* DJ hacking their way into the ''Supremacy'', the First Order's flagship, while making it look easy.
** It helps that he does it with minimal, makeshift-looking equipment, probably improvised from their yacht's systems, and while spouting weird poetry.

* Luke merging with the Force to the light of twin suns despite the fact that Ach-To is repeatedly shown to have only one sun. It appears that Luke now appreciates his upbringing and time on Tatooine a lot more than when we first met him all the way back in ''A New Hope''. [[spoiler:The Visual Dictionary for ''Film/TheLastJedi'' states it has two suns, but the visual reveal is an amazing bookend for the character.]]

!!Meta
* After his brief appearance in ''The Force Awakens'' where he was completely silent, in the first trailer we finally -- '''''FINALLY''''' -- hear Luke Skywalker's voice in a movie for the first time in 34 years.
* Disney was so impressed by Rian Johnson's work on the film that they gave him a contract for ''a trilogy'' in the franchise, where he has absolute creative freedom. With [[Film/{{Solo}} two]] [[Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker movies]] having then-recently lost their directors over disagreements with the execs, this is a '''massive''' sign of their faith in him.
* Rian Johnson having the guts to utterly subvert the idea that there even needs to be some giant mystery surrounding its central character. Rey's not a hero because of some super special destiny, or divinely ordained for greatness because of her bloodline. She just does heroic things because ''that's who she is'', and by extension that same desire and drive is all anyone needs to be a hero.
* Since the release of the film, Mark Hamill has made it clear that he disagreed with Rian Johnson about how his character was depicted in the film. Fair enough, he's lived with Luke for forty years. Not everyone has to agree on these things, and Luke's characterization has proven to be one of the most divisive things about the film. Despite his problems with it, however, he didn't say "screw you, try to tell this story without me!" He did everything he could to portray Luke as Rian Johnson saw him, and absolutely KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! Beyond that, Hamill has consistently been one of the biggest ambassadors for the franchise and has never seemed irritated or tired of his publicity from ''Star Wars''.
** He took it further after seeing so many people take his statements out of context to claim he hated the movie and it's therefore objectively bad, telling them he wasn't having any of it and even calling ''Last Jedi'' "one of the all time greats."
* Kelly Marie Tran's response to the racist and sexist bullying that caused her to leave social media, hitting back hard about the toxicity and how it needs to end.
-->"I want to live in a world where children of color don’t spend their entire adolescence wishing to be white. I want to live in a world where women are not subjected to scrutiny for their appearance, or their actions, or their general existence. I want to live in a world where people of all races, religions, socioeconomic classes, sexual orientations, gender identities and abilities are seen as what they have always been: human beings. This is the world I want to live in. And this is the world that I will continue to work toward."
** Creator/HaydenChristensen coming to Tran's defense in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTvUU8SZMXU this]] video, essentially reminding her that "fans" like this are a VocalMinority and not to take them seriously, because there are people out there who don't feel that way about her, even though they may not speak up about it.
** Creator/RianJohnson also had this to say in [[https://twitter.com/rianjohnson/status/1004073917990879233 a tweet]]:
-->Done with this disingenuous bullshit. You know the difference between not liking a movie and hatefully harassing a woman so bad she has to get off social media. And you know which of those two we’re talking about here.
** Even [[https://twitter.com/mombot/status/1003987404351389696 critics]] of the new ''Star Wars'' have voiced their support:
-->Shitting on the new Star Wars - Yes
-->Shitting on Star Wars characters you hate - I love to
-->Shitting on an actor for playing a fictional character you hate - NO.
* And for those who were tired of countless videos bashing ''The Last Jedi'', WebVideo/CinemaWins did [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCnm-3tnL3Q this video]], which brings up some rather interesting points to a few of the controversial scenes.

* One for the ''Supremacy'' itself, revealed in the Expanded Edition novelization: '''''it's still functional.''''' This thing took a cruiser going at ''hyperspeed'' to the wing and was carved in two like a burning knife through ice cream... yet somehow, it's merely crippled, still fully operational, and on the off-chance a Rhode Island-sized starship has a mind of its own, is likely ''supremely'' pissed off. This thing really IS an ImplacableMan in the shape of a starship.

Somewhat lessened, though, when the same novel says that the ''Supremacy'' was too far gone and had to be scuttled, thus giving the moment back to Holdo.

*** Phasma's troopers deserve credit [[EvenEvilHasStandards for realizing their leader's hypocrisy]] and [[SpottingTheThread for possibly noticing that Phasma's retort to Finn's question did not necessarily sound like denial]]. It comes to show how much more disciplined and refined these Stormtroopers are in comparison to their incompetent predecessors.

--> '''Finn:''' You call for order, you beat us down, but when your shiny neck was threatened, you squealed like a whoop hog. The evidence blew up with the base, but you and I both know the truth: when I put a gun to your head, ''you'' shut down Starkiller's shields! * The universe finally realises that all Skywalkers just love fucking showing off and that it actually can't kill them unless ''they'' choose to die. Case in point? Leia survives the cruiser bridge being hit with torpedoes and being blown out into space by using the Force to stay alive and pull herself back to the bridge airlock. It's the first time that Leia has shown Force abilities beyond her link with Luke and Han. From any Force-user, it would be impressive. From Leia, who's never been shown to have much, if any, skill? It's ''incredible.''
