Since the character lineup is meant to be somewhat of a surprise, you might want to hold off reading these entries until after you've played the game.

As with all character pages, beware of unmarked spoilers and story details!

Tropes pertaining to all characters

• A Dog Named "Dog": Every character goes by their Pokémon name. You can choose to press the issue, but are told that with over 800 kinds of Pokémon in the world, it doesn't come up often. And besides, don't you know more than one Steve?
• Ambiguous Gender: Whether each character is male or female is decided by the player's choice at the beginning of the game. Subverted in that each character is actually a set gender in real life, and what the player's seeing is altered digitally to fit the player's preferences. Only one character is outright confirmed in the story one way or the other, Abra as female, but the ending implies a gender for each character. Word of God says that he won't confirm any genders for the characters, as he doesn't want someone to end up with their favorite being opposite their preferences, except for the the cardboard Charmeleon cutout, which he confirmed as male.
  • Implied female: Grovyle, Buizel, Grimer, Lucario
  • Implied male: Smeargle, Kecleon, Sandslash, Rhydon, Heracross
  • Ambiguous: Magnezone
• Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: It's subtle, but female characters have tiny pixel eyelashes.

You, the person behind the computer screen.

• Dead Pan Snarker: A lot of your responses can come across this way.
• White Gloves: Er, Glove. Heracross sells other colors if you want to avoid the Mickey Mouse look, as they put it.

The first Pokémon you meet in the game. Friendly, sociable, and a big fan of logic puzzles, Grovyle handles all the games tutorials which Abra would be... unsuited for.

• Brains and Bondage: Intelligent, and "very open-minded" when it comes to sex.
• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Grovyle from argon's comics.
  • Except that this one is (most likely) female.
• Nice Guy / Nice Girl: One of the most friendly and affable Pokémon, and who better to help you learn the ropes?
• Fatal Flaw: Grovyle is quite sharp, rank 36, and has an incredible aptitude for logic puzzles. But when it comes to the mini-games, they'll mess up even basic equations.
• Foreshadowing: Their hypothetical conversation about waking up with a different sexuality comes across a lot different when you know the player could end up potentially switching gender in the ending.
• Proud to Be a Geek: Not shy talking about their more nerdy hobbies.
• Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Grovyle tends to have a rather eloquent way of putting things.
• Shout-Out: Gives a few to other logic puzzles they enjoy, such as Nurikabe, Kakuro, Heyawake and Kurodoko.
• The Smart Guy / Girl: Psychically-enhanced brainpower aside, Grovyle seems to most often take this role among their friends, being well educated and quite insightful.
• The Social Expert: Open and sociable, Grovyle doesn't seem to have any trouble making friends. They even managed to help Abra to open up in college.

A romantic, sweet, and somewhat innocent Smeargle. An artist, and in a happy long-term relationship with Kecleon.

• Affectionate Nickname: Kecleon calls Smeargle their "Cuddle-puppy".
• Anorgasmia: Smeargle usually doesn't orgasm when they have sex. It's not that they don't enjoy it, it's just how it is for them.
  • Actually zigzagged. It can happen after all, but as implied, it's seriously hard to do so, being the pokémon with the biggest number of tells and how often they switch around between "sweet spot" and "not feeling it".
• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Smeargle from argon's Smeargle & Kecleon series.
• Genius Ditz: Smeargle's understanding of the puzzles is... questionable, but in the mini-games, they are often one of the hardest opponents.
• Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Innuendos tend to go right over their head. In a conversation with Sandslash, they can't figure out what kind of "artist" Sandslash is and invites them to do an art jam.
• Manchild: Mildly, they can take care of themself just fine. Their innocent outlook makes them come across quite young at heart, but they're usually more aware than they let on.
• Official Couple: With Kecleon! Though you're still more than welcome to spend some quality time with Smeargle.
• The Cutie: Undeniably so!

Smeargle's more experienced partner, Kecleon won't participate in any of the puzzles directly, but will most often be there when Smeargle is. Watches over the shop when Heracross is out.

• Big Beautiful Man / Big Beautiful Woman: Though Kecleon is a little self-conscious about their roundness, Smeargle is obviously a big fan.
• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Kecleon from argon's Smeargle & Kecleon series.
• Deadpan Snarker: Kecleon has a rather dry, snarky sense of humor.
• Honest John's Dealership: When Kecleon takes over the shop for Heracross, their sales pitches often come across this way, especially with their unfamiliarity with what the products actually are.
• Official Couple: With Smeargle! Though you can only play with Smeargle, Kecleon just likes to watch.
• The Tease: Makes a lot of flirty remarks, and even suggests using Double Team on Smeargle with you but always backs out.

