She may be depressed, scared, and trapped in an eternal hell, but she is not alone.
The Amazing Digital Circus may be a mixture of horror and comedy, but you'd be surprised that these tender moments pop up from time to time.

Episodes:

    Pilot
  • Ragatha. While everyone is busy dealing with their own stuff, she takes her time to keep Pomni calm and ease her stay at the Circus, and even give her a tour around. She is definitely the nicest person to Pomni out of everyone in the Circus.
    • She also suggests checking on Kaufmo, mentioning that he'd want to meet Pomni too. She briefly hopes he can be fixed without getting Caine and admits to fake laughing at some of his jokes to make him feel better, insisting that she did find them funny, but was having a bad day.
    • When it's discovered that Kaufmo's been abstracted, she hopes Caine can fix him, and asks Pomni to go tell him what happened.
  • When Pomni, Ragatha, and Jax are on their way to check up on Kaufmo, Ragatha explains that all of the performers have rooms for them to rest in when they're not going on adventures. The fact that they have a place to rest and relax is an early sign that Caine's circus is at least accommodating to them.
    • Along the corridor are the rooms of all of the performers, and it is shown that Pomni already has her own room.
    • While terrified of abstracted Kaufmo, Pomni tries to help Ragatha. She is ultimately unable to because of Kaufmo's corrupting effects on Ragatha, but points for trying.
    • Pomni goes back to check up on Ragatha after shaking Kaufmo, who in turn apologizes for how awry her first day in the circus ended up becoming. Pomni then tells her not to worry about it, signaling the start of a possible friendship between them. Though Pomni's decision to try and abandon Ragatha again to try and leave through what she thinks is an exit door may have hurt this heartwarming moment a bit, as indicated by the two of them awkwardly looking away from each other afterwards once everything has been resolved.
  • Gangle asks how Kaufmo's doing, and worries that her not laughing at his jokes may have hurt his feelings.
  • For as much of a Jerkass as Jax is, he does decide to use his bowling ball to save Kinger and Gangle by bringing them into hiding with him from Kaufmo as opposed to abandoning them and hiding alone. He also tries to downplay what happened to Kaufmo as to not have them panic.
  • While Caine is clearly oblivious to the performers' plight, he does truly care about them, even if he doesn't understand how to show it.
    • Caine immediately comes to rescue Pomni from the void after traveling through a labyrinth of exit doors as a means of trying to escape.
    • On that note, Caine claims he was trying to create an exit since everyone kept asking for one. Unlike many other Lotus-Eater Machine situations where the "host" wants to maliciously imprison those under them, his reason for keeping it a secret was that it was incomplete since he didn't know what to put at the end of it, hence why Pomni ended up in the void.
    • When Zooble expresses disgust on not wanting an in-house adventure, Caine promises to make the adventure in a way where they don't have to participate if they don't want to. It doesn't work, but the thought is still there.
  • Caine is extremely respectful where the subject of Pomni's new name is concerned, inviting her to pick whatever she wants, and even after she tells him to just pick something, running the various randomized names by her for her approval.
  • Although the Pilot episode has a depressing Downer Ending, the subsequent credits have surprisingly upbeat music and a final shot of all the performers, including Pomni, looking into the night sky with awed wonder. After the harrowing events of the Pilot, particularly for Gangle, Ragatha, and Pomni, it's a very hopeful sight.
  • Zooble calls out Jax for being so blunt to Pomni about how she can't leave.

    Candy Carrier Chaos!
  • While it was ultimately a doomed effort, Pomni bonding with and wanting to help Gummigoo was genuinely adorable. This shows Pomni can actually be a very good therapist.
  • One of the first things Gummigoo does upon returning to the surface world is to hug his mates tight and tell them he's glad to see them.
  • Kinger of all people comforts Ragatha when she worries about Pomni, comparing her situation to how long it took for her to adjust to the circus.
  • How the second episode ends. Sure, Pomni witnessing the NPC she bonded with getting exploded by Caine makes her lose it for a bit... but after the touching funeral for Kaufmo as well as Ragatha's kind reassurance, she simply smiles as uplifting music plays as the episode ends, a stark contrast to how the first episode ended, which has her realize that even if she's stuck for presumably forever, she's not alone. This is accentuated by the ending to her nightmare from the start of the episode replaying, but this time with the group's hands all grabbing hers as she falls. Bonus points for Pomni’s hand strengthening its grip on theirs.
    • While all this is going on, a more bittersweet and hopeful reprise of the theme from the pilot's ending plays over the scene. It's title? "Not Alone".
  • While Zooble staying out of the adventure is what you'd expect from them, it's implied they also wanted to prioritize preparing Kaufmo's funeral.
    • Speaking of Kaufmo's funeral, during Gangle's eulogy, she's holding a framed pencil drawing of herself and Kaufmo laughing and having a good time together. While we don't know the context behind the drawing, her bringing it to Kaufmo's funeral and even smiling for a bit despite wearing her tragedy mask suggests that Gangle has very fond memories of the clown and misses him dearly.
    • While he didn't attend the funeral, Jax does put on a sad face briefly implying that he does have a Hidden Heart of Gold.
  • Despite the implications early in the episode that she's still a little sore about Pomni leaving her behind, Ragatha expresses concern that Pomni might having another horrible experience when she and Gummigoo are missing.

Misc:

  • In a Twitter post from GLITCH for Christmas 2023, Zooble is seen giving Gangle a new Comedy mask as a Christmas gift, and Gangle herself reacts with a Tearful Smile. Not bad for a grumpy character not known for socializing. Even Kaufmo is participating, serving as the tree! Nice to see him included in the festivities.
  • In the background of another image posted by Glitch to celebrate "Candy Carrier Chaos!" reaching 50 million views in just 4 days after its release, Pomni is standing in front of a picture of Gummigoo placed next to Kaufmo's on the funeral casket from the end of the episode, implying that the other players gave Gummigoo an honorable place in Kaufmo's funeral to appease Pomni's friendship with him.
  • While it's played for comedy, Caine is nice enough to respawn Gummigoo to sing a duet with Pomni in A Very Special Digital Circus Song. Sadly he glitches out and explodes (again), but it at least shows Caine didn't delete him out of malice.
  • After the aformentioned commercial for the next Digital Circus merch, GLITCH released a picture on YouTube about the new plushies. The last image (on the lower right), shows Pomni and Gummigoo sitting next to a candle, with the Caine plushie in the center above, meaning that he was once again kind enough to bring Gummigoo back to be with his friend. Also, the first image shows him hanging with the circus gang on a tea party, showing that he, indeed, can get used to it, at least in plushie form.
