Anime Kuttsukiboshi: The Most F-ed Up Yuri I've Seen
I did not enjoy Kuttsukiboshi that much. The characters have little to no personality and the story never reaches its full potential (how can you make telekinesis into something that's merely convenient for the plot? IT'S TELEKINESIS!). The characters get a Relationship Upgrade after 6 MINUTES, then it's just filler filler filler- gotta end this first episode, um, HAVE KIKKO STUMBLE ACROSS HER LOVE INTEREST MAKING OUT WITH HER BROTHER! The second, and thankfully last, episode is just really dirty-feeling fan service with an incomprehensible ending smacked it.
This was all directed, animated, and written by one dude. I admire that his project ended up being successful, but the fact that two part OVA was done independently is far from a saving grace.
Overall, Kuttsukiboshi was an entertaining Bile Fascination for me. If you're into this kind of thing, that's great. No opinion is right or wrong. If you liked it, that's okay. It just wasn't my thing.
Anime ...What?
Ah, Kuttsukiboshi. I got my hand on this series some months after its second episode was released. The premise looked interesting, all things considered, and the first episode, while rushing the Relationship Upgrade and focusing mostly on their sexual shenanigans, remains interesting. The cliffhanger at the end made me wondering what would happen next...
And then I watched the second episode. And my brain bellowed in despair as I tried to understand what the *fuck* was going on. Kiiko and Aya act in completely irrational ways, the part where they do nothing but force themselves on each other looks like it was stuck together for the mere sense of crudeness mixed with Guilty Pleasure, and the ending is something worthy of Gainax: An unexplained development that is almost completely unrelated with the rest of the story.
If you want Yuri, it's best if you search for something else. Ultimately, Kuttsukiboshi is not up to the test: It's confusing, it wastes its promising premise in a disappointing way and the sheer amount of gratuitous erotism can be alienating at times. Not worth the time.
