his goals and motives are almost exclusively self-serving, his ''methods'' are very benign and often quite beneficial to others.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: He doesn't limit his abilities to what the "common sense" of the world says they are. One of the few types of work he will actually enjoy is tinkering around with his skills to see what they can really do. He's done many "impossible" things that way.
* TheBeard: For the very young daughter of Tsia's feudal lord, Maiodore Tsia, although this role swaps to Niku before long.
* BenevolentBoss: Those who serve him faithfully get treated very, very well.
* BerserkButton: Believe it or not, he has them.
** Don't mess with his sleep without damn good reason.
** Messing with Niku will make him angry, even more than messing with his sleep will, and messing with his sleep is pretty bad.
** Trying to steal his bed(s) will make him "invite" you to the dungeon, and if you're lucky, you just get to die.
* BeyondTheImpossible: He is so divorced from the "common sense" of the world setting that he does things even the most talented and trained experts in the world couldn't dream of, and far less expensively than they would spend in coin or DP to even try.
* BrilliantButLazy: His goal is to live a life where he sleeps as much as possible. When he's forced to work, he's actually quite brilliant, clever, and creative.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: He was shown drinking only one cup of wine, after being pressured by Haku, and was passed out drunk the next scene, waking up with a hangover the next day.
* CelibateHero : Technically, he's more of a Celibate Anti-Villain. Despite his gradually developing feelings for Rokuko and his general reputation, he has little interest in sexual matters beyond his foot fetish and using a living hug pillow. A succubus eventually confirms that he is indeed a virgin.
* CombatPragmatist: He does not fight fair, ever. He will use any and every dirty trick he can to win.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Which he's well aware of. His fondness for the "Create Golem" spell leaves his dungeon vulnerable to any adventurer or monster that is either immune to physical attacks or specializes in fighting golems. He is striving with great effort to counter this.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He honestly didn't care about the behavior of the bandits, at all, even happily cheering when they brought in adventurer corpses so he could turn them into DP for himself. Even so, when he saw the bandit boss treating "Niku" like an onahole (although only in the web novel), he was visibly enraged and disgusted, and if he had a way that wasn't abjectly suicidal, would have killed the guy with his own two hands.
* ExhaustedEyebags: While the illustrations don't have enough detail to say yay or nay, the novel's narrative indicates that he does indeed have these, in spite of how much sleep he gets.
* {{Fetish}}: He has an obvious foot-fetish. Sometimes even to the point of CasualKink, as he sometimes fantasizes about being stepped on.
* FriendToAllChildren: He has a soft-spot for children, and treats them kindly whenever he's with them in person. When Maiodore O'Doll takes him to an orphanage she frequents and supports, he puts forth very sound and practical means to make that orphanage self-sufficient, purely for the children's sake. [[PragmaticVillainy Though said plans would later profit him much further down the line.]]
* GottaCatchEmAll: His long-term goal is to collect all 7 pieces of the Divine Bedding.
* HaremSeeker: And he actually has a perfectly valid excuse. Haku, as the terms of putting her backing behind his inn, does not allow Keima to "hire" male employees. So, whenever he has any control, gets attractive females to help run the Dancing Doll Inn.
* ImNotAHeroIm: He pointedly ''does not'' want to be a hero, period. Not even "Father" can make him change his mind.
* InnocentBigot: He's completely unaware that "Niku" is a slur. He calls the poor girl that only because that's the "name" she provided him. When he finds out, he's... not amused.
* KillerGameMaster: Usually averted, for pragmatic reasons. However, when The Rich Family Rescue Order of Knights went out of their way to antagonize his paying customers, employees, and himself with their crudeness, vulgarity and vandalism, he played this entirely straight, AndThereWasMuchRejoicing.
* LaboriousLaziness: In order to secure himself a life with as little work as possible, and a comfortable bed, he will work very, very hard, but he will complain about it.
* LackOfEmpathy: If you're not useful to him, he couldn't care less about your continued well being. This does bother him on occasion.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: For a long time, Keima was unaware that people thought Niku was his sex slave because Meat is the traditional name of a female sex slave. When he finds out, he is horrified and decides to change her name.
* LoopholeAbuse: Even Alka's trump card, the "Treaty" spell and barrier doesn't leave him helpless as he just fashions golems out of the Dungeon Point catalog's "treasure" items that the spell doesn't affect.
* MistakenForBadass: [[spoiler:When a village suddenly springs up around his dungeon, unprompted, the citizens try to push him into becoming their chief, as a figure-head.]] The people all think he's seeing through them with his quick and direct decisions. In truth, he's just taking the quickest and easiest approach so he can get back to sleep.
* MistakenForPedophile: Thanks to the "misunderstanding" regarding Niku, and other factors, the prevailing opinion is that Keima is an unashamed lolicon, despite his protests. There is no way to correct this impression, at all.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: If he is prioritizing something over his own sleep, then the situation must be quite dire.
* OxymoronicBeing: He's both a dungeon master and [[spoiler:the God of Light's heroic vanguard]].
* PapaWolf: Surprisingly, he is a good father figure to any child in his care. Not only that, but should he learn that a child in his care is being threatened, the consequences are severe unto the offender.
* PragmaticVillainy: His one and only redeeming feature is that if you're useful to him, he will treat you very, very kindly.
* SevenDeadlySins: Sloth.
* ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: To the point of NakedPeopleAreFunny. When he gains the ability, his clothes don't change sizes with him...
* StealthMentor: To Gamma/Neruneh. He gives her "homework" for his own benefit which has the fringe benefit of making her a better witch.
* SuperOCD: When he does get to focus on something, like building special-use golems, the rest of the world fades into the background, and even friends and family can't get through to him. He even pulled an all-nighter once without realizing it.
* SwissArmySuperpower: The true value of the "Create Golem" skill. Not only can golems be made out of almost any material, but they don't even need moving parts. As such, he can build just about any item or structure he wants just by holding the raw material and going "Create Golem."
* {{Troll}}: Is not above this. In the dungeon battle with Haku, he set up the end of the dungeon with a riddle gate designed to stall intelligent overthinkers and behind it was just a bare wall with the words "under construction" instead of the dungeon core, which had instead been hidden, along with dummy cores it could be swapped with, in various mundane and easily overlooked nooks and crannies throughout the rest of the dungeon.
* UnconsciousObjector: In Cilia's side story, she recalls how she once threw cleaning tools at Keima in a rage when she caught him napping while Meat was "cleaning" a particularly vile bathroom stall. He caught the tools without disturbing his rest, which creeped her out.
* VillainProtagonist: Due to his LackOfEmpathy, and his sloth, he's the exact opposite of a hero, but because his villainy is pragmatic, and actually helps others, he's still sympathetic.
* WouldNotHurtAChild: Given a choice, he will never harm a child, or let a child ''be harmed'' if he has any say in the matter. It's one of the greatest fringe virtues of his PragmaticVillainy.
* WrongGenreSavvy: He has a tendency to link the cost of goods and services to their DP catalog price. This often has him seriously ''undervalue'' their actual market price, and he's stunned when he finds out.
* ZergRush: On occasion. He will take down powerful bosses with cheap, weak monsters, en masse, but he does so intelligently. In his first dungeon battle, he took down Haku's Minotaur floor boss by choking it on 50 rats that he shoved down its throat!

