While I have to agree that the characterizations of some characters—Alfred, in particular—are a little different from how I personally view them, this fic is without a doubt one of the most beautifully written amateur pieces of writing I have ever read, period. It is absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to write down every other line so I could remember how the author phrased it.

This so very beautifully-written fic makes me feel both in awe and also so very confused. I had to keep telling myself that Prof. Jones is America and not Doctor Who. On the other hand, France is IC and so is Japan, Germany, Italy, even England. Reccing cautiously. I found it enjoyable to read despite considerable trouble seeing America as America and Canada as Canada. Honestly, I think this fic should be published as an original story (so I can purchased a copy!). The prose is so descriptive without at all having a purplish tinge. (I kept wondering how the anon-author does it!) Really, the only problem I have is with Canada and America as the serious!student and oh-so-lovable-ditzy!professor. Me thinks Germany and Italy would fit the roles better or Japan and China or England and France. (Is confused.)

Seconded. Alfred is a little bit out of character, though, suffering from Wimpification once his relationship with Matthew picks up. However, this doesn't detract much from the read since it is toned down and happens gradually, coming across as more believable.

Easily the best Hetalia fanfic I've ever read. The writing style is beautiful, the characters are believable and the author doesn't rush the plot for the sake of porn. The budding relationship is developed slowly and carefully and it comes off as a lot more believable.

Unfortunately, as I always do, I balked at the sheer amount of chapters and read this completely out of order, but I must say that though the characters are a little Oo C, this is very beautifully and wonderfully written and it's a definite recommendation.
