I would second WaterBlap's comments. I clicked on this thinking it would be an article about K9 Forces. And while TruthInTelevision, I would say there is arguement for NoRealLifeExamples because, at least in news media, this only tends to come up when the cop in question is placed under arrest for a crime he or she committed (often it may be used to further a narrative that the officer in question had a violent history and joined the services because they enjoyed killing, which has the unintended consequence of poisoning public opinion if the officer intends to face trial and turning the community against the police department. Its not true of a lot, but the call for famous ones is likely to produce ones that are infamous, not famous. Should also put a note that the in the United States, armed forces are not allowed to serve as Law Enforcement without some very specific conditions occurring first, so while this is may be true in other countries, it does not cover situations where the character is military and officer of the law in countries where that is the same hat. Also, I would like to know what the thoughts are on Series/JAG character Harm Rabb, who was a navy aviator until he was diagnosed with Night Blindness and made a career change to the naval legal department (JAG) but was still a military officer? Is that this trope in spirit?