[[folder: Rokuko Labyrinthart]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lazy_dungeon_master.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Wake up already, Keima!]]Dungeon 695 and Keima's partner.
----
* BigSisterWorship: She idolizes Haku.
* BornLucky: Her success rate with the gacha is legendary.
* BrattyHalfPint: At first. She gets better once she realizes how smart Keima actually is.
* CantHoldHerLiquor: She has an even more extreme case than Keima. Keima is worried that she'll spill dungeon secrets whenever someone gets her drunk.
* HollywoodTactics: Her battle plans have very, very poor chances of succeeding. Fortunately, Keima can correct her deficiencies and make them work.
* IncestSubtext: With Haku, Dungeon 89. Their on-screen interactions are quite telling, especially when [=DPs=] are transferred...
* OperationJealousy: And it works. She convinces Wataru to make Keima give her a ring by telling Keima he proposed to her. Keima does comply, [[RightForTheWrongReasons but only because he thinks there's less chance of Haku killing him for that than for letting Wataru keep peppering Rokuko with marriage proposals...]]
* RelationshipUpgrade: She gets Keima to fashion her a wedding ring!
* RightForTheWrongReasons: She summons the goblin Gobsuke to attack the bandits, alone. Although Kehma was able to stop such a suicidal ploy, they were left with a goblin in the core for days, who couldn't contribute anything to their plans or tactics. When the bandits were cleared out by knights, one of the knights swung a sword at the core. Gobsuke stopped the blow with his own body, saving everyone.
* ShanaClone: That doesn't last very long. When Keima's plan succeeds in wiping out the bandits, she starts falling for him.
* ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: Zigzagged. She gets the ring Keima fashioned for her to fit by "aging up" to a bigger form, and when she shrinks back again, the ring changes size with her. Even the shoes she took off in her "adult" form changed sizes.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Melon Bread.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Gobsuke]]
The first named monster in the dungeon.
* HeroicSacrifice: It gave up its life to protect the core. Even Keima respects that.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Niku Kuroinu (Meat Blackdog)]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dii4diw.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Meat is on the left.]]A young slave girl Kehma rescues from bandits.
----
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: She loves it when anyone, especially Keima, rubs her on the head and strokes her ears.
* AlmightyJanitor: Literally. Although Keima actually does the cleaning with magic, he has her pretend to be the one doing the work while he "gathers information." Yet, she's so talented in combat that C-rank adventurers think she's ''under-valued.''
* AnimalMotif: A dog.
* BadassAdorable: Cute as a button, and has better combat talent than most official C-Rank adventurers.
* BrokenBird: She has suffered every kind of abuse imaginable, including sexual abuse, and it shows. Keima, of all people, is helping her recover, and he's doing so in exactly the right way.
* HappinessInSlavery: Firmly in the life-debt category with a splash of beloved servant. She ''wants'' to be Kehma's slave because he saved her life, and she is visibly distraught if she thinks he's going to free her.
* HeroWorshipper: Even though Keima is anything but "heroic", she can't stop praising him as her "hero."
* HypercompetentSidekick: To Keima. Aside from actually crafting golems, she is far more talented than he is at everything, including controlling golems. As long as this makes his life easier, it doesn't bother Keima a bit.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: While she does strip naked and change clothes in front of Keima, at the time, she was so horribly traumatized that she truly didn't understand why that's usually considered inappropriate.
* LittleBitBeastly: She has dog ears and tail.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: It's a foolish notion to mistake her young age and small size for weakness as she can, and later does, throw full grown men who antagonize her by threatening the Dancing Doll Pavilion.
* SexSlave: Played for full horror effect.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Is she ever! She loves it when she spars with powerful warriors, on a never ending quest to improve herself.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Hamburger.
* UndyingLoyalty: She will serve and protect Keima, to the best of her ability, for as long as she lives. No ifs, ands, or buts.
* {{Workaholic}}: Keima has to order her to rest, or she'd work herself to death trying to please him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Ichika/Sorin]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ontejgr.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Feed me well, and I promise to serve ya for life [[SexSlave however ya want!]]]]Keima's second slave, the first he bought.
----
