* DarkerAndEdgier: Ostensibly so than the original Red Flood, which is no easy feat given the fairly grim tone it held. Whereas Red Flood depicted a world descending into madness over the despair of longer and more devastating WW1, Judgement Day shows the aftermath of this takeover, as nations fell against extremist movements and military might and the organizations and alliances that remmained in the aftermath of thus "flood" has been [[EvilVersusEvil different but equally nasty groups]] who are one flare-up away from igniting the whole world ablaze to annihilate their rivals, and more moderate ideologies such as democratic liberal or socialist governments are reduced to [[TheRemnant rump or minor states]] with little influence on the world affairs, whereas in Red Flood there were multiple nations who held democratic or at least "sane" politics while also backed by a considerable capability to change the course of the world such as the United Kingdom.

To top it all off, the mod is ''literally'' darker and edgier by having a darker, muddier color palette to it's HUD and map.

* EvilVersusEvil: All of the major factions of the Cold War are oppressive and tyrannical their own way, with the Ligue Solaire representing the mad order of Le Patron in France and all of the insanity it entails, the Green Pact being a rabid, xenophobic totalitarian Russia and it's puppets, and the Pacific Red Front as a Imperialistic Force painting Asia red and crushing any dissidents to it's cause. Thanks to the open-ended nature of the paths available to the nations, however, it's possible for this to be subverted as one of the sides reforms itself, becoming a LighterShadeOfBlack or even LighterShadeOfGray, with varying degrees of difficult over how this can happen.

''Judgement Day: Aftermath of the Red Flood'' is a ''VideoGame/HeartsOfIron IV'' AlternateHistory GameMod. As its name would indicate, it is an unofficial sequel of ''VideoGame/RedFlood'', describing a three-way Cold War set in one possible aftermath of the events of the original mod.

The year is 1956. The Red Flood, this timeline's equivalent of UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, saw the old order swept away and the establishment of a new system. In Japan, socialist revolutionaries overthrew the government and spread the revolution across large parts of East and Southeast Asia. Russia emerged from its warlord era as the ultra-reactionary Russian National Peasant Republic under Vozhd Pavel Gorgulov, who defeated all rival warlords and subsequently renamed the country Great Scythia. In Europe, after the accelerationists won the civil wars in Italy and Spain, they joined the France-led Ligue Solaire; after defeating the United Kingdom, the Ligue Solaire crossed into the German Socialist Räterrepublik, and with a Scythian intervention in the Red Flood, the torch of Leninism was extinguished in the name of the new Future and old Reaction. The United States of America, after decades of economic downturn and domestic unrest, utterly collapsed into warlordism in the aftermath of a military coup led by reactionary officer George Van Horn Moseley against the unpopular anarchist President Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. With the world growing heated and chaotic, each passing day brings humanity closer to its Judgement Day.

!!This GameMod provides examples of:
* AlternateHistory: Beyond being an unofficial sequel to ''VideoGame/RedFlood'' where no one truly won World War I, ''Judgement Day'' is an alternate history to the OTL Cold War between NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
* DividedStatesOfAmerica: The old United States of America is gone. In the aftermath of a military coup against anarchist President Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, no central authority exists; the country is divided between numerous petty warlords who all want to be the American Garibaldi or Bismarck, who would reunify America with fire and blood.
* InvadedStatesOfAmerica: In 1949, France, Italy and Spain launched a land invasion of the United States in the hopes of establishing global empire across North America. As of 1956, roughly one-thirds of mainland America (east of a line crossing Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana) remain under control of pro-France warlords.
* SpaceColdWar: The main focus of the mod is a three-way Cold War between the Ligue Solaire (an alliance of accelerationist countries led by France, Italy and Spain), the Green Pact (Scythist Russia and its satellites) and the Pacific Red Front (Japan's alliance of socialist states in East and Southeast Asia).
