** The final boss. Not only because for the first time in a 3D ''Sonic'' game AT ALL, Eggman is the ''real'' final boss, but it's pretty awesome in general as well!
*** An extra special mention to how the Nega-Wisp Armor operates. Mainly, it's able to not only use the Hyper Go-On energy of the captured wisps within it to forcibly utilize Wisp powers, but it's able to ''chain them together'', as well as its design implying that's in in a near-constant Frenzy on top of all that to increase its power. For once, he's the one trying to hoist ''Sonic'' with his own petard.
*** The pre-final boss cutscene. Sonic and Tails make it to the orbital elevators only to run into Eggman in the Nega-Wisp Armor. Sonic ''shoves Tails into the nearest elevator, presses the down button, and sends him back to Earth.'' [[HeroicSacrifice Damn]].
*** When Sonic scores the final hit, Eggman's VillainousBreakdown is quite cathartic.