* BirdsOfAFeather: Kehma can relate to her because they have the same mindset concerning their respective deadly sins.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: When Keima learns that she withheld the truth of the term "Niku" from him, he condemns her to three days without gambling or sampling the meals he can get her. She's listed as completely going over the DespairEventHorizon.
* FatalFlaw: She's a gambling addict.
* GroinAttack: Played for laughs. A poorly worded command, while she was intoxicated, caused her to bite her last master's... nether regions off... and eat it.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: A sweet and wonderful woman, despite her faults, and strawberry blonde in the color illustrations.
* HappinessInSlavery: An interesting mix of Beloved Servant and Lesser Evil categories. She's thrilled to be Keima's slave because she doesn't have to worry about her gambling debts, she's fed very well, and she's never, ever given unreasonable orders or abused.
* LapPillow: She gives one to Keima when she enters his study and sees him passed out on the floor.
* MadeASlave: To pay off gambling debts.
* RedBaron: The Demonic Gourmand
* SeriousBusiness: Delicious food is more important than her life!
* SevenDeadlySins: Gluttony.
* SexSlave: Played for laughs. She was also called "meat" once... (She licks her fingers)
* ShipperOnDeck: She really, really wants Keima and Rokuko to "go all the way" and is giving Rokuko advice on how to make it happen. Of course, she's doing this outside Haku's sight or hearing...
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Curry.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Alpha/Rei]]
A vampire summoned by Keima to help run the Dancing Doll Inn.
----
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: Invoked. Since she was summoned to be a receptionist, she's usually quite harmless... usually.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Invoked. Keima deliberately screens out all traditional vampire weaknesses, but in return, to keep her from being too expensive, strips away all her combat potential, including traditional vampire powers. She can still drink blood, she just doesn't have to.
* SexSlave: What she thinks she was summoned for, and it's not a rare reason. Fortunately, she's wrong.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Beta/Kinue]]
A Sylkie summoned to help run the Dancing Doll Inn.
----
* TheFairFolk: She's a Sylkie, a type of fairy.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: A fringe benefit of her race is that she can cook special-order meals not on the DP catalog. Prior to her arrival, the Inn had to stick to a set menu, and either Rokuko or Keima had to pull out the food from the DP catalog.
* SeriousBusiness: Cleaning and housework without using magic is her pride and joy.
* SupremeChef: When Keima stumbles on the "Cooking" skill as a result of one of Rokuko's gacha spins, he gifts this skill to her. She becomes an even better cook, able to create fantastic dishes literally in the blink of an eye.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gamma/Neruneh]]
An apprentice witch summoned to help run the Dancing Doll Inn.
----
* TheApprentice: When she saw Keima use "Create Golem" to build their employee quarters, in a matter of hours, rather than the days it normally takes, she demanded to have him teach her magic. He's been giving her "homework" where she actually develops magic for him instead.
* CuteWitch: She's a witch, and she's cute as a button.
* ForScience: Although her research regards magic, not scientific study, the methods and goals are the same.
* MadScientist: Although she works with magic rather than science, the feeling's the same. Upon learning to make magic tools, she decided it would be a grand idea to carve magic formations on a guy's skin, just to see what would happen. Of course, she did get the guy's consent first.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Siesta]]
A magic sword found by Uzho and Muzho, which Keima happily accepted.
----
* AwesomeButImpractical: It can put even the most powerful monsters to sleep, but unless the one using it is somehow immune, or at least highly resistant, to the effect, he will get put under too.
* FriendlyFireProof: Averted. Its sleep area ability affects both friend and foe.
* LivingWeapon: As is the case with magic swords other then those fashioned by Keima, it's alive.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Kosaki]]
A succubus purchased with DP so Keima can have a counter-measure to hostile succubi.
----
* ArtificialHuman: Keima, [[ProfessionalSlacker of all people]], pulled an all-nighter to build her the perfect golem body. While she wasn't thrilled with the process, she was awestruck once she got to try it out.
* CharmPerson: Her inherent ability when in possession of a body.
* DemonicPossession: She can take over the body of whoever wears the ring, unless the person's mind and "dream strength" are higher than her own. Even then, she can still do so if the target gives consent.
* PowerIncontinence: When she was possessing Niku, her "Charm" ability was way too strong and could not be controlled.
[[/folder]]

