Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* ''The Untamed'' takes Wei Wuxian's badassery in archery UpToEleven when, while blindfolded, he shoots not one but ''five targets at once'' with each arrow hitting the bullseye. It even impresses Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen enough to be the first to clap in earnest. At this point he has already lost his golden core. If he had supernatural aid from resentful energy, he had mastered it within just a few months at most.

** Jiang Cheng's entrance is quite the thing to behold as well, busting the door down with zidian and giving Jin Guangyao a brief but genuinely challenging fight.

* The behind-the-scenes videos show the sheer amount of effort the production team had made into creating the show, from crafting all the props used in the series from scratch, to training the entire cast in music, arts, calligraphy, and swordplay -- which all in all is nothing short of incredible.
* Additionally, ''The Untamed'' also gets credit for being so gutsy in how it portrayed Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji's relationship on-screen. Even if it couldn't explicitly adapt the romance and had to change many aspects of their relationship, it didn't hold back with the subtext even with the threat of censorship breathing down its neck.
* The series is basically WinTheCrowd personified, as seen when its rating in Douban increases from 4.4 to ''8.1''. Sure, it's not a 9, but it still went so far from a remarkably low score and as such it's nothing to scoff at.
* ''The Untamed'' managed to become ''the'' highest top-rated Asian drama in [[https://mydramalist.com/shows/top MyDramaList]], with the only other Chinese drama coming close being ''Series/NirvanaInFire'', and given how the latter is considered a masterpiece in its own right, this is no small feat.
* The actors who aren't the leads winning an award for their performances in the show. Given how much of a hit the series has become, their acting careers are only bound to get better from here on.
** Regarding actors, almost the entire cast deserves a round of applause, given that for majority of the cast, ''The Untamed'' is either their first ever role or at least their first ''major'' acting role. And yet they're able to completely impress the audience with how the play their characters, which is a huge part of what drew in many fans the first place.
* Ji Li deserves special praise for being the only one to dub over his own character, and be toe-on-toe with the professional voice actors who dubbed over the rest of the cast.

He may have been a nobody in the past, but now he's one of the most powerful cultivators of his generation leading the other clans to become quickly aware that he is not one to be trifled with.

* Even if it sends both the characters and the audience in tears, Wen Ning still did what had to be done by telling Jiang Cheng the truth behind his golden core. The guy keeps hitting him with Zidian and yelling at him, but it does nothing to make Wen Ning pause or back off. Also, many viewers are likely to think at this point that And Wen Ning's entire speech has him talk clearly and powerfully, without stuttering (like he usually does) even once. For once, Wen Ning is standing up both for himself and for his friend, and the only thing Jiang Cheng has been too proud is able to do is stand and dickish for listen as the past few episodes and someone needed to have that verbally beaten out of him.AwfulTruth sinks in.
