** Since the Card-Jitsu Party in 2011, the Ninja Hideout started being open for everyone instead of just ninjas, which upset many players who had taken all the effort to become a ninja and have access to the room. Even moreso two years later, when the whole Hideout was removed and the elemental Dojos were moved to the main Dojo instead.

* CommonKnowledge: Due to all puffles besides the blue and red ones being member-only, the Stamps involving the participation of the pink, green and black puffles in Aqua Grabber, Jet Pack Adventure and Cart Surfer, respectively, are often treated as member-only stamps. However, the Treasure Book in the Clothes Shop allowed all players to unlock any puffle of their choice if they had a code. Some of the Jet Pack Adventure stamps involving green puffles are indeed member-only, but because they also involve other levels of the game, when non-members were only allowed to play the first level.

* ViewerGenderConfusion: Paige the Puffle Handler in the [=DS=] games is sometimes mistaken for a male since while she's pink, she lacks any TertiarySexualCharacteristics and the only clothing she wears is a cowboy hat. In the game itself, this didn't happen due to her having [[TertiarySexualCharacteristics eyelashes]] and long, brown hair tied in a ponytail.

** This tends to happen with most puffles due to each species having the exact same physical appearance, unless their gender is explicitly stated, such as Rockhopper's puffle Yarr being referred to as male on multiple occasions.

** Due to the abbreviation of the game's name, "CP", starting being used as a shorthand for [[PaedoHunt something much worse]] nowadays, looking back at many of the uses of this abbreviations can be unsettling. [[https://clubpenguin.fandom.com/wiki/Club_Penguin_Times/Issue_13 An early issue of the Club Penguin Times]], for example, opens by mentioning a player named "I Love Cp"; while in 2006 everyone just understood it meant "I Love Club Penguin", using such an username nowadays would definitely raise some eyebrows regardless of the actual meaning of the abbreviation.

* FandomRivalry: While there are some players who are fans of both, there are plenty of fans of the original ''Club Penguin'' (and by extension, usually fans of [=CPPSes=] such as ''Club Penguin Rewritten'') who dislike its sucessor ''Club Penguin Island''. The rivalry is mostly one-sided, as while some ''Island'' players do find it better than the classic game, most of them don't outright despise it. This extended to the development teams of ''Island'' and ''Rewritten'', too; when ''Club Penguin Island'' was announcing teaser images for its original launch in early 2017 with the hashtag #[=ClubPenguin=], ''Club Penguin Rewritten'' Twitter staff responded to them with their own game's posters (actually just artwork of the original game with the logo changed) and the hashtag #[=ClubPenguinRewritten=]. One year later, a while after Disney had taken down the original domain for ''Club Penguin Rewritten'', they eventually redirected it to a page on the ''Club Penguin Island'' website featuring Rockhopper and the phrase "Fancy yerself a pirate? Join the adventure".
