* From a technical standpoint, the very title screen of the game's original Famicom / NES version. Dragon Quest I was a fairly basic game, so when II starts up, you're greeted by the legendary sight of the protagonist walking through a dark cave, followed by his two party members as their combined torches light the cavern (and thus the game's logo). Not only was this the game's way of saying that it had party members this time around, but the ArtEvolution for starting the game off with such a cutscene was likely mind-blowing for the time.
