In their defense though, not all of their fics are Dark Fic with YMMV!Debatable OOC-ness!characterization. A few of their more humorous works stick closer to canon characterizations of the countries like puella nerdii's We Do Not Speak of Berlusconi at the Table or their joint work Anthem or the totally hilarious The International Awesome Pirate Weekend. So they do have the ability to write the characters with their Hetalia!canon!voices, they just don't necessarily do that for their more history-centric fics.

YMMV on this - I would only rec their (especially Mithrilgil's) works to people who like Dark Fic and the so-called "historical" approach that often eschews canon characterization. The stories are well-researched and technically well-written but these characters are not the same ones you can find in the Hetalia manga and anime.