!Adventurer's Guild
[[folder: Receptionist Cilia]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/acub995.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Pour me some more wine, Gozuro!]]The receptionist assigned to Keima when he applied at the adventurer's guild.
----
* CutenessProximity: Though she hides it from Keima's point of view, she's instantly smitten by how cute Niku is.
* PsychoLesbian: She's attracted to little girls, and hates guys who are.
* PsychologicalProjection: She's a lolicon, attracted to Meat, so Keima must be a lolicon attracted to Niku too.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite her internal bias, she handles Keima with strict professionalism.
* SexySecretary: She's a receptionist, and Keima finds her body. especially her legs, attractive.
* StrawHypocrite: She's a card-carrying lolicon, who would happily go buy herself a child SexSlave, if she thought she could afford it, but decries Keima for owning one.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Uzoh and Muzoh]]
A pair of adventurers who happen to be brothers, and are the only people Keima's nice to outside his inner circle.
----
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: On the receiving end. Keima had to be reminded that he rescued them from the dungeon. While they honestly believe he rescues so many people that he has a hard time keeping track, in truth, Keima truly saw their experience as inconsequential and forgot about it.
* IOweYouMyLife: To Keima, not knowing that he's the one who put them in danger in the first place.
* MoralityPet: They're the only characters Keima's nice to without visibly profiting from it. In fact, after the two of them manage to find him a Magic Sword, after a year of effort, to replace the one he sacrificed to rescue them, he gives them back two, freely, as gifts!
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: They break the magic sword that is the key to their freedom while trying to escape Keima's SchmuckBait trap.
* ThoseTwoGuys: They always travel together.
* WrongGenreSavvy: They think Keima's an IdealHero because of how surprisingly nice he treats them. They're completely unaware he's actually a VillainProtagonist.
[[/folder]]

