Notice that the male characters aren't designed for sex appeal. Fine, if it's consensus, do it. My vote is for full cut of the female images.

Cutting just the female characters' images seems like a Double Standard. They certainly are designed with sex appeal only, but they should still be represented.

I don't think it makes much sense to evoke Double Standard here—the female characters are obviously the sexualized ones—but I have no issue with the crops, even if they're pretty obvious. The aim here is to abide by the Content Policy, not to hide the fact that the work advertises itself on sex appeal.

There is no wiki policy stating that Characters subpages require images, nor that there be a "fair" allocation of them.

That's technically not true. Yes, something that violates the Content Policy should be pulled, but article images should comply with our Family Friendly guidelines, which are much more restrictive. Specifically, NSFW images are prohibited. (Ref: IP rules post)

Nobody wants to go on a Wiki Walk or click "Random Media" and see a bunch of funbags. (Well, okay, maybe some do, but that's not the point.)

The Random Media button won't send you to a character page.

Do keep in mind that the policy is No Lewdness, No Prudeness. We don't go around censoring non-NSFW things just because you don't like them.

What were people’s thoughts about cutting the “perky demon” caption on 1.1? I didn’t get a response yesterday.

I'm broadly in favour, but let's sort the images first. No point discussing captions if (hypothetically) there's a vote to cut the image.

Alternatively, one could click on Random Media and be sent to The Turner Diaries. (Besides, Random Media can’t sent you to a character page. And what would you expect going on the character page for a VN named Funbag Fantasy?)

I’m well aware that even as we cover NSFW topics, we want to remain relatively clean to some degree. But I fail to see how cropped images of (cartoon) women with huge breasts are any more profane than some other images on here. If we pulled these images on the argument that they exist solely to provide sex appeal, we’d have to pull many, many more images across the wiki.

I'm kind of looking at this like I did when I started the character sheet for Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight!: I did my best to pick images that were clear and illustrative, but also Safe For Work, but there's only so much you can actually do with a seinen manga about sex workers. (In particular, trying to find a SFW image of Goujima Sara that still depicted her porn career was an exercise in frustration, so I used her Clark Kenting outfit instead just so we could have something in her folder.)

Similarly, in this particular case, since it's a Visual Novel there may not actually exist depictions of the characters that are more Safe For Work (VNs usually just have a few sprites per character), and I agree that it smacks of a Double Standard to allow the male characters to be depicted but not the female characters. The cropped images are a good compromise.

Compromise sounds like a good decision.

I will say as a bunch of these came out to less that 350px wide we might want to set the size to 200px on the wiki for all the pictures?

Also I wouldn't say all the men are not designed for sex appeal. He's a lot more subtle but Argent has a Long-Haired Pretty Boy + "come hither look" thing going on.

There's superconsensus in favor of the first three options.

I can take some time to find the originals and re-crop them if they're big enough.
