** ''The Hellhound of Billion'' makes it even more obvious. He is [[IncrediblyLamePun crabby]] at times. He also prefers sidestepping from hazards when he can't emotionally handle things anymore. This crabby behavior of his is often compared to a crab hiding in its shell.

* HurtingHero: Brandon lives by the code of not betraying anybody. It's then revealed that he betrays Millennion and Mika, and on top his guilt, he is punished ''severely'' for his crime.
** Don't ask how Biscoe and Norton treat him when they visit him in chapter 3. They chew him out, but what hits him hard is that Norton reminds him of his betrayal and then rebukes him for that.

* RatedMForManly: Brandon is easily the most terrifying LoanShark in Millennion, considering that he is a necrolyzer. He can pound almost every single rebellious clients into dirt with ease. And then, despite having lost AnArmAndALeg, he is still strong enough to kill a hulking orgman.
** RealMenGetShot: TakingTheBullet is almost a daily routine for him. It's because his body is tough enough to deflect most of them, and it's necessary to protect his loved ones.
** RealMenWearPink: Yet he does a lot of household chores like cleaning the trailer and bringing dirty clothes to the laundry... And grocery shopping.

* BladeOnAStick: His preferred weapon.

* AnAxeToGrind: Starting from ''Twisted Death''. First, Brandon gets a hatchet to replace his missing Cerberus. It's later replaced by a bigger axe: [[NamedWeapon Bone]][[NamesToRunAwayFromVeryFast hacker]].

** Norton thinking of hitting Brandon in his gunshot wounds to wake him up? Mika is none too pleased. And there's Norton asking Brandon to take off his bandage so that he can see the dog bite on his arm... Mika quickly figures out who's the culprit despite not being at the scene.
** In short, Norton is basically Mika's BerserkButton because he is never nice to Brandon.

* [[IllGirl Ill Guy]]: As a necrolyzer, Brandon relies on regular transfusions and can't tolerate dirty environment, as his body will decay.

* IHaveTheHighGround: He dodges bullets on the top of a traffic light.

* [[AllLovingHero All-Loving Heroine]]: Cares a lot for other people. It extends to someone she just knows.

* [[NiceGuy Nice Girl]]: Naive and overall kind-hearted kid.

* [[MustMakeHerLaugh Must Make Him Laugh]]: Or smile a real happy smile. Mika is highly aware of Brandon's sorrow, and all she wants is just to make him genuinely happy.

* SuperStrength: All orgmen are much stronger than regular humans, but ogre subspecies takes this UpToEleven.