!Allies

[[folder: Haku Laverio]]
Dungeon core #89. A-Rank adventurer "The White Princess".
----
* BigSisterInstinct: Mess with Rokuko, and a living hell awaits you.
* IncestSubtext: She calls Rokuko her "little sister" and whenever the two are on screen together, does completely erotic stuff to the latter.
* TheLostLenore: Her former master, Lyon Laverio. Even after several centuries, discussing him is a touchy subject.
* MySisterIsOffLimits: A rare sister-sister version. Even after "Father" officially declares Keima and Rokuko a married couple, Haku emits a murderous bloodlust the moment she believes Keima's ''even thinking'' about erotic stuff related to Rokuko in the slightest.
* PsychoLesbian: She ''hates'' men. She only tolerates Keima because he's done an exceptional job of keeping Rokuko safe.
* SpottingTheThread: Invoked. She specifically inspects Keima's inn to see what holes exist in his cover story, and then points them out.
* ThisCannotBe: Is completely taken aback by how detailed and exotic Keima's dungeon was with just a 100,000 DP loan. And again when visiting his inn.
[[/folder]]

! Other cores

[[folder: Core 112: Ontentoo Labyrinthart]]
The core to the Flame Cavern dungeon that just happens to be the literal next-door neighbor to Cave of Desires.
----
* TheAlcoholic: He loves alcohol even more than dwarves do, and that's saying something.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After being beaten by Keima in a Dungeon Battle, so that Keima can make a toll-road between his Inn and the town of Paruvera, he's become very, very friendly towards Keima and Rokuko.
* HappilyMarried: To his master, the dragon Redra.
* PlayingWithFire: His entire dungeon is set around fire, lava, and fire-based monsters.
* UnwinnableByDesign: He grants Keima a bonus prize of half the mountain if Keima can have his forces touch the core "on the lowest floor." Problem is, ''there is no core on the lowest floor.'' So even though Keima does manage to touch the dummy core, he still lost the "bonus round."
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Core 666: Aidy]]
A dungeon core that takes immediate offense to Rokuko's ring and refusal to transmute it to DP.
----
* BloodKnight: Ooh boy. Her greatest joy is fighting, and wants to "share that joy with her [Rivals (friends)]."
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Although her definition of "friend" is something else entirely...
* FieryRedHead: Literally. She sports red hair, and is on fire!
* HairTriggerTemper: She's scarily easy to piss off.
* LivingWeapon: Literally. [[spoiler: She's a sentient sword.]]
* MarkOfTheBeast: She's number 666!
* PlayingWithFire: She can summon and control flames to the point she can vaporize an entire dungeon full of seawater and a giant iron ball.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes are red as blood and she's very dangerous.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Core 650, Core 651, 652]]
Three dungeon cores that love to bully Rokuko.
----
* TheBully: They love to pick on those they think weaker than themselves, especially Rokuko.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: When the three of them are put together on the same side, they summon a bunch of monsters representing their core's avatars, namely snakes, frogs, and snails. The moment they unleash their combined army, they realize that the moment they're distracted, the soldiers start seeing each other as a meal, as actual snakes eat frogs, and actual frogs eat snails.
* DirtyCoward: Someone stronger comes along, they run and hide.
* MilesGloriosus: They talk a big game, but they're total chumps in a real fight.
* ThoseTwoGuys: They always travel together.
* ZergRush: Their idea of a battle strategy? Just summon a bunch of monsters and send them to attack in waves.
[[/folder]]

