Fittingly enough, it plays when you are eating at the in-game restaurants.

The ''whole'' soundtrack is gorgeous, with music being provided by Basiscape (Creator/HitoshiSakimoto, Creator/ManabuNamiki, Creator/MasaharuIwata). While there would be too many of them if the entire soundtrack is listed, here are some notable examples:

%% * When you are not watching cutscenes nor fighting bosses, the game demonstrates its VariableMix by setting two tracks for each stage - the Normal or Side "A" which plays outside of battles, and the more fast-paced, upbeat Battle music or "Side B" which plays during enemy encounters. When you are in the middle of a fight, the background music (A) does not get overwritten with the battle music (B), but the two play simultaneously with an almost-seamless timing (albeit the Side A track has lower volume). Once the battles end, the game discards the Battle music and returns to the normal track until it loops.
