** Perrin initially gives into his inner wolf to blast through the dream, but Faile's prison starts erecting iron-clad defenses immune to tooth and claw. This would be insurmountable for a beast, [[DropTheHammer but not a blacksmith.]]

* Mat finally gets some respect from Nynaeve and Elayne and the two girls are put in their place. Bridgette goes drinking with Mat and he relates the rescue from the Stone of Tear. Bridgette later meets with Nynaeve and Elyane and tells them what Mat told her and tries to be diplomatic; Mat entered an impentrable fortress, a feat that Bridgette (a legendary hero mind you) would have only done for her eternal soulmate, and so Mat deserved thanks. Nynaeve and Elyane try to pass it off as no big deal; yeah it was the Stone and the Black Ajah and a Forsaken was there but others were taking care of that. Bridgette enters into a state of TranquilFury against the two girls: Mat never mentioned that the Black Ajah and a Forsaken was there, and she tells them that they should offer him thanks on their knees. Avendiha, bless her heart, does her best to not insult her future sister-wife and tells her as gently as possible that she owes Mat a great amount of ''toh'', not only because of what he did but that her lack of gratitude only added to her shame.

Other way around. Hero Antagonist implies they're good people acting in an antagonistic role. They're Villain Protagonists, bad people acting in a protagonistic role, and that's assuming you don't see them as out and out villains (which would be a fair take, they basically are just straight villains until super late and even then they're still unpleasant in their beliefs when they start fighting with the heroes)

** For a bit of added context, the Bloodknives are among the most skilled warriors in Seanchan society, enhanced by ter'angreal that increase their strength and speed, and allows them to blend into the shadows in exchange for dying within a short time of its activation. They're stated to be undefeatable, and only called in to rampage and do mass murder, only stopped when the curse of the ter'angreal kills them. Gawyn fights three of them, in a small room, all alone, to defend the sleeping and defenseless Egwene. He spend the entire fight unable to hurt them, gets one lucky kill, snuffs out the only remaining light to put all three of them on a level playing field and relies on his instincts to kill the other two.

* When Nynaeve, Elayne and Min are starting their plan to rescue Egwene, they choose a random ''sul'dam'' and ''damane'' in the street and Nynaeve is able to to unlock the leashed woman's collar. After a second of shock the freed woman whips around, ''punches the sul'dam right in the face'' and immediately makes a break for it, so (depending on where she's from) she's either been secretly defiant since she was leashed as a girl, or she managed to retain her mind and will even after the Seanchan's torture that was designed to break her.

** Nynaeve follows on the heels of this with some particularly cathartic karma; having learned from Egwene that ''sul'dam'' are the women who can be taught to channel as opposed to those born with the ability, and thus can be leashed by the ''a'dam,'' she decides to leave Renna and another ''sul'dam'' collared and likely to be discovered by their fellows. Nynaeve muses that they ''might'' have amassed enough good deeds to offset the bad and that will 'allow' them to remove the collars -- but if they can't work out how to do it...
