That was a mistaken copy and paste. This is the correct one.

to:

* The flashback showing Argo City constructing a forcefield from the generators Brainiac used and surviving the destruction of Krypton that way.

Makes no sense. I can only assume this was erroneously pasted here.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Jenna and her grandfather the sheriff never really interact, not even in one scene where they're in adjoining hospital beds. A lot of people think they could have given each other some CharacterDevelopment by sharing their perspectives about the wolf and John's good and bad points. Seeing Creator/RobertForster get some affectionate grandfatherly moments in his last movie would have also been touching.

!!The comic book:

to:

!!The character
* In his first appearance -''Comicbook/ActionComics'' #242-, Superman was unable to beat Brainiac. The Man of Steel threw chunks of planetoid at the twelfth-level intellectual until he ran out of planetoid. The whole time, Brainiac just stood still, grinning and letting his deflector shields take the blows.
* The character's most notable one is effortlessly managing to steal Kandor, killing many Kryptonians in the process and [[DependingOnTheWriter possibly]] triggering Krypton's destruction. The Kryptonians were SufficientlyAdvancedAliens and basically gods to most of the universe, but they were completely helpless against Brainiac, who hardly seemed to notice them.
* In an old 100-pager Action Comics issue (specifically #443 from 1975), the lead story has a sort of Injustice League capturing every single Justice League member except Superman. Superman makes his way to their satellite, melts Sinestro's ring, and promptly wipes up the villains with ease... save Brainiac who takes down Supes, but not before he can free the Flash who frees the rest.
* In ''ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths'', Brainiac assembles an army of supervillains from across the multiverse and immediately conquers several alternate Earths, disposing of all their heroes and becoming a threat second only to the Anti-Monitor. [[EvilerThanThou None of the other villains question his authority,]] except for Alexei Luthor, who he quickly vaporizes for his trouble.
* His androids and machines nearly manage to destroy both Superman and Supergirl during the ''Brainiac'' story arc. He also not only beats, but outright [[CurbStompBattle curb-stomps]] Superman in their first physical encounter, and earlier had knocked him out and imprisoned him after detonating a star in his face.
* In the ''ComicBook/NewKrypton'' arc, he builds an upgraded robot army that manages to kill [[ConservationOfNinjutsu tens of thousands of solar powered Kryptonians,]] and Brainiac himself easily overpowers Zod in their brief super-powered struggle. His ship also proves unassailable without help from his own descendant, Brainiac 5, even against a weapon that can outright kill hundreds of Kryptonians as collateral damage. If not for a last second betrayal by Luthor, he would have easily won despite facing Superman, Zod, Supergirl, the Legion, and an entire army of Kryptonians. In fact, his descendant Brainiac 5 and the Legion traveled back in time to stop him for precisely this reason- because in the unaltered version of the events, Brainiac ''did'' kill Superman.
* [[ComicBook/OurWorldsAtWar Brainiac 13]] pulling EvilerThanThou on every other villain in the universe, outmaneuvering and absorbing Imperiex to become a universe-level threat that even Darkseid is terrified of.
* How [[TheDreaded feared]] is Brainiac? In ''ComicBook/SupermanDoomed'', Mongul and Non (easily Superman-level foes in their own right) are so terrified when they hear he is coming that they willingly enter the Phantom Zone to get away from him, suspending their plans to invade Earth.

* Comicbook/{{Brainiac}} gloats over abducting Superman's cousin and adopted people and mocks Superman by "betraying" his race since he is a Kryptonian who considers himself human. Then Superman grabs a tube connected to Brainiac's brain, bites through it, and punches Brainiac so hard that the Coluan goes flying. Which proves that Superman may not enjoy hurting people but he will make exceptions for those he truly hates so therefore if they managed to piss him off they in a world of hurting and also proves that Superman is indeed the poster boy for {{Beware the Nice Ones}}.

* Comicbook/{{Supergirl}} having a YouShallNotPass moment to protect Lois when Brainiac raids Metropolis.
-->'''Kara:''' Lois. Go.\\
'''Comicbook/LoisLane:''' Kara...\\
'''Kara:''' Please. GO!\\
'''Lois:''' You can fly away--\\
'''Kara:''' They attacked my world, Lois. They abducted the city of Kandor. And they killed hundreds to do it. I'm NOT running away. I want to, but I can't. Kal didn't. Neither will I!

Then Superman grabs a tube connected to Brainiac's brain, bites through it, and punches Brainiac so hard that the Coluan goes flying.
-->'''Superman:''' Inflicting pain on others doesn't seem to bother you. It bothers me. Usually.
* And as an additional insult, Superman asks "Which one is it, alien? Which one is Kandor?" After hearing Brainiac's garbage about "betraying his race" he's so angry he will not say his name.
* Brainiac mocks Superman, stating that he is a simple brute. Superman replies he ''is'' one when he ''needs'' to be brutal. Then he grabs Brainiac's head and smashes his face into his fist.
* Brainiac shoots a missile at the Sun, and Superman needs his cousin to stop it. When she tells she cannot do it because she is scared, Superman answers he knows she can. She is shocked for an instant, before getting an utterly determined stare. Supergirl takes off, flies after the missile and stops it before it reaches the Sun.
* Jonathan Kent saves Martha's life when Brainiac blows their home up. The old guy was always a hero till the end.
