Have you ever seen a movie where the main character hangs out with unpopular friends, then somehow they gain some kind of 'power' and all of a sudden they are now hanging out with the popular crowd while forgetting about their unpopular friends, then usually after some kind of embarrassing scene, they come to realize that their lives were better when they were with their old friends, and so they return to their old life while keeping whatever it was that made them powerful? This is a basic plot line scene in several movies. In Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too, cousins Scott and Todd Howard each become popular when their fellow students learn that they are werewolves. In Can't Buy Me Love, Ronald Miller, pays the school's most popular student to date him to boost his popularity. -Thanks to oddity for mentioning this one In Teen Witch, Louise Miller casts a spell that makes her popular. In Never Been Kissed, Josey Geller returns to high school in order to write a paper on the social standings in high school; however, it isn't until her brother returns to school to help her that she becomes popular. In Princess Diaries, Mia Thermopolis becomes popular when her fellow students discover that she's a princess In Sky High, William Stronghold is thrust into popular when he finally gains his powers of superstrength and flight. In Legally Blondes, twin sisters Annie and Izzy leave their scholarship friends behind their nemesis fakes a friendship in order to keep her enemies closer. In Marmaduke, not only does he get his cat friend to let him beat him in a fight, but he beats the most popular dog in a surfing competition. In Teen Spirit, Lisa Sommers gets help from the ghost of the recently deceased prom queen --- In some cases, such as in Teen Wolf, Teen Wolf Too, Teen Witch and Sky High, the power is physical, while in others cases, like Can't Buy Me love, Never Been Kissed, and Princess Diaries, the power is figurative. Most of these movies generally involve a romance triangle, the one who loves he protagonist for who they are, and the one that the protagonist has a crush on. I am unsure of Can't Buy Me Love as I've never seen it, and it's been awhile since I saw Teen Witch, so I am unsure about that one too. In some cases as in, Can't Buy Me Love, Teen Wolf Too, Marmaduke and Teen Spirit, the one who ends up helping the protagonist become popular end up regretting it.
