An entertaining way to spend an hour and a half
Sky High is by no means one of the great superhero movies, but it's fun, and for a Disney film it took some risks. While a lot of it does rely on cliches and some well-established jokes, a healthy dose of Lampshading helps make it more fun. Surprisingly though, there's at least one twist that will probably catch a lot of people off-guard, though some might guess it. It's not going to set the world on fire, but at least it's a fun movie you can enjoy for 90 minutes and then walk out of. I'd give it an 8/10.
Sky high review
Sky high was nothing special, really. OK, by Disney teen movie standards, it was. This being pretty much a teen movie WITH SUPERHEROS!, a lot of its characters and plot points were pretty cliche, but they put their own unique twists on them. The characters are fairly flat and stereotypical, but the sorting of heros into hero, and hero support was pretty original. I'm really not sure if any of the points which seem cliche to me seem so because Seinfeld Is Unfunny. So you'll enjoy it if you're into the genre, but it's not like you're missing anything classic or special if you aren't and don't.