A Buizel from a rural town. After graduating college, Buizel has been catching up for lost time with relationships in their new life in the city.

• Class Clown: With a bevy of jokes up their sleeves (shorts?) at all times, Buizel still has something of this dynamic with their friends from college. Old habits die hard!
• Country Otter: Buizel's still getting used to urban life, but much prefers it to how isolated they felt in the country.
• Gayngst: If the player's gender matches Buizels, Buizel will reveal that they were the only gay person they knew in their home town.
• Genki Girl / Guy Lighthearted and fun-loving, Buizel seems to be just bursting at the seams with energy sometimes!
• Pungeon Master: Can't resist coming up with bad puns for Grovyle's logic puzzles, such as Heyasleep and Kurodorko.
  • Compliment their buoyancy? "Pshaw! I bet you say that to all the Buoys."
  • Interested in their swimming shorts story? Maybe you have a "water shorts" fetish.
• Sad Clown: While in general quite a happy person and in a good place in their life, they have a tendency to hide their feelings behind jokes.
• Verbal Tic: Ends a lot of sentences with "Bwark!"

Confidant and promiscuous, Sandslash may work in the adult entertainment industry. Never shy to say what's on their mind, but surprisingly empathetic.

• Brilliant, but Lazy: They're in a hurry to get through the puzzles to the "good" part but their rank is 22, implying they have some considerable skill. Sandslash can barely hide their impatience when you make an obvious mistake.
  • Incidentally, they're the only character that never ventures higher than 3-peg puzzles, implying they potentially could rank even higher if they had the patience for it.
• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Sandslash from argon's Pokemon gym series.
• Ethical Slut: They're very focused on and open about sex, and are also very respectful of boundaries.
• Hidden Depths: Quick to notice and intervene when it's clear that something has gone down between you and Abra if you reject her offer to swap consciousness. Sandslash never gets to fully know what's going on, but encourages the two of you to work it out, and stands up for you for Abra trying to get you to do something you don't want to.
• Slut-Shaming: Victim of this when they accidentally come between Scrafty and Krokorok's dysfunctional relationship.
• Sir Swears-a-Lot / Ms Swears-a-Lot: Tends to pepper their fuckin' sentences with expletives.
• Stripperific: Sandslash's outfit consists of just a bowtie and a thong, which is apparently the most covering piece of clothing they own. And then there's what they originally wanted to wear for the game, a butt plug and a ball gag, but Abra vetos this.
  • Sandslash does own one more piece of clothing! ...The same thong in see-through mesh.
• Too Kinky to Torture: While most characters will complain or even outright leave the session after you play with Grimer, Sandslash absolutely loves the smell.

A big, friendly Rhydon that is most definitely a top and absolutely never a bottom. Never.

• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Rhydon from argon's Pokemon gym series.
  • When talking about their issues with sex, the player is even given the opportunity to namedrop Banette or Quilava, and Rhydon will make reference to their interactions with them in the comics.
• If It's You, It's Okay: Their relationship with Nidoking. Nidoking's sexuality doesn't normally match Rhydon's gender, and Rhydon is normally uncomfortable playing the submissive role, but feels respected when they do so with Nidoking.
• No Indoor Voice : RHYDON ALWAYS TALKS LIKE THIS! YOU FIND IT ENDEARING!
• I Just Want to Be Loved: Frequently attends the same hook-up focused gym as Sandslash. While they've met some great friends like Sandslash there, they're tired of having shallow hook-ups for sex, and feeling like others just want them for their body.
  • Likewise, they appreciate it if you spend some quality time with them, rather than just rush to the "good" part.
• Lovable Jock: Working out is one of Rhydon's biggest passions, and they're one of the kindest and most supportive 'mons you'll meet!
• Running Gag: Rhydon will often complain about various sore muscles, the player can then tease that it's from Rhydon bottoming. Rhydon will call out the implausibility of it, before coming up with an extremely specific scenario in which those muscles would get sore from them bottoming, causing them to get... distracted.
• The Big Guy: Fills this role among their friend group.
• Trademark Favorite Food: Pizza. Specifically from the Effen Pizza chain. You can encourage this habit to see more of a certain Lucario.

Runs the in-game shop, and films your in-game... activities. Heracross is quite tech savvy, but gets nervous easily.

• Closet Geek: Whenever they talk about something they've programmed, they try to play it down. They swear they're not a geek!
• Continuity Nod: Ostensibly the same Heracross from Heracross's Brick Break.
• Fantastic Arousal: It's hard to tell if they actually like having their antennae rubbed though. Blblblblblbl....
• Hates Being Alone
• Performance Anxiety: While Heracross is quite comfortable talking about sex, selling toys and filming it, they're very shy around the prospect of actually doing it.
• The Pollyanna: Generally quite optimistic and upbeat, but lets down the facade momentarily to confide their fears to you. Heracross is single, and having known someone who lost their life partner to illness, they fear growing old and being alone in their home in their later years. But they quickly turn it around and say that since they've always found a way to be happy so far, they're confident they'll figure something out.
• Verbal Tic: "Gweh!"