!Antagonists
[[folder: Melon Vomit]]
The bandit boss.
----
* AssholeVictim: By the end, even his gang didn't mourn him.
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Melon Vomit"
* NoodleIncident: He earned the name "Melon Vomit" after he ate (what he claims was) a rotten melon, threw up on what appeared to be an imperial princess, and then murdered the chef after falsely accusing him of tampering with the food in a fit of jealousy. After which, he turned to banditry...
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: His real name is never revealed.
* StarterVillain: The first obstacle Keima has to overcome.
* WouldHurtAChild: Oh yes he would. Not only did he treat Meat, whose age is in the single digits, like an inflatable sex-doll, and strongly considered mutilating her ears and tail to make her look more "human" to suit his own tastes, but personally ordered his henchmen to kill some underage rookie adventurers for his own profit.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Wataru Nishimi]]
A "hero" summoned to this new world by the patriarch of the String family, and now enthralled to Haku.
----
* BornLucky: He has the "Supreme Luck" skill as his given "cheat."
* ButtMonkey: Nothing ever goes right for him for very long.
* TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest: His first love, Plum, cleaned him, and a bunch of other guys, out and abandoned them. What's worse is that Plum was a cross-dressing man, only pretending to be interested so he could rob them.
* HeroAntagonist: On occasion. He and Keima tend to be at cross purposes only because he's an adventurer who investigates, and if need be, destroys dungeon cores, and Keima is a Dungeon Master. Aside from that, the two usually get along swimmingly.
* IdealHero: In any other work, he'd be this. In this work, he's a deconstruction, as his inherently good nature only brings him pain and suffering.
* NeverGetsDrunk: He can go cup-for-cup with dwarves, which are known for having livers of orichalcum.
* SkilledButNaive: His combat skills are top notch, even defeating the battle-maniac Serune with ease. However, he's so supremely gullible that Keima can drag him around by the nose without even trying.
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: Even though it's official that the only people he's killed have been murderous bandits that needed to be put down, in order to save innocents, he still has this sentiment.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: As is the case for all "God's Vanguards" that are summoned, he has no way to return to Japan.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: Even should he find a way to return to Japan, he doesn't believe he can go back because he's had to kill people, in self-defense, and the defense of others.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Rich Family Rescue Knight Order]]
A "knight order" in name only. In actuality, they're a bunch of arrogant, pampered thugs who like to use the Rich family name to throw their weight around.
----
* AssholeVictim: They get absolutely zero empathy when they suffer their fate in the Cave of Desires dungeon, as they went out of their way to alienate anybody and everybody at Dancing Doll Pavilion, including the Dungeon Master.
* MuggingTheMonster: They descend on Dancing Doll Pavilion and start causing trouble, even trying to "seduce" (read drag away into their bedrooms) both Ichika and Meat. Then they find out that the "backwater hillbilly inn" they were messing with is backed by A-rank Haku, [The White Princess] and retired empress.
* MurderByInaction: They were hired to rescue, or try, the third born son of he Rich family, Dacros, but planned to simply enter the Cave of Desires, wander around for a few hours, and then claim they were too late and Dacros had already passed away. Keima gave them a nice taste of hell and put the few survivors in a cage to use as PeopleFarms.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: They think etiquette doesn't matter in any way, shape, or form, as long as they shout they're "The Rich Family Rescue Knight Order." When someone goes "yeah, so what?", they're honestly at a loss as to what to say or do.
* SmallNameBigEgo: They're two bit thugs, with absolutely no manners or class, yet they think they're superior to the aristocrat family that hires them for protection.
* TemptingFate: When they find themselves in the Cave Of Desires, they think the dungeon's going to be easy, and say so, aloud. Keima... had other plans.
* TooDumbToLive: Aside from the TemptingFate entry above, even after finding out that Dancing Doll Pavilion is backed by Haku, they were loud, disruptive, destructive, and actively tried to chop their rooms' beds with swords so they could steal them and carry them out.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Rin]]
A sentient slime that likes to take on the form of a wolf.
----
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: The only way it can understand a chain of command is that the strong are the boss while the weak are the follower.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Its thought process is truly bizarre.
* ExtremeOmnivore: It can and will eat anything that moves, save one "flavor" that it doesn't like.
* IGaveMyWord: It will keep its promises, to the letter. No exceptions. But just because it promises to protect a room, doesn't mean it won't lead someone to that room if asked...
* WakeUpCallBoss: It tears through Keima's rather impressive dungeon defenses like they were paper mache. If it wanted to shatter the core, there would have been nothing Keima could do to stop it. Fortunately, it was just looking for a warm place to ride out the winter...
* WeaksauceWeakness: [[spoiler: Salt.]]
* WildCard: Due to its BlueAndOrangeMorality, it can and will change allegiances at the drop of a hat.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Saintess Alka Lu Nike Hydride]]
An "adventurer" that responds to the commission to deal with Rin.
----
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: How she sees Dungeons. She simply can not comprehend that each and every dungeon is a unique existence, like people.
* TheFundamentalist: She carries out her country's dogma that Dungeons are AlwaysChaoticEvil and must be destroyed, no exceptions, to extremes even her home country won't go to.
* GenreBlind: She's completely unaware of how dungeons work, or what kind of setting she's in. It's so bad she almost started a war between her nation and the Revario empire because she was so damn fixated on trying to destroy the core to the Dungeon of Desire, even after learning that the commission to deal with Rin had absolutely nothing to do with the dungeon in any way, shape, or form.
* GodzillaThreshold: When her home country calls her back, for fear of starting a war with The Empire, founded by Haku, she pulls out all the stops, and unleashes one DangerousForbiddenTechnique after another.
* LightIsNotGood: She dresses in white, uses light-based magic, and she's omnicidal to dungeons.
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: Killing her only slows her down. She maps out dungeon traps by letting herself be killed over and over again.
* ObliviouslyEvil: She is completely unaware that Dungeons have masters and can often be reasoned with. Ergo, destroying them, regardless of the consequences, must be ultimately far more beneficial, in the long-term. There is no way to enlighten her in this, at all.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: As long as Nell, her attendant, maintains an altar, she will revive from death, even if her entire body is destroyed.
* TautologicalTemplar: Since she believes, wholeheartedly, that slaying dungeons is inherently good, then everything she does in the name of slaying dungeons is also inherently good. No exceptions.
* TheyJustDontGetIt: No matter how Keima told her "No. I won't give you the right to destroy the dungeon core," all she could hear was "you're not asking me the right way. Try again." Even to the point that she believed if she destroyed the core, she would get blanket forgiveness and permission afterwards!

