** To counter Ozeki, Rokutaro's mystics summon a dragon, which catches the Sumo General in its mouth and flies away with him. [[OffscreenMomentOfAwesome Some time later]], it crashes dead into the ground, and Ozeki emerges from the corpse to confront Gurando's troops, easily overpowering them and sending Gurando himself flying with a single blow.
* Sanshobo seeks out Nonki for a WizardDuel, chasing him across the town before finally cornering him. Nonki manages to get a mask on Sanshobo... only to realize he's been marked with a spell which makes him disappear, taking him out of the battle. As we learn at the chapter's end, he was teleported very far away from Japan.

** Yasashi's rage at this finalizes her corruption, turning her into a berserk human/Gani hybrid. But before she can attack Ikazuki, Ozeki shows up and takes her on instead. Despite being wounded and weary, he eventually overwhelms her, tearing off her mask ([[FacialHorror and her face in the process]]) and then throws her through a wall.
* While Ikazuki is fighting Rokutaro, Jade uses the opportunity provided by the distraction. Fighting through her pain, she uses the weakness Hishu put into the cage during his failed rescue to tear it open and get free.
-->'''Jade''': [[{{Determinator}} I am not done. I am down but I]] [[PunctuatedForEmphasis AM. GETTING. UP!]]
** Confronted by the Weaver after getting out of the cage, Jade [[TheDogBitesBack takes revenge for its torment of her]]. Even after it stabs her in the knee, she still manages to pin it with shadows and beat it with a rock until it shatters.
* Ikazuki singlehandedly holding off the swarm of Ninja Khan that Rokutaro sends after him, and taking on the lord as well.
** Kamisori [[BigDamnHeroes showing up in time]] to save Ikazuki and Jade just as Rokutaro is about to overwhelm them, stabbing him in the back, cutting him in half, and finally destroying his ImmortalityInducer to finish him off.

* The [[BigBadassBattleSequence Battle of Awaji]], an epic clash between the Gani (led by Tsume) and the forces of Tobe (led by Yasashi, Murakami, Gurando, and Himitsu). This culminates in a personal battle between the General and the four Shadow Shogunate officers that only ends when they wound Tsume in about every way possible, getting him down long enough to seal him in a mask.

* Kuro [[RammingAlwaysWorks ramming his ship into Kyouaku's]] in order to board it, before dueling the Pirate King personally. And despite Kuro having [[MultiArmedAndDangerous more limbs to work with]], Kyouaku fights him to a standstill until Kuro gets the upper hand using his ''tongue''. The only reason Kyouaku gets away is because the ship gets sunk by a large wave.
** At the same time, Sanshobo is fighting Nonki, and eventually one ups him with his own magic, forcing Nonki to flee.
* Hishu managing to sneak into Tobe, incapacitating Rokutaro, Gurando, and Yasashi before descending into the cavern where Jade is being held. There, he's attacked by the Weaver, and quickly manages to drive it off, before beginning to tear Jade's cage apart with his bare teeth [[{{Determinator}} despite the pain its magic causes him]]. It's only Nonki's arrival that stops him, as he sneaks up on Hishu and seals him in a mask.
** Jade, sent into MamaBear mode by this, [[TranquilFury quietly but firmly]] promises to kill Nonki for this. Nonki notes that for the first time, that threat actually makes him feel fear.
* Ozeki [[OneManArmy singlehandedly]] tearing through Tobe's outer defenses, charging across a field and ramming through the town's gate, setting off and [[NoSell ignoring]] all the magical traps in the way and opening the way for the other Shadowkhan.

* Hiruzen vs the officers of the Shogunate in the Shadows. Despite being lured into a trap where's he's heavily outnumbered, he just mows them down. It then turns out that Nonki was casting illusions to make Hiruzen think he was killing them (he did succeed in wounding them all, at least). Nonki then gives Hiruzen his toughest fight, finally succeeding in trapping him in a mask.

* Hishu having an epiphany about his tribe's role, thereby activating their instinctive ability to devour shadows and grow stronger from them.
* General Murakami's DyingMomentOfAwesome -- after drawing the Shadowkhan forces assaulting his fortress further inside, he detonates a cache of blackpowder, destroying most of the castle and taking out a large chunk of the enemy army. Furthermore, this literal HeroicSacrifice powers up the human side's sorcerers' magic, enabling them to conjure a massive storm via calling on the god Susano.
