Reviews: The Crimson Petal And The White

A Worthwhile Marathon

Coming in at 895 pages, this isn't a book that you would commit to quickly. It is, however, one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read. If you are on the edge about reading this book: Pick it up. Read the first paragraph. Problem solved.

The characters and plot and sex scenes (yes, there are quite a few of those, just to warn you) are all well done too, but the prose here are the real treat. Also, bring a Thausarus, and a French Dictionary. You will need them.