[[folder: Leona '''Warning Major Spoilers.''']]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leona_8.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Oh, Niku. I could eat you up. [[NotHyperbole Seriously!]]]]An "eternally 17" year old woman.
----
* AbusiveMom: Abusive grandmother to be precise. She turned one granddaughter into a hermaphrodite, wrecking all her romantic prospects in the process, then cursed her with immortality and eternal youth in a MixAndMatchCritter body, being the only one able to reverse the process, but then refuses because it would be "boring." As for the other grand-daughter, inflicts some kind of horrid ailment on her father, that can only be cured by a philosopher's stone, but turns one into an ordinary rock, right in front of her.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: Invoked. She has a "Super Analyze" skill that lets her see anything and everything involved regarding the person she's looking at. There is no concept of "privacy" in her presence, at all.
* CardCarryingVillain: She's horrible, she knows it, she loves it.
* {{Curse}}: She's got so many slapped on her that she considers them "grains of sand on a beach" and doesn't even bother trying to identify any of them, even when a single one of them would kill anyone else! It's not known if the curse(s) made her a crazy dog-kicker, or are the direct result of her kicking every dog she comes across because she enjoys seeing them whimper...
* DoesNotLikeSpam: She hates eggplants for some reason...
* ForTheEvulz: She does horrible, horrible things, purely to be amused by the suffering she inflicts.
* {{Gaslighting}}: She's not above this. [[spoiler: The abusive mom entry? Leona cursed Setsuna into thinking she was born an ordinary girl, but was a hermaphrodite all along, presumably.]]
* HateSink: On both sides of the fourth wall, everyone who knows her wants her dead, if they feel generous. '''She knows it and likes it!'''
* ImmortalityImmorality: Because she's got eternal youth, if not straight up immortality, she thinks there's absolutely nothing wrong with pissing off everyone she comes across, hoping to provoke someone to the point that they seek out enough strength that they might legitimately be able to kill her, and then "harvesting" them just when they're about to succeed.
* InvincibleVillain: Even Setsuna's best attacks are parried with ease, and there's nothing Keima can do in a straight-up fight but simply wait for her to get bored and kill him.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: She can forcibly seal someone's memories, making them a BlankSlate. Niku is a victim, and it's a strong possibility that this is the reason she was in the slave market in the first place.
* MadLove: She honestly believes that going around pissing people off is "loving" them.
* MagicEye: Both of them automatically "Super analyze" whatever they look at.
* MindRape: Possibly combined with DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale. After Leona was "evicted," she uses a subtle geas on Keima to lure him to her location, and he winds up waking up, naked, two days later, no memory of what happened.
* OxymoronicBeing: She's a Hero Vangard, a Dungeon Master, and a Dungeon Core, all at once.
* ParentalAbandonment: Meat's backstory was orchestrated by her, and Meat's her grandchild!
* PlayingWithSyringes: To add to her depravity, she happily admits that she screws around with the biological and genetic makeup of her grandchildren, just for kicks.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: She's been around for ''at least'' 500 years, and that's when she stopped counting.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes are ruby-red, due to several of her magic skills, and she's insane, dangerous, and insanely dangerous.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Eggplants?
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: She's overpowered to the extreme, and she's probably the most psychotic person in fiction.

[[folder: Gesunoh and Kiwami.]]
C-rank pair of adventurers who enter the village of Goren, "Rookie Hunting."
----
* TheBully: They go out of their way to attack new and inexperienced adventurers for fun, and money, killing them.
* CardCarryingVillain: They're horrible, they know it, they relish it.
* FalseFriend: They join parties of rookies, genuinely teach them a thing or two, and then kill them.
* ForcedToWatch: Their favorite way to "play" is to paralyze, take hostage, or otherwise bind some of their victims so that the victims can't help to see how the others are victimized. [[NothingIsScarier The specifics are not mentioned.]]
* ForTheEvulz: Sure, they want to profit from their villainy, but they really do it for the fun of attacking those who can't fight back.
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: Combined with LaserGuidedKarma and HumanResources. Let's just say Keima is a right sadistic bastard, and if you piss him off by going after children in his charge, even death is not the end of your torment.
* SchmuckBait: When they arrive at Golen, they think it's the perfect hunting ground for them. They even plan out the perfect "trap" to lure in their prey and torment them. Unfortunately, the dungeon master heard their plans and set up traps of his own...
* VillainousFriendship: They are true friends to each other, but they're totally despicable to anyone else.
* WouldHurtAChild: Children are their favorite prey.

