I know it's not a scream, and perhaps it should be included, but there is this certain pterodactyl sound that EVERYONE re-used in the 70s/80s/even 90s cartoons. Perhaps someone could locate this? Really nostalgic childhood memories.
From YKTTW:
YYZ: I think we need a Sound Effects trope just for recognizable screams. The Wilhelm is already a famous sound effect in its own right, but there are a few other vocal noises that have been used and reused in film and TV. I distinctly remember hearing, more than once, a loud and entirely unrealistic scream that sounded like: "'''EEEEEEEEEEEERRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH"... Like The Wilhelm, but only more drawn out.
Standard Screaming Effects, anyone?
Harpie Siren: God, I hate than sound, I think EEERRRAAAUUUAAAGGGHHH is a good name, and I also think this was used in Heroes for Clair's scream in one episode
Robert: A name like EEERRRAAAUUUAAAGGGHHH would hardly ever be spelt right. Let's not make trouble for ourselves. Standard Scream or Stock Scream would be good enough names.
Seth: How about a name like Standard Scream or Ear Splitting Scream with the quote at the top of the page being EEERRRAAAUUUAAAGGGHHH?
Gus: BTW: here is a little trick for ass-caps: SEE, I'M SMALLER. I kinda like Stock Scream. As Seth points out, the funny can be brought inside the entry. Splitters will proabably want a separate Wilhelm entry, referenced by Stock Scream.// later note: Weird syncronicity: Boing Boing is running a thing today (29 Nov) about the Wilhelm.
