* Anybody take note of just how much damage the Wrecking Crew did in this event? Issue 5 saw the Wrecker nearly ''tear Colossus wide open with his crowbar''. Piotr was on the verge of death and only survived due to the immediate ministrations of the alien healer, and even with that he was disabled for like four issues. The Crew later blasts the Wasp with a ray from their gigantic tank. The only reason Janet survived was because they accidentally used a "stasis ray", quite unintentionally putting her into a mild version of suspended animation. And they later take part in the gang beating (alongside Titania, Doctor Octopus and the Absorbing Man) of the She-Hulk, putting her in a coma. Again, she only survives due to Mister Fantastic putting her in a healing machine.

* The Wasp, kidnapped by Magneto at the end of issue 2, reveals that she's been playing along with Magnus to learn the depths of his plans. When Janet discovers that he is prepared to slay anyone and everyone else to win the Beyonder's contest (including the heroes), she wasp-zaps the Master of Magnetism onto his ass. And when the newly arrived X-Men (seeking an alliance with Magneto) try to physically intervene, the Wasp flies into a charging Wolverine's literally [[CurbstompBattle curbstomping him]], causing him to fall into Cyclops and Colossus, who were right behind him. She then proceeds to zap Storm, Professor X, Nightcrawler and Rogue, taking the time to boast that if she were using a higher potency of wasp stings, they'd be killed outright. And after she escapes (fleeing to warn the other heroes), the X-Men comment on how their lack of teamwork warranted that total ass-whuppin' the Wasp handed them. Janet van Dyne, the flighty dilletante commonly seen as the most weak and useless of the Avengers, silences the doubters and proves why she was a founding member of the team and one of their greatest leaders in this scene. Bet the X-Men introduced Wasp protocols in the Danger Room sessions after this.

* New supervillainess Titania is feeling pretty good about herself after participating in a group beatdown of She-Hulk, and prepares to go after some other heroes... and then she runs into Spider-Man. Titania figures Spidey to be easy pickings, as he's a good deal smaller than she is. She's ''very'' wrong, as [[CurbstompBattle Spider-Man uses his superior intellect, speed, and experience to send her flying out the tower window into a mile-high fall, without getting scratched]]. The battle was so one sided it left Titania with a paranoid fear of Spidey that lasted for years afterward.

No meta moment, see this query.

* A meta one in that the event actually manages to have a story arc for every character involved, making everyone seem necessary to the plot. This is something that most comic book events cannot do.

The thunder alone is enough to kill a human being, and the raindrops hit like high-caliber bullets. Yet the God of Thunder enjoys it like a light summer shower. Moreover, he ''encourages'' it.

** THOR #383 greatly expands on this battle, not only showing Thor almost casually backhanding the powerful Titania (sending her flying over the horizon), but clowning Kang the Conqueror and Doctor Octopus, one-shotting each member of the Wrecking Crew and the Absorbing Man, and scattering the rest of the villains like cockroaches with a lightning strike. And if Amora the Enchantress, one of Marvel's mightiest sorceresses, ''had'' decided to join the battle at Thor's side, the God of Thunder could very well have won the day.

* As Molecule Man and Volcana are starting to become an item, they find themselves bullied by the Wrecking Crew, as if we were back in regular ol' highschool - and Molecule Man finally snaps when Piledriver calls him and Volcana "Mr. and Mrs. Nerd." So he quickly turns Piledriver's outfit into a solid metal casing, throws him to the ground and quite literally makes him eat dirt, refusing to let up until he hears a "Sorry, Mr. Molecule Man, sir." As they walk away, we hear Wrecker comment that even with his magic crowbar, the steel suit is really difficult to get off of Piledriver.

* While the Beyonder would eventually get retconned into something far less impressive, at this point it's pretty much the most powerful thing to ever appear in Marvel Comics. Galactus, the guy who eats planets, is nothing more than a piece in the Beyonder's game. Its first line establishes its power pretty nicely, and it's not lying.