! Tsia Nobility
[[folder: Drasco Rich]]
Third born son of the Rich family.
----
* DramaticIrony: He was so desperate for accomplishments that he endangered himself and his entire party to hold on to the first magic sword he found in Cave of Desires. Had he been a bit more patient and gone further in, he would have gotten better magic swords, free for the taking!
* EntitledBastard: Since he's from the Rich family, he believed he was entitled to do whatever he wants, even endangering himself and others purely for name recognition. Keima and the rest of the Dungeon residents took bets to see how long it would be before the rest of his party turned on him.
* FatalFlaw: Greed, stupidity, and impatience.
* GlorySeeker: Being the third born of an aristocratic family, his only hope for name recognition is one accomplishment after another, so he tried to keep the very first magic sword he found, even if it meant his death.
* TooDumbToLive: Even knowing the secret of the SchmuckBait trap, he tried to hold on to the magic sword. His party killed him so they could escape before they starved to death.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Maiodore Tsia]]
The young daughter of Tsia's archduke.
----
* AffectionateNickname: She lets those who are close to her call her "Mai."
* CheerfulChild: A very happy and well adjusted child.
* HeroWorshipper: She idolizes heroes and tales of their exploits, often begging Keima to share such tales with her.
* PragmaticHero: She is a good and kind girl, but she's not averse to having the children in the orphanage she sponsors being trained to be adventurers, merchants, etc., so they can grow to earn their own way.
* WiseBeyondHerYears: She's well aware that the lord of Puvera only sees her as a "trophy" so he can seize her family's influence. It's ''her'' idea to recruit Keima as a "fiance."
[[/folder]]

! Others
[[folder: "Father"]]
The creator of dungeon cores.
----
* AffablyEvil: Combined with LaughablyEvil. He is polite and quite jovial, but he's clearly not a good person.
* CosmicChessGame: How he views his "children," the Dungeon Cores. They're pawns and tools in his conflict with "The God of Light" in their proxy war.
* FriendlyAddressPrivileges: He allows those who amuse him to call him by the very intimate and familiar "father" terms, as opposed to the very formal ones he expects from everyone else.
* ItAmusedMe: Everything he does is purely for his own amusement. He finds Keima very, very amusing.
* MaskOfPower: He wears a mask at all times, and he's very powerful.
* PhysicalGod: He has divine powers.
* ShipperOnDeck: To the point that he declares Keima and Rokuko legally married, and even provides them a wedding gift, in the form of a "Godly bedroll" that can only be used by Keima and Rokuko "sleeping together" with instructions that are very, very suggestive.

* SevenDeadlySins: Sloth.

----
* BigSisterWorship: She idolizes Haku.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Melon Bread.

* AnimalMotif: A dog.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Hamburger.
* UndyingLoyalty: She will serve and protect Keima, to the best of her ability, for as long as she lives. No ifs, ands, or buts.

* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: When Keima learns that she withheld the truth of the term "Niku" from him, he condemns her to three days without gambling or sampling the meals he can get her. She's listed as completely going over the DespairEventHorizon.
* FatalFlaw: She's a gambling addict.
* RedBaron: The Demonic Gourmand
* SeriousBusiness: Delicious food is more important than her life!
* SevenDeadlySins: Gluttony.
* SexSlave: Played for laughs. She was also called "meat" once... (She licks her fingers)

* CuteWitch: She's a witch, and she's cute as a button.

* MarkOfTheBeast: She's number 666!

* EmbarrassingNickname: "Melon Vomit"

* WeaksauceWeakness: [[spoiler: Salt.]]

* WeaksauceWeakness: Eggplants?
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: She's overpowered to the extreme, and she's probably the most psychotic person in fiction.
[[/folder]]

[[/folder]]

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Bonodore Tsia]]
The Archduke of the town of Tsia.
----
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Keima, pretend to be Maiodore's fiance, or your life is going to get very, very difficult.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: One of his first BeyondTheImpossible moments is essentially an act of ''willful'' ignorance. Niku the slave is trapped under a bed in the burning dungeon and the only way to rescue her is to bring her inside the dungeon core area.