As a Pokémon made of literal garbage, Grimer has trouble making friends that can handle their smell. Thankfully, you don't have that issue.

• Bait-and-Switch: The first time you meet Grimer, a Charmeleon silhouette is visible on the character select screen. It turns out to be a cardboard cut-out that Grimer drew.
• Fantastic Arousal: Grimer has some very unique anatomy under all the slime, sometimes they may even be hesitant to tell the player what they just touched.
• Nausea Fuel: Some of the descriptions of their smell by the other characters. Vinegar over rotten Kimchi, Spinda vomit on sauna rocks, burnt popcorn...
• The Pig-Pen: Not that they can help it, it's just how Grimers are made. After playing with them, some characters might actually leave the one round after due to smell clinging to the player. Sandslash doesn't mind it though.

A law-enforcing Magnezone, currently investigating to make sure Heracross isn't selling anything illegal or sexual.

• Blue-and-Orange Morality: Occasionally. They think it's a very sweet gesture you'd sell out your friends to have an excuse to spend more time with them!
• Does Not Like Spam: Does not want mushrooms... On anyone's pizza!
• Insistent Terminology: It's not sex, it's maintenance.
• Felony Misdemeanor: Tends to give Heracross a hard time over minor slights, and is quick to dole out fines.
• Not So Above It All: Even robots need a massage once in a while. Or "Tactile stimulation" in this case.
  • Magnezone is willing to overlook Heracross selling a raspberry pi loaded with pirated retro games so that Smeargle and Kecleon can play games together, and you and them can spend more time together outside the shop because the motive behind it is too adorable.
• Reasonable Authority Figure: Overall, while they may give Heracross a hard time occasionally, Magnezone is just an officer doing their job.
• Robot Antennae: Has one on the top of their head beneath their hat. They're a bit self-conscious about its length.

A somewhat aimless pizza delivery person, Lucario is kind and upbeat. One of the more recent friends of the group, Abra invited them to be able to say there was a Lucario in the game, but you can make sure they'll stick around.

• Audience Surrogate: Being the newest member of Abra's friend group, Lucario is almost as unfamiliar with what's going on in the house as you, and will ask a lot of questions the player may be wondering as well.
• Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: They never could figure out what it was they wanted to do for their first two years of college, and still don't know. While there's a lot Lucario likes about working for Effen Pizza, they don't want to do it forever, but don't want to make such a large commitment to a career they're unsure they'd want to do their whole life.
• Fish out of Water: And to think Lucario only came here to deliver a pizza...
• Pizza Boy Special Delivery: Well it's an H-Game and a character from a chain called Effen Pizza just showed up in uniform, what do you think's going to happen?
• Unpopular Popular Character: Invoked by Abra. Lucario's not actually a member of Abra's friend group by the start of the game. They tried to use Lucario's popularity in the Furry Fandom to attract a playerbase and then quickly shoo them out of the house. While they end up the butt of quite a few jokes as a result, they seem to be quickly making friends with Abra's other friends, however.
• Verbal Tic: "Kyeh" and variants of it, such as "Kyeheheh" for laughter.

The creator of the game, Abra is prickly and hard to get to know. Highly intelligent but condescending, Abra is very interested in seeing how you solve the puzzles.

• Broken Ace: Their skill and talent has led them down a good direction, but now they don't know what to aim for anymore.
• Character Development: After the ending they become much more open and empathetic with the player and the other Pokémon.
• Drowning My Sorrows: At first, she drinks to lower her intelligence down to a level that's closer to yours so your minds can sync. However, the more she drinks, the more she ends up confronted with her depression and feelings of guilt.
• Intelligence Equals Isolation: A very real struggle for Abra. But how much of it is caused by their intelligence and how much of it is caused by their perspective?
• Insufferable Genius: Very fitting on both accounts. It can be hard to tell when they're being unintentionally condescending or actively mocking you.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: They may be abrasive, but it's clear even at their worst how deeply they care about their friends.
• The Hermit: They spend a lot of time locked up in their room, and some characters take it as Abra avoiding them. Abra's been spending a lot of time working on the game, and the consciousness swapping program.
• The Spock: While it's apparent that Abra is a veritable genius, Abra feels they don't have as much capacity for emotional intelligence as other people. She's insecure about this and feels it makes her a failure as a friend. She's actually jealous of your empathy.
