Outdated now that PM suspensions set PMs to read-only instead of completely locking users out of PMs

Please do not send private messages to the moderators, as we'll just tell you to go to the thread. However, you may receive private messages directing you to responses to your appeals. If you have a PM suspension and you see that you have [=PMs=] despite not being able to send or read them, these [=PMs=] are probably why, so don't panic.

Updating this because the use of "permanent ban" to mean "bounce" has caused confusion at least a few times

!Permanent bans

If you receive the message "Your account was permanently banned from all activities", we have decided not to allow you to participate further on the site. This type of ban is permanent.

!Bounces

If you receive the message "Your account was permanently banned from all activities", we have decided not to allow you to participate further on the site. This type of ban is called a bounce and it's permanent.

!!Possible reasons for a permanent ban:bounce:

In addition, if you decide to delete your account while banned or if you have been reported for a bannable offense, it will be treated as a self-inflicted permanent ban. Moderators can still see records for deleted accounts and IP addresses assigned to them, so don't think of it as a workaround to evade your ban.

Removing per Outdated Administrivia Pages discussion about this page being for directing people to Edit Banned. I moved the final list (i.e., sans placeholder notes) back to the thread in case there's somewhere else to put it.

!!Suspension types
* '''Wiki''': Covers editing, video uploading/editing, discussion pages, image uploading (wikiside), and TLP launch privileges.
* '''PM''': Blocks users from viewing and sending PM messages/notifiers.
* '''Posting''': Blocks forumwide posts (besides the edit banned thread), discussion page posts, and due to a bug, TLP comments.
* '''TLP''': Blocks users from editing, creating TLP drafts, commenting, and hatting/bombing on TLP drafts.
* '''Query''': Users who are query suspended are barred from posting on AskTheTropers, TropeFinder, YouKnowThatShow, QueryWishlist, and QueryBugs.
* '''OTC''': Blocks users from posting on the On-Topic Conversation subforum.
* '''Workshops''': Blocks users from posting on Administrivia/TropeRepairShop and ImagePickin.
* '''Video Uploading''': Blocks users from video uploading and editing.
* '''P5''': Blocks users from posting on the Content Violations subforum.
* '''Reviews''': Blocks users from posting work page reviews and commenting on other users reviews.
* '''Liveblog''': Blocks users from posting and commenting on liveblogs.
* '''Forum topic blocks''': These blocks bar people from posting on a specific subforums. Each subforum has its own specific block. These blocks are sometimes paired with suspension blocks that aren't used often such as Liveblog because forum topic blocks don't give troper's access to the Edit Banned thread (the place where ban appeals go) like regular suspension blocks do.
* '''Bounce''': This block sets the site to read-only, disabling all functions except basic profile management.

If you are asked to use the [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=b9tcd2k65789p1pglrd92nvr Get Help with English thread]] or if we quiz you on areas relevant to your ban, please do your own work. Attempting to ask a third party for help would [[NoFairCheating only worsen your ban]].

We saw someone delete their account before we could suspend them. Such cases will be treated the same as such.

In addition, if you decide to delete your account while banned, it will be treated as a self-inflicted permanent ban. Moderators can still see records for deleted accounts and IP addresses assigned to them, so don't think of it as a workaround to evade your ban.
